"Intruders! Leave Alistor City now or die!" The four guardians simultaneously declared in their respective stations, their eyes glowing red.
In the eastern gate, Tyler faced a Stone Guardian wielding a battle-ax.
[Reinier (Eastern Guard), Level 120, Lord V Human Berserker]
Just like players, NPCs and monsters in the Open World were distinguished using the same ranking system.
In addition, Guardians were special characters. These ent.i.ties are hybrids between NPCs and monsters; each city, having its unique protectors.
The Level 75, Gold II Elf a.s.sa.s.sin, simply chuckled as he saw what he was about to face, a monster higher than him in terms of size, rank, and level. "Teacher Lidar's training is really h.e.l.lish. Tsss. Come, little giant! Eat my fangs!"
Meanwhile, in the northern gate, Wash, the Orc Berserker, was busy dodging structures hurled to him by the guardian he was facing. "s.h.i.+t! This monster is a crazy b.a.s.t.a.r.d!" He grumbled, unable to get near towards his opponent.
[Baghdad (Northern Guard), Level 120, Lord V Human Slinger]
Boom!
A ma.s.sive explosion could be heard in the Eastern Gate, where the strongest among the students was stationed - Tripod Sunset. Her level and rank were even higher than RockSalt. However, she was currently facing a ma.s.sive guardian geared with two kite-shaped stone s.h.i.+elds.
[Tehran (Western Guard), Level 120, Lord V Human Vanguard]
The yellow-dressed ranger's expression was grim. The Guardian effortlessly blocked all her attacks, and it did not even make any difference to the monster's HP.
On the other hand, the situation in the south of Alistor City was completely different. As the main gate, the guardian in this one was ten times bigger than the size of average players.
[Agatha (South Chief Guard), Level 130, Lord III Human Warrior]
RockSalt and his invaders looked like mere insects in front of the female guardian, who wielded a broadsword and buckler. The stone keeper looked like a valkyrie with no wings.
Peris.h.!.+
The earth trembled as the rock guardian swung her sword towards the location of Yamasteh and Lidar.
Clanggggg!
An extended reverberating frequency pierced the ears of everyone within the vicinity of the clash, except for one - Lidar. The man effortlessly met the attack in midair with his greatsword, which now looked like a needle in front of the large stone sword.
[Lidar, Level 145, ?Rank? Human Warrior, Deputy Officer of the Guild, t.i.tans]
It was the first time that Yamasteh was able to get a glimpse of his master's character details, which was previously in private. "An indiscernible rank?" Everyone gasped.

Once players transcended the Lord Rank, they would be able to enter a special mode called G.o.d Mode, changing the way their ranks were a.s.sessed. Since the ranks of Nisha and the others were still low, the data regarding this realm were still unavailable for them to identify.
Lidar did not stop. After he had blocked the attack, with his HP still intact, he twisted his body. The normal-looking greatsword was swung towards the guardian's weapon.
Slas.h.!.+
Boom!
The tip of the ma.s.sive broadsword was sliced, falling deep on the ground.
Agatha, the rock guardian, immediately withdrew her broken sword, which slowly regenerated itself. However, she quickly found herself losing balance as she fell headfirst on the floor.
Boom!
The dust unsettled as the guardian's ma.s.sive frame fell on the ground, blowing everyone away from their positions.
"You sc.u.m! You'll pay for your atrocity!" The voice of Agatha was deep. Her red eyes flashed a beam on the sky. It was a signal of distress.
The whole city of Alistor kept on trembling as the remaining guardians could now be seen heading toward the main gate. Tyler, Wash, and Tripod Sunset were not able to keep these ma.s.sive monsters from moving toward the south.
"Everybody, regroup here in my location. We'll do the grinding here." Lidar sent a message to their party's group chat.
"Master, RockSalt is nowhere to be found!" Darwin alarmingly reported in the chat. Due to being toppled by the impact of the guardian's fall, he, Almond, and RockSalt were sent cras.h.i.+ng to the nearest building. However, when he stood up, the Stone Troopers' guild leader was already missing.
"Don't mind him for now, as long as the city is under siege. He won't be able to get out. Prepare for the next training. Everyone will face these four Lord Rank Monsters." Lidar quickly replied.
"Aye!" All five simultaneously replied in their group chat.
The three guardians coming from the north, west, and east have now converged in the middle of Alistor City. Their eyes fixed on their chief guard, who was currently pinned down by Lidar.
Meanwhile, the other three players were keeping up with the pace of these three guardians. They were regrouping back to their master.
Tripod Sunset was attacking while moving, but the Vanguard Guardian effortlessly blocked all her attacks. "What a persistent, b.a.s.t.a.r.d!" She's starting to lose her cool.
It was not even a minute before the three guardians arrived at the southern gate. When Lidar entered the Human Slinger's range, the latter immediately grabbed a structure nearby and tossed it to the invader bullying his boss.
Slice!
The stone pillar was cut in half, splitting into two, unable to touch Lidar. Meanwhile, Agatha was still pinned down, and every time she picks herself up, after regenerating her dismembered body part, Lidar will cut another portion of her leg. The chief guardian looked like a helpless giant bullied by an ant.
'So strong.' Yamasteh marveled. His master was living up to his t.i.tle - The King of Basic Attacks. All this time, Lidar had never used a single skill to keep the most stalwart guardian from standing.
