Very soon, Aldren busied himself with other fun games, jumping from one table to another, uncaring about the money he lost. As for Bin, he wandered around, curiously checking the machines but he didn't dare to play, unwilling to lose the money in his possession.

People were enjoying their time, laughing together and throwing money as if it was nothing. Bin wished he could all of that to himself but it was just him fantasizing about impossible scenarios any poor person would dream about.

Around fifteen minutes later, he wandered off to a smaller room with more people. Contrary to the other area, this one had no machines or tables, there was just a group of masked people circling around a woman wearing a dark veil that covered her face.

Although her face was unseen, a pale, slender neck rises from the gorget. The milky skin stretched across all the exposed parts, it is delicate and translucent, like a parchment that has been sc.r.a.ped clean too many times.

Intrigued by the show she seemed to be forming, Bin walked closer, wondering why so many people seemed lively and excited.

Opposite of the woman stood a tall man wearing a lion's mask. His hidden eyes focused on the woman's soft hands which were moving rapidly, almost turning blurry. After twenty or so seconds, the hands abruptly stopped, the two clenched into fists, seemingly covering something.

With a melodious voice, the woman gazed at the astounded man and said:

"Which hand?"

He hesitated for a good ten seconds before choosing the right hand, which slowly opened, revealing total emptiness.

"You lost."

The man wasn't angry, instead, he lightly coughed and spoke with a hoa.r.s.e voice:

"One more time."

In response, the woman shook her head and retorted: "There are other customers waiting. You've played enough today."

Still, the man protested, stomping his foot in frustration.

"You promised to have dinner with me if I guessed it right."

"Yes, I did. However, you weren't able to correctly guess."

The woman was used to his persistence and clingy behavior, nonetheless, she didn't snap at him and, instead, politely requested he steps aside.

Sulkily, the man joined the crowd behind him and another player walked before the woman, this one was an elderly wearing a traditional Chinese robe. His beard almost reached his chest and his mask was that of a turtle.

"We meet again, honorable elder."

The woman lightly bowed to the old man before showing him a golden coin to which he nodded his head and chuckled. She threw the coin in the air and, very swiftly, moved both of her hands, catching the falling coin.

Her movements were lightning fast, making it close to impossible to guess which hand contained the coin. The elder remained calmed and carefully followed her hands, trying his best to not lose sight of it.

Unfortunately, after eleven seconds, he let out a sigh, waved his hand and said:

"Lady Ca.s.s, there is no need to continue, I've lost it. I didn't come here to make a random guess."

With his words, the woman stopped and maintained silence. The old man stretched his card to her and sent her a specific amount of money, it was actually the losing fee.

Like yesterday and the day before, after losing, the old man excused himself, no longer interested in the game. The crowd looked expectantly at the woman, waiting for other partic.i.p.ants. Sadly, no one was brave enough to step forward and play. One, because the losing fee was truly outrageous and two, because the probability of winning is unimaginably low.

In fact, there were only four winners ever since the woman started performing here. The people came here to enjoy the show and see how people miserably lose their minds in an attempt to outwit the woman.

Mathematically, you have 50% chance of correctly guessing yet the woman always seemed to know which hand you'll eventually choose.

One minute pa.s.sed yet the woman remained standing at the center, alone. She scanned the crowd around her and recognized everyone but one person, a young man wearing a phoenix's mask.

Bin noticed her lingering stare that seemed to be inviting him to play. After pondering for a moment, he marched forward, confident that he can at least win around.

Unlike the others, who followed the coin with their eyes, he could magically feel where it is. The coin had a bit of Mana stored in it so it wasn't hard for his body to sense its whereabouts, nevertheless, there's the chance he can't lose so before he started playing, he said:

"I don't have enough money to pay the losing fee."

It the first time the woman or the onlookers heard someone brazenly say that. They dumbly stared at the masked youth, some chuckling and others unhappily snorting.
