When Xia Xingcheng woke up again, she found herself in the hospital instead of the bridal party of Xia Xingyan and Xu Hao after the white walls and the other stuff in the room. 

Her head was quite splitting as if to be knocked incessantly by a hammer.

"Bao..."

With a weak voice, she called faintly. But soon she coughed violently. After a long time lethargy without drinking water, her throat became dry and hoa.r.s.e.

No one came to give her a cup of water or care about her condition after she woke up even her father who stood right before the bed where she lay. Looking at her, her father asked coldly, "Now tell me. What kind of relations.h.i.+p between you and Sheng Yeting."

Now, she felt nothing but the gross when she faced her father.

The smelly stink on her father from his l.u.s.t for money made her headache fiercer.

Having no mood to answer her father's question, Xia Xingcheng supported herself with her hands and sat up, and then she tried her best to shout loudly, "Bao, come here."

"Be quiet. He isn't here." Her father frowned, his face full of impatience, "Xia Xingyan took him to have the lunch. All you need to do right now is to answer my question and tell me what kind of relations.h.i.+p is between you and Sheng Yeting."

Obviously, they wouldn't be so kind and Xia Xingcheng dared not to think what Bao would experience if he stayed with Xia Xingyan.

"It's none of your business." She put a long face and glared at him saying in a chilling voice, "I think I've made myself very clear. From now on, you go your way, and I will go mine. We don't interfere with each other, and this has gone on for many years. Let's just keep that."

"Okay. As you wish." With a sneer, her father nodded, "Then you can go wherever you want, but just you."

Xia Xingcheng reached out to throw the covers and then scrambled out of the bed, "I will take Bao with me. Don't worry, I won't bother you anymore."

"Sorry, you can't do that.  Bao is my grandson, so of course, he will stay in Xia Family. Besides, I don't think a person like you who humiliated herself can be a good mother."

Her father's words really hit her spot like the needle. Xia Xingcheng could even hardly speak.

The 'illegitimate child' he called when he saw  Bao still echoed near her ears, but now, thinking that  Bao might be the son of that famous Mr. Sheng with eminent family background, he immediately changed and even called  Bao his grandson. So ridiculous.

"I don't care what you said." Xia Xingcheng clenched her fists and raised her voice yelling, "I only want my son!" She had experienced a lot of things and now, nothing left around her and n.o.body cared about her and her life.

Five years of tough life abroad was enough for her to grow up and wake up from the past.

But she still survived from the most painful days because of Bao who companied with her all the time either the days living on the street or the nights she got a fever.

None of them could understand the meaning of Bao's existence for her, let alone her father who only cared about his own benefits.

"If you insist," Looking at her, her father said calmly, "sure I will give him back to you, but I heard that there is a project in Sheng Company called 'Thunder' which is looking for a partner of cooperation. I need you to persuade Mr. Sheng to cooperate with us."

It seemed like a simple requirement, but actually, both he and Xia Xingcheng knew clearly that so many Companies tried to get this project and they all failed. 

"You can rest a.s.sured. I never hurt children. Now take your time to do it."

After saying this, her father walked away directly. And Xia Xingcheng stood in the room trembling as if she was staying in an ice house.

She just met Sheng Yeting once accidentally and now where should she go to find him again?

As a person with such a high status as him, she couldn't even approach him. Then how could she get the chance to talk with him on the business?

Facing so many concerns, Xia Xingcheng still chose to take the initiative without any hesitation. She couldn't wait anymore and just wanted to leave the hospital as soon as she could and completed the 'job' her father required to get Bao back.

She searched on the internet and looked through all the news and information about Sheng Yeting. Most of them just adulated Sheng Yeting that he was a wonder man and the genius once in a hundred years. But Xia Xingcheng ignored them and quickly found the address of Sheng Company on the official website and wrote down. Then she discharged from the hospital and rushed to the Sheng Company.

It was afternoon when she finally arrived there. She raised her head looking at the tall building and was surprised. In the wide-open Lobby, the ceramic tiles on the ground were so clear that could even reflect the figures as a mirror.

"h.e.l.lo." She walked to the Reception and said in a hurry, "May I meet Mr. Sheng?"

However, the receptionist just asked coldly with a poker face after hearing what she said without glancing at her, "Do you have a reservation."

Reservation? Oh G.o.d! Where could she get the reservation since she didn't know the phone number of that man?

The receptionist seemed to have seen through her and refused directly before Xia Xingcheng answered, "Sorry, I can't let you get in if you don't have the reservation."

She couldn't leave right now but her unrecovered body was so weak that she almost fell down. Therefore, she walked to the door and squatted down holding the wall.

It was the hottest season now. The burning sun glared down to her so that Xia Xingcheng almost blacked out. She gritted her teeth and no matter how uncomfortable she was, she wouldn't give up.

She just kept waiting there until Sheng Yeting finally showed up after three hours in the evening.

However, Sheng Yeting was talking on the phone and didn't notice her at all. He got in the car and was going to leave while Xia Xingcheng stood up at once and rushed out, trying to call him to stop. But her throat was so dry that she could hardly speak out.

Meanwhile, the car with him already pa.s.sed her and almost disappeared in her sight. Xia Xingcheng now had no options but rushed forward and stood in front of the car. With a squealing brake, the car stopped right before her and Sheng Yeting who was sitting on the backseat also saw her. His face changed at once.
