Another pair that had picked the right path to the correct warehouse was Aya and Anami, who was rus.h.i.+ng towards the site. In the middle of a silent and dark night, they had no real problem navigating through that area of town. They'd known each other for a long time at that point and had been a part of some Magical Arts related club ever since Middle school and there occurred a strange amount of Kaito related trouble in that part for some reason. As they were speeding through the different alleyways, where a lot of cats hung out, they noticed the outer bounds of the harbor and the different locations within it.

Aya instantly saw the warehouse they were looking for and steered her movements towards it while maintaining her high speed.

They were nearing the entrance with tense guts filled with anxiety. They didn't know what to expect.

Although, Anami was from the very start very confident in her abilities and she was determined to save everyone she'd caused trouble for. That included Kenjiro, whose rant she hadn't heard since she left earlier. But the fact that they were up against a major corporation had its effect on the ever-confident Anami.

Kanton opened the doors leading out tiredly, with the scarring thoughts of the humiliation he would have to face later when he met Narino again. But he looked up with bravery and started running towards the other location, he had a perfect scapegoat like he usually did. He would hopefully not get extracurricular lessons because of it though, although it was likely to happen every time he mentioned it to her. When he revealed his thoughts. He didn't think much about it when people shot down his thoughts, it was natural given his unusual stand. But he would never fall to the pressure, Kanton was completely dedicated to his way of thinking.

That had led him to uncomfortable situations, and his stubbornness wouldn't let him compromise.

He could relate to the fisher statue that stood next to the unpopular warehouse; A lonely statue, and when seen it was widely unpopular, but still standing there with all it's got.

But he'd noticed a sort of change lately, he could feel his thoughts changing. Not much, but ever so slightly. Kanton didn't know what he could pinpoint it to, but he was very resistant to it for some reason.

As he could feel the cold night wind blow against the sides of him in the glistening s.h.i.+ne of the moon, he thought about himself. Perhaps not the right time to do it, but he went through some stuff in his head and debated.

Maybe he was destined to change his ways; was his way of thinking fundamentally wrong to the point of his brain naturally changing it? Or was there some outside force changing it? Maybe even an inside force.

Kanton wasn't even sure if the change he'd felt would continue, but he was unsure. And the greatest fear he knew was of the unknown. Not everything unknown, because he found it fun to explore open worlds in video games. But the kind of unknown that had no security attached to it. The kind that led one wondering about what would happen, without a clue as to what the answer could be.

He drew some parallels to the situation he was in at that moment, he had no information on the scenario. How strong were the enemies? How many are there? Is Kenjiro defeated or has he even arrived yet?

But he wasn't scared at all.

In fact, he was excited, albeit a bit worried.

This was the chance for Kanton to help and save his friends from trouble, no matter the risk. He could also elevate himself to the upper, of the already low, tiers of humanity and make himself feel better. The excitement made him run even faster until he finally caught sight of the true building.

A giant box of metal, with a slanted roof of corrugated iron. It had blue details painted to it in form of different lines running through it. The windows, under the roof, looked a bit damaged, but nowhere close to the damage, he witnessed at the other warehouse. As he neared it, he not only got an understanding of its size but also caught the eye of something peculiar.

The young 14-year old pulled a bittersweet smile as he commented

"I guess it won't be as easy as we thought, right Takachu?"

Takachu sighed as he facepalmed lightly and responded

"I'm too old for this, I thought that we'd have an easy mission for once. I think the Boss will give me a raise if we succeed though, and we're two against one already damaged boy."

Satos.h.i.+ got a panicked look on his face as he turned to Takachu in fright, He raised his somewhat shaking hand towards Takachu and said sharply

"Don't say that! You are a bit older, so you probably don't know of this. But, if you say stuff like that, you raise a 'Defeat flag' for us! I've played a lot of video games to realize th-"

The eager and fresh boy had wanted to finish his sentence, but he was abruptly interrupted by a das.h.i.+ng Kenjiro.

"Harsh Reconquista!"

His fist soared forth, but missed its target as Satos.h.i.+ managed to move his head in time to evade the attack.

Satos.h.i.+ stumbled forward from the sudden evasion, but managed to stand up properly. He said

"Wo-oh! That was close. But luckily, I decided to focus on my agility so I'm pretty fast. Uhm, Kenjiro Asukara, if that was your name, could you look over here quickly?"

Kenjiro also recovered from his sudden dash and stood with wide legs and decided to accept the question and look at Satos.h.i.+. Sora exclaimed

"Why would you listen to him?"

*DING*

As they made eye-contact for a couple of seconds, Satos.h.i.+ smiled and said

"Emerald green eyes, huh? That's pretty rare."

He paused his talking as Takachu pulled up some b.a.l.l.s from his inner pockets, and Sora warned the confused Kenjiro with

"Look out for those b.a.l.l.s! I don't exactly know what they do, but they res---" Sora's speech was cut off as one of the b.a.l.l.s landed on her right hand.

