w.a.n.g Yuvin's dark countenance can still be felt even behind the long nose black venetian mask he was wearing in the masquerade party. He was itching to inform his sister about Zhang Chenric's bold move of approaching Europa while he was on the stage delivering his welcoming speech. However, he cannot do so for w.a.n.g Reiji was already doing her undercover mission with Hanzo and Rentao. Also, he cannot simply leave his post for every person's eyes in the banquet hall were now locked on like magnets at him.

(This part here happened before the commencement of the masquerade ball. I hope you don't get confused.)

On their way to the hotel earlier,w.a.n.g Reiji ran down the details of the mission to w.a.n.g Yuvin, Rentao, and Hanzo. 

"Because we need to get near the guests without them knowing our ident.i.ties, we must disguise ourselves. And I think the best way is to dress up as waiters." w.a.n.g Reiji said as she signalled Rentao to bring out uniforms of Golden Palate.

"Why are there only three uniforms?" w.a.n.g Yuvin asked mulling over why there were only three uniforms when there were four of them involved. 

"My dear bro, I am entrusting Europa to you. Also, you have to deliver the welcome speech instead of me." w.a.n.g Reiji replied as she started to get herself ready. 

"Huh? What welcome speech? And why is a five year old girl attending a masquerade ball that may turn into a warzone later?" w.a.n.g Yuvin protested. 

"That's why you will be taking care of daughter. Between the two of us, you are more than capable of giving her protection. Besides, the Lius does not know who you are. If it is me, they may notice resemblances. It is too early for them to get hints" 

"Okay I get it but why do we need to bring Europa to the ball? What if Zhang Chenric suddenly shows himself up? What if he sees Europa there and decides to introduce himself as her father?" Anxiety and anger can be heard in w.a.n.g Yuvin's voice.

"He won't do that. Not in front of a crowd. And not when Liu Lingli (Huang Xur) has her eyes on him. Besides, you guys will occupy a VIP table. Zhang Chenric cannot simply get near you. I am sorry bro but Europa really wants to attend the party. How can I say no when she beams a beautiful smile whenever she tries on her gowns?"

w.a.n.g Yuvin easily understood his sister's dilemma. Indeed, saying no or turning down Europa's request was never easy especially when she made use her of ultimate skill: the cute attack. Though they did not want to spoil Europa, they cannot help it since the little girls was such a darling. 

"Alright. I'll take on the task, sis. IYou can count on me." w.a.n.g Yuvin raised his right hand up as he uttered his promise. 

"Thank you, bro! I know I can always count on you." w.a.n.g Reiji said, giving w.a.n.g Yuvin a gentle tap on his shoulder. 

w.a.n.g Reiji then continued to discuss the plans for tonight, meticiously explaining every detail one by one before they reach their destination.

As w.a.n.g Yuvin started his speech, the managing director gathered selected staff and a.s.signed them the tables they'll be attending to the rest of the party.

"As per the management's recommendation, all you will be handling the tables of top-listed VIPs," the managing director announced as she switched glances at the selected servers. "You have to be attentive to their needs. Give them what they need…paper towel, wine, champagne, have their dressing to the side if they asked you to. And most importantly, be polite and move with grace." The managing director paused for a while before she continued,

"And you two, recommended by the management, I don't know your connection with the higher up, but no special treatments here. Anyway, you," The managing director turned her head to w.a.n.g Reiji.

"You will serve table 10. And as for you," The managing director then switched her gape from w.a.n.g Reiji to Rentao. 

"Table 6 is a.s.signed to you. Okay? Remember this, if you fail, you fail. I will report to our boss based on your performance. Did I make myself clear here?" the director sternly asked. 

w.a.n.g Reiji and Rentao as well as the kitchen crew and staff nodded in unison.

