although i wont be attacked by wolves and other monsters. theres a lot of limitations. first i cant mine ores or harvest herbs. i cant even pick up items that fell from players. im invincible but all i can do is to tour this virtual world.

well since ive got time to think about my situation. vr games have started 50 years ago, year 2120. the only difference is the realism level. it started at 30% until today's game with 95% realism.

over the decades more and more are becoming addicted to playing vr games. at this time 70% of the worlds population are playing vr games. thats why all corporations and even governments have invested in a vr game.

with all the attention to vr games over the years, many ordinary people like me have tried their luck in making money through new vr games. if not for the new world law* that made it impossible for a person without a diploma to sell anything in-game then i would have tried to become a pro-gamer years ago.

*world law - it started in the year 2143 when vr games have become a problem. kids dropped out of school and played games all day, making a living by selling some items. all governments have agreed to pa.s.s several laws that will be applicable to every country and kingdom.

i walked outside the wolves hunting area and just kept on walking without any particular direction on mind. the game is beautiful. with a 95% realism it feels like being transmigrated to another world. i never had the chance to appreciate its beauty before.

i walked for days oca.s.sionally stopping to enjoy the view. sometimes i would simply sleep anywhere and no one would bother me. by the time i heard the system reminder of a forced logout for overstaying in the game, several days has pa.s.sed. upon checking the time, theres still an hour before i finished the basic newbie survival challenge.

upon leaving the capsule, i ate instant noodles, took care of personal things and then slept for a couple of hours. when i woke up i checked the forums about the random pet reward. what i read surprised me.

the random pet reward upon not dying for ten days upon entering the game is garbage. it only gives slimes and tiny skeleton soldier. it looks like a 3 feet tall skeleton with a dagger. the bad part of it is that the experience gain of these pets are really low. plus they can only gain experience if they made the killing blow. the only good thing is that these pets sell for ten gold coins in any npc merchant.

almost everyone, except those weird people and those who likes slimes and skeletons, sold their pets. another reason they sold their pets is due to the fact that you can only have one pet in-game.

i logged in with the intension of selling the pet as soon as i got the reward. i totally forgot that im currently in a high level area several days from the nearest newbie village.

this is a lucky pet. i explored its capabilities and its wonderful. when i pour health potion on my pet slime it becomes able to heal instead of corrode using its acid. i tried placing an arrow in my slime after it absorbed a healing potion and it gave my arrow a healing effect.

what i liked the most about this slime is its potential to increase my strength. i allowed it to absorb a ring that grants a +1 to speed. then i ordered it to transfer the "+1 speed" to me. and my stat permanently increased by 1.

as long as i obtain many stat enhancing item then ill become invincible. of course its useless since i cant fight monsters for a few years while the penalty is active.
