Jasmine turned around and showed Rika a red dress she was wearing. It was indeed a good-looking dress which matched her appearance, however, Bin had another, very different opinion.
"The previous one looked better, though."
His sudden interjection surprised the pleased Jasmine, who creased her brows, glared at him and retorted:

"Hmpf! Who asked for your opinion?!"
She re-entered the changing room and gazed at herself in the mirror, pondering about something. A few minutes later, Jasmine left the store with a medium-sized bag filled with what seemed to be more than one dress. Bin quietly followed here while Rika was busy chatting with his master about the party tonight.
Apparently, every student in the magic academy was invited but it's obligatory to attend. It's just like a celebration that happens before the beginning of the semester.
From what he randomly heard from their conversation, Bin came to know that Jasmine a crush on one of her cla.s.smates named Joseph, which is why she went to buy a new dress. She was going through all this effort to look pretty at the party so she can grab his attention.
Bin wasn't interested or curious so he refrained from asking questions and merely followed her into the car. The next stop was a large jewelry shop that sold exorbitant necklaces, rings, and bracelets.
The prices almost made Bin cry, they were just too ridiculous. Furthermore, Jasmine didn't bat an eye when she saw the prices… heck! She didn't even pay them any attention as she was focusing on what suited her the best.
"What do you think?"
Currently, Jasmine needed a guy's opinion so she asked the only male around her, Bin. She wore a golden necklace engraved with dozens of small diamond that added to the beauty of the jewelry. Unfortunately, she didn't get the response she wanted as he gave her a quick glance before replying
"I remember a certain 'someone' not caring about my opinion."
"…"
The girl glared at him but didn't say a word, her ever-so-increasing anger started showing on her face but Bin acted nonchalant as he distanced himself from her and started inspecting the displayed jewelry on the corner.
"What's wrong with him?"
Jasmine mumbled to herself as she saw his contradictory actions. Just earlier, he voiced his opinion yet now he's acting 'obedient' just because she uttered one sentence, it's quite unlike him.
"I think he doesn't like the way you treat him."
Rika b.u.t.ted in and spoke to her friend, who tilted her head, not understanding the meaning of the former's words.
After letting out a short sigh, Rika explained:
"He must not like your att.i.tude, you don't treat him with respect."
"What's that supposed to mean? He's my servant, why should I respect him?"
Rika shook her head but didn't say anything else. She knew her friend's character and saying a few words won't change the way she acts.
'Before he's your servant, he's a human being and someone older than you…'
She glanced at Bin and seemed to have thought of something. After a minute or so, the short-haired girl clenched her fist and seemed to have resolved herself to ask him about what's on her mind tonight.
…
When the three of them were leaving the jewelry shop, they stumbled upon a familiar face. She was a girl with long blond hair and unique beauty. Despite her young age, she looked like a woman more than a girl, especially her very developed-chest.
It was none other than Rika and Jasmine's friend, Melissa, a person Bin intensely dislikes for some reason.
She softly smiled and walked up to her friends while not forgetting to throw a glance at Bin, who stared back at her with a cold gaze.
After talking about tonight's party and briefly telling Melissa about what happened with Rika, the two parties were about to part ways only for the blond girl to whisper something in Jasmine's ears.
Right after that, the two stared at Bin, who frowned, not knowing what's going on. Jasmine pondered for a moment before saying:
"I'll go back home with Rika, you go with Melissa."
Although unwilling, he still nodded his head and slowly followed the smiling Melissa, who beckoned him. The blond girl waved goodbye to her friend and when they disappeared, she hugged Bin's arm and dragged him to her s.p.a.cious black limousine.
In addition to Melissa and Bin, there was a tall man wearing a black tuxedo standing across them. He seemed to be a bodyguard as he had a fit build and was undisturbed by Melissa's slightly intimate action with Bin.
Bin tried to shove her hand away but Melissa was like glue, sticking to him and refusing to let go. Only when they sat inside the limousine did she stop doing that while giggling mischievously.
"Do you hate being close to me that much?"
She looked at him with a seductive gaze that would melt any man's heart but the response she got was unexpected as he scoffed at her and retorted:
"Let me blunt, I don't like two-faced people."
The girl covered her mouth, pretending to be hurt while saying:
"Oh my! That's hurtful… don't you care about a young lady's pure feelings?"
Bin glared at her and added:
"Stop bulls.h.i.+tting and tell me why you dragged me here, I've got work to do."
He knew that it's pointless to beat around the bush with people like her. Last time she wanted to talk to him but he flatly rejected her, he never thought she's this persistent. Moreover, he abhorred people like her, who are like snakes, sly and always have ulterior motives.
He didn't know her too well to judge her but Bin trusted his gut feeling and wanted to stay as far away from her as possible.