Kenjiro thought to himself

-d.a.m.n, this is going to be way too hard. I'm both slower and weaker than I was at my worst in the fight with Kori. These guys may also be specialists, as opposed to direct fighters like Kori was. That wouldn't be good for me, although it's just a hunch. Also, there's something about those b.a.l.l.s. I must avoid hitting them. I might have a skill to counter it, but I only got it a couple of hours ago and haven't even tested it yet.-

Takachu, frowning slightly, jumped forward a couple of steps. The steps he took were very long, drawing long distances in a short amount of time. He appeared to be a.n.a.lyzing Kenjiro as he approached him, and then casually threw a ball towards Kenjiro's arm.

He immediately locked his eyes onto the ball and shouted while pointing his palm towards the ball

"Texture King!"

A web of black textile shot out of Kenjiro's hand and made contact with the ball, which made it open.

Takachu, who was now standing behind Kenjiro, said

"I see… I figured you'd try something of that sort. But sadly, that is not the way my ball works."

He then proceeded to jump up in the air kick Kenjiro in the back of his head with his right leg, forcing Kenjiro forward towards the ground.

He saw something come out of the ball, a weird purple smoke with black particles floating around and he was heading right for it. With no way of evading, especially because of the speed he was descending at, Kenjiro flew right through the smoke and towards the ground.

*DING*

As he'd fallen, the smoke had soaked into his skin and he instantly noticed something.

Everything was silent.

He couldn't hear a single thing.

Everything was complete silence as he quickly got up and backed up a couple of paces. He looked around with a panicked mind and saw Satos.h.i.+ staring right into his eyes, making eye contact once again. He also noticed Takachu standing with a frown as he looked towards Kenjiro.

He noticed Satos.h.i.+, who wore a big smile on his head, start to run towards him with incredible speed. Because he'd lost the ability to hear, for the time being, he didn't have a clear indicator of what was going on. Losing the ability to hear surprisingly impacted a lot how much he could use his reflexes against things, and as he saw Satos.h.i.+ nearing him Kenjiro prepared to defend.

But just a couple of seconds before he arrived at Kenjiro, Satos.h.i.+ seemed to move his mouth in some form and all of a sudden, a new problem was introduced for Kenjiro.

He lost his sight.

Nothing but the faintest outlines of the world were now visible to Kenjiro, and one of his last senses would be used against him as a punch was dealt on his right part of the torso.

He could feel the air grazing by his skin as he flew in the air and eventually landed harshly on some concrete and the cold ground snuggled with his skin.

Suddenly, he regained both his sight and hearing but with severe defects.

He heard nothing but a long beep and his vision was blurry.

Two very drowned out *DING*s were heard immediately as his hearing returned.

As he regained the rest of his sight, he saw Satos.h.i.+ run towards him again. Kenjiro was still processing the terrifying thing that'd just happened to him, he didn't know what to do, feel or think.

He thought to himself

- What just happened!? That must've been one of the most terrifying experiences I've ever been through, even worse than that one time I had to do an improvised theatre performance for my whole cla.s.s. Well, it wasn't supposed to be improvised, we'd gotten two weeks to prepare a piece.-

"Get yourself together, Kenjiro!"

Sora was screaming from the raised part of the warehouse, and it worked. Kenjiro realized the situation he was suddenly in and dashed to the right to avoid the straight-on attack.

Kenjiro thought fast and pulled up his ability sheet in response to the DINGs he'd heard.

He'd in total gotten four new abilities, named

"Eye check, A Fair Fight, Eye Procedure, and Reality Punch."

Kenjiro managed to open up the descriptions of the powers and get a general gist of what they were, although the descriptions were bare-bones. He checked the situation of the room before thinking to himself

-What do I do now? I'm outnumbered, outmatched, out skilled, outperformed, and incredibly tired. The fact that I thought three words that mean the same thing is proof of that. According to a lot of Anime I've watched, you're supposed to make use of the environment you're in. But what could one use in a warehouse?-

After looking around for a couple of moments, Kenjiro saw something on the ground and said out quietly

"Maybe I can do that. I just need to…"

He eyed his current enemies, especially Takuchu whom he made eye contact with for a couple of seconds.

Kenjiro then quickly dashed toward Takuchu's position, making Satos.h.i.+ react and start chasing. Takuchu also reacted, pulling out another ball from his inner pocket. He threw it towards Kenjiro, but he managed to evade it by sliding with his left leg and grabbing the two ball pieces on the floor. Satos.h.i.+ also had to stop, to avoid getting hit by the ball Takuchu threw.

Takuchu noticed what Kenjiro took and commented to himself,

"The ball pieces…!?"

Kenjiro then stood up and sprinted a few meters until he stopped and said

"A fair fight!"

That purple smoke with black particles started pouring out of his index finger as he put it into the small ball.

Takuchu stopped his movements and yelled

"My ability!? He used my ability!?"

Satos.h.i.+ also stood warily as he noticed the gas pour from the finger into the ball.

Takuchu stood completely frozen as he thought

-How!? How did he get my ability? Perhaps he has an ability that lets him use an ability that was recently used on him, kind of like a mirror type of skill.