"Again, be attentive. No walking or roaming around while Young Master w.a.n.g delivers his speech. The whole event is being video recorded. We cannot mess it up especially when a big boss is having his moment on stage. You guys will only start moving around once the young master is done talking! Also the video advertis.e.m.e.nt of Oriental Europa will start playing right after young master's speech. Rumors say that it's a masterpiece, but don't bother to be hooked by it. Your job here is to serve the guests, not act like one. Understood? If there will be no more questions or concerns, you are dismissed. On to your stations…now!" she ordered.

w.a.n.g Reiji smiled to herself, she better reward this managing director. Despite her age, she still managed to do her work efficiently. Plus, she did not reek of favoritism, and doesn't get intimidated by special requests. Truly befitting of her rank in Oriental Europa hierarchy.

Soon as they were dismissed by the managing director, w.a.n.g Reiji and Rentao hurriedly went to the fire exit, and wore their earpieces.

"Can you hear us, Hanzo?" she whispered, looking at Rentao who seemed to be having a hard time wearing his earpiece.

"Yes, boss. Rentao, are you alright?" Hanzo jokingly asked Rentao.

"I got it…yeah. We could joke around later, Hanzo, after this night," Rentao bantered back.

w.a.n.g Reiji cleared her throat, and looked sternly at Rentao. "Now that we're all set, let the show begin," she said. "We will go back now, Hanzo. Let's do our best for we cannot make this mission flop," w.a.n.g Reiji warned them one last time before going back to the event. When they entered the hall it was already filled with guests and w.a.n.g Yuvin was already in the middle of delivering his welcome speech. She and Rentao then fixed themselves and grab their trays. They stood at the side of the hall near the buffet table. w.a.n.g Reiji then looked at Rentao, who's lowkey protecting her before she subtly pressed her fingers against her earpiece. "Hanzo, how's everything on your end?" she softly asked.

"All systems go. I have all my computers up and running," Hanzo replied. "I already locked my eyes on the tables as well," he added.

"That's good. Just be on standby. Yuvin is almost done with his speech. Few moments after he's done talking, the video commerical will start playing and we will start approaching the tables a.s.signed to us." w.a.n.g Reiji whispered.

Alas! w.a.n.g Yuvin finished delivering his speech and was on his way back to their table but some guests who were eager to meet him blocked his way. However, thanks the roaring sound of the video filled the hall, the guests regained their senses and hurriedly went back to their places. While w.a.n.g Reiji, Rentao and the other servers when out with flutes of champagnes. They roamed around like busy bees minus the buzzing sound.

Hanzo, who was monitoring each table, couldn't help but to chuckle when he heard the sneers and heresays about the big boss herself. "Ohhh, dear. They don't know who they're trying to take down," Hanzo said to himself. This made Reiji and Rentao smile sheepishly.

On her way to table 10, w.a.n.g Reiji decided to pa.s.s by other tables to pick up real time scoop. Yuvin and Europa were occupying table 1 so she did not get near to it anymore. She started with table 2. The occupants of table 2 seemed to be from a well of family. The woman, who seemed to be the matriarch was clothed in expensive satin gown and her mask was layered with gold and diamonds. The man sitting beside her who seemed to be her husband was looking very dignified. The youngsters beside who seemed very well educated were all looking das.h.i.+ng in their gowns and suits. 

"They are the family of a high-ranking military officer, boss. Do I need to further check his and his family's background?" Hanzo asked.

"There is no need at the moment. Table 2 is clear. No gossips or what," she subtly informed Rentao and Hanzo.

The group of people occupying the next three tables were not interesting at all. They were celebrities, mostly female. Their group were talking about how they envy the newbie actress. She was so lucky tobe chosen as the endorser of a high end hotel. Now, every one wondered about her mysterious ident.i.ty. 

"Looks like they are dying to meet you, boss. They are all interested to know who the woman in the commercial is." Hanzo said said as w.a.n.g Reiji pa.s.sed by the tables. 

"Looks like we need to take care of that matter as well. ASAP. These celebrities can be restless and will not stop until they found out the endorser's ident.i.ty just to compare themselves." w.a.n.g Reiji replied in a whisper. 

"Should I just hack into their accounts and release scandals so they become busy cleaning after themselves instead of searching for you, the endorser?" Hanzo gave w.a.n.g Reiji an offer that she immediately turned down.

