I Deserve A Second Chance Chapter 16 - Know What You Want

Shao Yan was frozen on the spot. She didn't know what to do. Liwei was her first ever boyfriend, who finally became her husband. And then ex-husband.

She had very limited experience in relations.h.i.+p between male and female. She didn't know what this mean. She didn't know what Li Xiqing want.

Should she started to think too much about it? Should she started to read the signs?

Was it too early?

Was she too eager?

Was she being too narcissistic?!

Or.. let's just played it cool and acted like it's nothing?

But!! What was he trying to do? What was happening?

Her brain just went malfunction and Shao Yan was utterly confused.

She locked her door, and by habit, also checked all her windows even though she was on the thirteenth floor.

She decided to just think about it tomorrow as her mind and body were too exhausted now.

She washed the mugs, and then she took a long hot bath before going to sleep right away.

On his way home, Li Xiqing was thinking about one thing. Li Xiqing knew exactly what he wanted.

He wanted a woman named Shao Yan in his life.

He didn't think it was too soon to decide. Because he felt, that all of this was happening at the right time.

Li Xiqing didn't believe in love at first sight. But he did believe in attraction at first sight.

Shao Yan did exactly that. She captured his attention.

And yes, he doubted her before. But that's just because he had seen a lot of kinds of women.

Shao Yan was different. The more he talked to her, the more he understood her character, the more he could feel her charm.

The more longing he felt.

He smiled, propped his hand to the window and sped through the dark night.

Shao Yan woke up early the next day. Her schedule for Sunday was usually relax. She would spend her morning doing grocery shopping for the week.

She loved going to the S city farmer's market. She could find all the freshest fruits, vegetables and meat easily there. She enjoyed exploring rows by rows and just looked at everything.

In the afternoon, she would start preparing some ingredients for her meal for next week.

Shao Yan usually worked until late during the days. There were times when she would be running around the whole day, and not even had any spare time for dinner.

But when she did, she would have to whip something quickly when she arrived home. And that's why, she had all the vegetables and meat prepared beforehand.

In the evening, while waiting for the laundry to finish, she would just laze around in the living room. Either she would read some books, accompanied by her favorite tea. Or she would watch Chinese drama series while munching on sunflower seeds.

Sunday was her cheat day. She declared that she would not be doing anything serious on Sundays.

However, just like all good plans in the world, she could only PLAN all she wanted. But something would just came up to ruin it.

First thing: Qi Ling.

Shao Yan had totally forgotten that Qi Ling had sent a lot of text messages for her yesterday. She had not read them and Qi Ling called her on Sunday morning to wake her up.

Qi Ling knew that Shao Yan always turned off her phone when she sleep. So she purposely called the house phone.

Qi Ling was a dragon lady, and she wouldn't give up until Shao Yan picked it up.

"Good morning, suns.h.i.+ne! it's only 6am here in Singapore and I'm sure you have a wonderful 6am there too!", Qi Ling greeted her with full of sarcasm.

Shao Yan rubbed her eyes, and leaned back on the grey plush couch.

"Qi Ling, I swear, once I hung up, I'll empty your closet and throw everything away. I'm not even going to donate them. I'm throwing all your bags away!!", Shao Yan grumbled unhappily.

Qi Ling just laughed, now that she got Shao Yan's full attention.

"I'm flying to Bali tonight for my last shoot so I won't be able to call you for a while. That's why I'm so furious, you haven't checked my texts!"

Shao Yan could hear Qi Ling was opening a package of plastic bag on her end. Soon, she could hear, Qi Ling started to munch on something.

"Listen carefully. In the next few days, I don't know, maybe it could even be today, it could be tomorrow. Someone called Zhang Wei, will contact you."

Qi Ling stopped for a while to munch again.

Shao Yan started to rub her forehead.

Qi Ling's world's greatest hobbies, other than travelling around the world for her fas.h.i.+on shows, was to matchmake Shao Yan to any guys that she thought were cute.

"He's a doctor. Around 30 years old I think. Looks like Jacky Chan, but 20lbs (10kg) heavier." and before Shao Yan could say anything, Qi Ling continued, "But!! He's loaded. I saw him three times already, and he wore three different watches everytime!"

Shao Yan wasn't paying attention to her ramblings anymore. She grabbed the white furry pillow on the couch, curled herself and hugged it.

"I'm not talking about Casio kind. I'm talking Patek Phillippe, Audemars Piguet, and IWC Schaffhausen kinds!"

Qi Ling kept going on and on. While Shao Yan's mind was already drifted to the seven seas while mumbling "en" here and there to satisfy Qi Ling.

"Anyway, Xiao Yan Yan, open your heart and open your legs, okay! it's been two years. It's time to move on." Qi Ling spoke very gentle here, and that brought surprise to Shao Yan because Qi Ling was never gentle.

Shao Yan woke up right away.

"Ling Ling, I'm fine."

Shao Yan stifled a yawn, and stretched a little on the sofa.

"Don't worry. I aced the presentation, by the way. So I would be very busy for the next few months. I won't have time to fool around."

Shao Yan walked to the kitchen counter to pick up her gla.s.s and started drinking generously.

They talked about more nonsense stuff for a while before she hung up and went back to bed.

And then.. Second thing happened: her boss, dearest Mr. w.a.n.g.