I need to calm down, think rationally. There's no way he's gonna be able to use the actual ability. It doesn't seem probable for a young, seemingly healthy, 16-year old to have any insecurities.-

Kenjiro raised the ball, with only getting an appropriate reaction from Satos.h.i.+, who flinched a little bit. Takuchu also reacted, but with a short sigh filled with mild disappointment, followed by a slight grin.

Although Kenjiro was very terrified at that moment, all of his insecurities piling into an anxious smile, he was somewhat sure that he'd been able to trick Takachu somewhat.

Before executing his plan, Kenjiro said

"I'm really sorry, older gentleman. But, I have to break this to you. I know of the conditions for the ability, and let me tell you: I'm full of 'em, some people who knew me in my childhood even used to say that I could be compared to a miracle. A miracle in the sense that I should be breaking any second, but my fragile self is held together by a weak glue known to me as a desire, even though I don't necessarily deserve to have one.

So, please don't get too hurt."

Takachu stood shocked, with thoughts circulating his mind. His experience told him that it was a simple bluff, because if you had any knowledge of Kaito powers you'd know that more powerful abilities usually require some sort of condition, usually tailored to the ability user. But intuition told him that there was something more to it than he thought. He wouldn't have the time to think more about it though, because he could soon see some blue liquid-like thing come out of Kenjiro's hand holding the ball. The blue liquid surrounded the ball as Kenjiro yelled

"The Affection Of a Geyser!"

*Swoooooooooooooooooh*

The ball calmly flew through the air with some of the heated blue liquid hanging onto it as it flew. It soon made it's way to the front of Takachu, a couple of meters besides him. Satos.h.i.+ realized something as he saw some steam arise from the blue liquid, as he'd had Chemistry cla.s.s that very day it suddenly clicked.

He yelled

"Watch out, it's about to------!!!!"

*BOOOOOM*

With the gas spewing out of the ball as a result of the explosion, it quickly came up to the two company employees. The blow itself had caused both Satos.h.i.+ and Takuchu to fall backward and onto the ground, and with no means of blocking it due to its sudden appearance, the gas made its way to them.

The gas got absorbed into the skin of both of them, and they stared in shock at everything.

Kenjiro took the opportunity to run towards the stage to try and save Sora.

Takuchu noticed that he was unable to move any of his muscles, except for his head. Looking up at the stage, he said

"How the h.e.l.l can you be insecure about almost your whole body when you're fifteen!?"

Kenjiro hastily responded as he tried to remove the rope from Sora's hands

"I told you already, didn't I? I'm full of insecurities."

Takuchu discarded his shock, that would be for later, he got newfound confidence from his planning. He didn't consider himself the smartest, but his years in the field had made him pretty good at trying to think ahead. Although that didn't always work out as he wanted either.

Takuchu smiled slightly and said

"Well, you're not the only one insecure here. I'm an old man now and my body isn't like it used to be. Luckily, though my body has rotted, my mind hasn't yet, for which I am very grateful for."

Kenjiro suddenly noticed something on the ground, a small ball just lying there. Around him as well, there were multiple b.a.l.l.s just lying there.

He then heard

"Ultimate Skill 1: FORCED ENTRY!"

*DING*

All of the b.a.l.l.s around Kenjiro suddenly flew towards each other and collected into a pile right under Kenjiro's body. They then suddenly opened up, spilling out a lot of gas which instantly absorbed into Kenjiro's legs. Whilst standing with his hands on the rope, he suddenly froze still and collapsed to the floor. He had become unable to move at all, just like the gas he'd thrown against them. The difference being that with the amount of gas he'd just gotten into him, he'd probably be immobilized for a while. As opposed to Satos.h.i.+ and Takuchu, who'd only gotten one ball worth of gas into them.

Like Kenjiro thought, Satos.h.i.+ was already able to stand up and move. Takuchu had exerted a lot of energy towards using one of his Ultimate skills, skills that were strong but took a lot of energy to execute. He used it in faith that Satos.h.i.+ would be able to take care of the rest.

Kenjiro looked towards the approaching Satos.h.i.+ and thought

-I guess it's over, I did the most I could, like you wanted Sora.

I guess that when the odds are stacked against you and you for some reason start to win, it all ends as soon as you make the smallest mistake.-

The door, located on the opposite side of the warehouse, suddenly flew open with two people first making their entrance.

"Someone was in Point Beta, like I told you."

A blond young man said as he walked.

"Ooh, what do we have here? A fight, perhaps?"

A bowl-cut wearing delinquent said as he walked in as well.

The blond retorted with

"Now you're interested in talking, huh? What a guy."

Kenjiro looked at the bowl-haired guy with shock as he thought

- Kori…!? Him as well?

Now my doom is not only certain, but inevitable! It's my time to die, and I will have to see my mom and dad again. I don't really want to do that.

How can I be this worthless, I had the perfect chance to escape with Sora. But I screwed it up with my worthless brain...-

Kori walked forth and caught sight of a defenseless red-haired kid.
