Saying that, it was obvious that not anyone could pull it off, but when Kang Jun entered the ballroom, with an indifferent air, the many people who stood at the door held their breaths.
The man's entrance was not grand but because of his dominant and cold aura woman and even some men swooned at the sight.
This was Kang Jun.
Despite the man not usually appearing in public, they knew exactly who he was and even if they didn't they would feel the mans importance by the way he carried himself.
As people watched him, Kang Jun checked for the location of his table and then he left to go find it. The people continued to watch as he walked away and as he left, the crus.h.i.+ng cold aura dissipated causing some to give a sigh of relief.
Walking, Kang Jun wanted to sigh. He was completely jet-lagged from his afternoon flight and now, he had to attend an event? He hated things like this but he had no choice except to attend this one. There were two reasons for this, but only one of the two reasons interested him.
Making his way through the crowd, the people parted creating a clear path through. Once he arrived close to his table, one of the reasons he had graced the Starlight Event with his presence appeared in eyeshot.
Lu AnLing.
When he had come back to City T, he had immediately gone to Hotel Helios. He was extremely tired, but the first thing he wanted to do was to see Lu AnLing. So imagine his disappointment when he found out that she wasn't there?
Making use of his secretary, he asked Mr. Long to find out where the girl was. No matter her location Kang Jun was determined to go find her. When he found out that she was going to be at the Starlight Event, his whole body felt as if life had been restored to it.
Now the event would no longer be a painful one to experience.
And that was because she'd be there...
From not too far away, Kang Jun watched the girl in red lazily part her lips to speak, before straightening her back. She looked up to a woman in green with boredom and superiority.
Kang Jun felt something stir within him.
She looked really alluring.
Maybe it was because he hadn't seen her in a long time but to him, the girl looked magnificent and with that pose, her beauty was accentuated one hundred fold. The girl exuded confidence, and even if it was a facade, it attracted him. And, as he looked around the area around them he realized that he wasn't the only one. From the corner of their eyes, he saw many men look the girls way with l.u.s.t filled eyes. Their gazes triggered Kang Jun's icy glare.
How dare they look at her.
Though, quickly, the confidence Lu AnLing had disappeared and the girls face turned as white as a ghost.
Seeing this reaction, Kang Jun's condition worsened. Anger flared up in the deepest parts of the man's soul. Without even thinking, he began to walk over to them. He knew he couldn't do anything rash or obvious, so instead of using words, he b.u.mped into the woman in green's back. Hard.
"Watch were you're going!" The woman screamed Kang Jun's way.
But as soon as she turned around she was met with the man's broad chest and a coldness that could freeze anyone to death.
Kang Jun looked at the woman in the green dress and then he turned to look to his arm. He stared at it with obvious disgust. He thought it was a shame to touch her, even if it was with his suit, but it was for his future wife so he quickly got over it.
Watching him for a moment, w.a.n.g Tingting couldn't help but freeze.
She knew who he was.
The man before her was like the desolate plains of the tundra. His stare itself could make a person feel like they were alone and doomed to die a slow and painful death.
"I-I…" w.a.n.g Tingting didn't know what to say next.
Other people around her had the same reaction. The ones who saw Kang Jun s.h.i.+vered at his presence but other than that, they didn't move a muscle. They knew him well, so they didn't dare.
From afar, Liang Ke and Ning Jie who were walking back to their table watched the scene in confusion.
"Who's that man?" Ning Jie asked calmly.
Kang Jun was really good looking, and that was why he piqued the girl's curiosity. Seeing the girl's pupils dilated, Liang Ke couldn't help but scoff slightly.
'Don't even think about it…' Liang Ke wanted to say but instead, he asked, "You don't know?"
Ning Jie wanted to give him a 'no duh' expression but instead, she innocently shook her head.
"Should I?"
"Of course! It's the CEO of Kang Corps. The second young master of the Kang family and the successor to Kang Guanting; Kang Jun"
Liang Ke sounded like an announcer. His voice contained so much pa.s.sion and pride and there was a glint in the man's eyes as he said this. It was like he was watching a G.o.d, but no one could blame him.
On the other hand, at the mention of his name, Ning Jie's face darkened and then she put her hand on her mouth, demonstrating her shock.
Kang Jun was one of the closest things to a mortal G.o.d anyone in the room had ever seen. The man had been blessed with status, money, and looks but his personality was a shame. No woman in the room would dare approach Kang Jun. They knew his reputation when it came to women, and it wasn't good. The last woman to have touched him had apparently disappeared off the face of the planet and they didn't want to become like that.
Ning Jie: "That girl is so dead…"
Liang Ke was going to nod, but then he suddenly saw another man appear. Liang Ke's eyes sharpened, as he watched the man walk over to the woman in green before he stopped dead in his tracks.
He stared at Kang Jun for a second with bulging eyes before he regained his senses.
"Kang… no, ah elder brother, h.e.l.lo. I didn't know you were back…"
Kang Jun didn't turn to look at his younger brother.
Examining the situation for a moment, the man approached slightly. His eyes wandered between his brother and his woman. Seeing the woman's face completely drained of blood as she slightly s.h.i.+vered, he frowned and then asked, "Did Tingting do something to you?"
Kang Jun didn't say a word for a moment, creating an uncomfortable atmosphere.
Did she do something to him? No. But the woman did something to offend his future wife, and that couldn't be forgiven!
There were many things Kang Jun wanted to say but most of them would be an inconvenience to both him and Lu AnLing so instead, he turned to look to his younger brother.
"Kang Nianxi. Learn to control your woman."
Kang Nianxi turned pale.
With those words, Kang Jun glanced back to the table where Lu AnLing sat. He made sure to swoop over it, his eyes momentarily pausing on the beautiful girl, before he turned to find his seat.
w.a.n.g Tingting and Kang Nianxi's faces darkened simultaneously. Angry, the man held onto w.a.n.g Tingting's arm viciously, pulling her towards their table. Thank G.o.d it was located at the other side of the room or else, he would have died of embarra.s.sment.
Watching the three people in question part ways, many people began to whisper amongst themselves.
"That girl's an idiot. Kang Jun hates being touched by women! The last one who touched him disappeared."
"Actually, I heard she was so paranoid that she committed suicide, but frankly, President Kang tends to avoid others, so it was probably her fault…She's lucky she's with Kang Nianxi or else she would have ended up six feet under!"
"I know! Plus for that Tingting girl, who told her to stand there like that! She was blocking his way!"
The whispers were loud and clear to the ears of anyone in the premises but Lu AnLing couldn't hear a thing. She just stared at the table right in front of her.
There, the handsomely cold man sat with his clear eyes staring right back in her direction. In the room, many people were turning to look at Kang Jun, but the man ignored them all. His attention couldn't be swayed.
Lu AnLing examined the man's features curiously as if she was afraid that he was an apparition of her own mind. It had been a while since she'd last examined him and looking at it now, she felt as if she was being recharged.
She felt her heart skip a beat.