"No need. Thank you," she ordered. She looked over Rentao who's now serving table 6. She then could see how the celebrities are eyeing her a.s.sistant.

"Do you think he is just a waiter?" a giggly teen star asked the colleague sitting beside her. 

"He's quite tall and he has good body build." The colleague replied.

"I wonder what's underneath those pants... I mean mask." Another celebrity said, her tone was naughty.

"How tastless! Why are you girls so interested with a just waiter? Anyway, that's good for me since I got my eyes on the young master of Oriental Europa. Gos.h.!.+ He looked like he's a cut out from a fairy tale scene!" Exclaimed by another celebrity. 

"So, don't you girls dare go liking my prey!" The celebrity added.

"Hahaha! Well, well, well, as if the young master is an easy prey. Good luck on that! You know, when getting a man, a girl should be realistic. Don't ask for too much!" The colleague retaliated for she felt insulted with the other celebrity's words.

"Whoo! Catfight! Should I send in some security personnel, boss?" Hanzo asked.

"Don't do that. The guests might think something is wrong and enter a state of panic. Hmmm... Rentao, after serving table 6, go pa.s.s by table 4 and 5. Entertain them specially the blonde one who is eyeing my brother!"

(Imagine the scene transitioning from w.a.n.g Reiji to Rentao)

"Excuse me, our esteemed guests. I'm here to serve you champagnes. If you need anything, just tell me," Rentao said politely before placing flutes of champagnes on table 6. He nodded, and excused himself. However, the gentlemen on his a.s.signed table asked for a stronger liquor. He then nodded his head and excused himself to get them their drinks. He strode with confidence, and pressed onto his earpiece, "Okay boss, I'll pa.s.s by them after I brought the businessmen their liquors."

Rentao then walked towards the mini bar but decided to pa.s.s by the table occupied by the young celebrities and made sure he shone his most breathtaking smile at them. Reaching the bar counter, Rentao then asked for a gla.s.s with ice, and Monkey Shoulder. He also asked for whiskey and cognac. The bartender then excused himself to get Rentao's orders. While Rentao was waiting, the first celebrity to noticed him approached him.

"You look like you could be my next big thing," The celebrity smiled and low key bit her lower lip as if seducing Rentao. 

Rentao smiled politely, and asked, "Is there anything you want, ma'am?" Rentao asked politely.

"Nothing more aside from you," the celebrity teased. Rentao just nodded, and excused himself. Little did he know that Reiji and Hanzo are trying their best not to laugh.

"Nice one, Rentao. I guess I have to fire you now, and you could go home with that teen star," Reiji teased her tensed a.s.sistant, as she picked the champagne she'd bring to table 10. 

Before she went to table 10, and served the drink. She nodded once more, and thought to herself that being a waitress was no easy task. She then considered to give bonus whenever big events were held in the hotel. Pressing on her earpiece she turned her attention to the mission once more. "You have to stay to the table of the businessman who approached Yuvin earlier, Rentao," she reminded him to help him get back to his senses. This isn't the time to fool around, Rentao.

"I'm on it, ma'am," he said as he walked back to table 6.

"Good evening gentlemen. Here are your--" Rentao introduced himself to them, but was interrupted by a businessman who just came back from the restroom.

"Where's my gla.s.s of Scotch?," he asked impatiently. He just nodded and made his way to the bar. He got the drinks, and informed Hanzo to further check the rude businessman. He went back to the businessman's table, and served them their requests.

"He's ill-tempered, but could be easily be fooled with flowery words," Hanzo informed them.

"Noted," Reiji briefly replied, raising her brows at Rentao to show that he's doing his job right.

But all of the funny banters and exchange of teasing vanished as she approached table 10, the table a.s.signed to the Qin clan. She inhaled deeply, and hope that the Qins wouldn't notice her. Lo and behold, Europa is sitting there…next to Qin Rong! She exhaled the breath she didn't notice that she was holding. Swallowing the lump in the back of her throat, she walked towards table 10.
