"My dear, Jun Kai.
Mother had loved you since the day you were born.
I had thought to raise you up strong and mighty,
But it seemed like a failure.
Living alone in that cold place, it devoured me bit by bit.
So, I decided to run away, run away from that lonely life.
Those times when I was with your father,
My heart could only feel the frostbitten coldness.
If I could go back in time, I would have loved to have never met your father and give birth to you.
I was a failure.
Sigh, let us call this over.
I will live my own life now.
Though I might soon pa.s.s on this life, I would at least have enjoyed the time with my own freedom.Find authorized novels in Webnovel, faster updates, better experience,Please click for visiting.
Don't try to find me,"
From who was once your mother, Ru Yin.
Jun Kai's hand dropped to the desk. His eyes fluttered and a tear ran down his face. Of all the people, his very own mother had felt regretful of giving birth to him and was rejecting him.
The handwriting, he could recognize his mother's handwriting at first glance. He was rendered beyond speechless.
Then a surge of anger filled his heart. His hands were both clenched into tight fists. His mother was not the failure, it was him. Useless!
Jun Kai was so mad at himself that with one bang on the table, he broke it in half. His arm was numb from the pain, but he did not care. He did not care about himself anymore.
He looked at the broken table emotionlessly before taking the car keys and walked away coldly. Jun Kai's frosty figure walked past Lin Cheng who had come running in. The air that Jun Kai was emitting now, no one would be able to stop him.
His legs brought him to the rooftop of the hotel where there was a pub. Jun Kai walked inside and head straight to the counter. He ordered a big bottle of whiskey before leaving. He was not here for the fun; he was only here to forget.
Jun Kai head to the car park where his car was. Unhesitantly, he hopped onto the front of his car and was half sitting and half lying down. He then shoved the whiskey in his throat. The bitter taste of alcohol did not seem to bother him and he was taking it in big gulps.
In no time, he had finished the entire bottle. Only then did the alcohol seem to find its way to Jun Kai's consciousness. He was now completely lying down on his car and the bottle of whiskey fell off from his hand.
Everything he had done, it was all pointless. He looked up in the night sky and wondered what was his meaning in life. Jun Kai then began seeing things. Faces were now appearing in front of him one by one. It started from his mother, to his daughter, to his grandmother, and then to someone he would have never thought to think of, Mi Rong. However, without even realising, his wife was not one of those individuals he was seeing.
In front of him, Mi Rong was smiling brightly at him. She was dancing joyfully and then she reached her hand out to him. Jun Kai felt his eyes were dreamy, but he still reached his hand out to hers anyway. However, all he could grasp was thin air.
This would not do, he thought. He slowly got up and staggering found himself in the driver's seat. Jun Kai's hands went to the engines and his other to the wheel. Then off he went with his roaring car heading straight towards the opposite part of the city.
…
Feng household
Mi Rong had come down like the other nights and had already fallen asleep on the sofa. The housekeeper that was watching over the night shook his head slightly as he watched the young lady fall asleep on the sofa again. Sigh. He then turned around to go and sit on his chair but his frail figure halted as he heard the gate opening.
Housekeeper Hai could not help but wonder who would come this late at night…
He walked to the front of the house only to see a familiar figure drive into the front of the house. The housekeeper was slightly startled at seeing the other person. He took a quick glance behind where Ms Mi Rong was sleeping before deciding he should leave them to sort things out. The housekeeper was almost running to the back door so that he could give his masters some privacy. Aiyoo, he had not run for years, all his joints were rusty.
Outside, Jun Kai soberly got out of the car. Though he had drunk an entire body of whiskey, he became sober very quickly, hence there were only some side effects left from it.
His sluggish steps brought him inside his house. With each step he took, he felt as if it was harder to breathe, hence he loosened his tie and undid his top b.u.t.ton. He brought himself into the main hall but halted when he recognized a person lying on the sofa.
Instead of walking to the stairs, he decided to go up to her. When Jun Kai was closer to her, he found a familiar-looking book that laid on floor. She must have dropped the book accidentally before she fell asleep. He chuckled as he thought Mi Rong would have that side of her. Was she a book worm, if she was, then it would count as another similar trait to him.
He picked up the book slowly and when saw the cover of the book, his brows were raised up. It was the book that she had borrowed from him. Was she waiting for him to give this book back? It was already late at night. Why was she sleeping here...unless...
The tall figure merely stood there contemplating. His brows furrowed as he thought about whether he should leave her sleeping on the sofa.
In the end, he bent down but as he drew closer to her, he halted. The next moment, he stood up again and almost turned around, but then decided not to. Jun Kai couldn't help but sigh with frustration.
