I Deserve A Second Chance Chapter 55 - Absolutely Stunning!

When Shao Yan came out of the dressing room, Fan jie saw her red face right away, but she didn't say anything.

She pursed her lips, and just inwardly shook her head. She was thinking, 'Young people nowadays ah~ Please be considerate to this old single dog~'

T_T so sad.. I want to be in love too!!

Maybe she should bribed Li Xiqing with Shao Yan's nude picture to get Karl's phone number?!

Shao Yan took her make up pouch from the bed and then sat down on the writing desk, totally oblivious to Fan jie scheming minds. She started to take out her makeup and applied her skin care meticulously. Fan jie looked at her, and then decided to walk over to help.

"Xiao Yan, your skin is already so good, I don't think you need to put on a heavy make up. You already have a natural blush here." Fan jie was drawing her eyebrows.

Shao Yan had her eyes closed, "En, Fan jie, I trust you. Just do as you see fit."

Li Xiqing came out of the dressing room after he made sure his brother had calmed down. He saw the two women were busying around with make up. He just patiently sat on the bed and worked on his emails from his phone.

Karl and Martin would also attend the party later. So he decided to send them a reminder not to be late.

Tonight, Fan jie decided to put on a white suit, specially tailored for women's figure. She had low cut white silk lace camisole which she paired with white ankle pants. And then she had white suit jacket on the outside and white heels.

To add to the final touch, she combined her whole outfit with a chain of minimalist gold necklace. Fan jie looked so cool tonight.

After about thirty minutes, Fan jie and Shao Yan were finally done with their make up. Shao Yan, who had been sitting with her back to Li Xiqing, finally stood up, and turned around.

He had been patiently waiting for her. Although at the last 15 minutes, he did not work on his phone anymore. Instead, he was watching her.

When Shao Yan stood up and turned around, his heart skipped a beat.

She looked absolutely stunning!

When she moved, her maroon gown which had speck of gold dust on it, also swayed along with her, made her sparkled beautifully.

The gold leaf emblem on her shoulder highlighted her snowy neck and softened her face even more.

Her skin was already creamy, so she opted for a light make up. Her eyebrows were drawn in simple brown color. For her eyeshadows, Fan jie and Shao Yan decided on light s.h.i.+mmer peach and light golden brown. For the tips of the inner eye, she dabbed soft golden glitters.

Shao Yan nervously looked at Li Xiqing, she was curious at what his opinion would be.

But she sighed a relief when she saw his burning gaze that paralyzed her; and then he gave a very gentle smile.

He walked closer while kept staring into her eyes. He took both of her hands and brought them up to his lips. He gently kissed her hands, "Very pretty."

Shao Yan blushed, and before she said thank you, Li Xiqing turned to Fan jie and said, "Thank you, for making Yan Yan even more stunning than before."

Fan jie was surprised at his sudden turn. She could only laughed nervously, "Ha.. Ha.. D..Don't mention it. Xiao Yan was already pretty to begin with. I did not do anything special. Ha.. Ha.."

Shao Yan smiled at her reaction. She tugged on their hands, "Let's go? I don't want us to be late." she spoke so softly at him.

He nodded and then held her hands and linked their fingers before walking out of the room with her.

Guests had started to arrive and the crowd gradually grew bigger. Luckily Wenhai and Li Na were keeping things on hand.

Once Fan jie, Shao Yan and Li Xiqing arrived downstairs, Fan jie quickly said, "Xiao Yan, you go with Daniel first. Just be a guest tonight." she patted her hand, "You've worked super hard these three months. Be a guest, enjoy the party and let us worry about the rest, alright?"

And then, before Shao Yan got the chance to say anything, Fan jie pushed Shao Yan to Li Xiqing arm, and winked at him, "All yours, Mister. Please feed her, she hasn't eaten at all." and then Fan jie swiftly walked away.

Li Xiqing frowned, and then turned to Shao Yan, "Did you lie to me this afternoon when I called?"

Shao Yan looked at him guiltily, "I was in a middle of something when you called, and then I got distracted" she gave him her best puppy eyes, "Don't be angry alright? I'm hungry now. Let's go eat"

She swiftly linked his arm and dragged Li Xiqing to the lobby area. Along the way, she kept chanting to herself: Must calm him down! Must calm him down quickly!

As this was a formal events, all the guests came dressed in formal gowns and formal suits. Everyone looked sparkling and fabulous.

Outside of the Grand Ballroom, Gold Crane had set up a c.o.c.ktail area. This was for the guests to enjoy before the main door opened.

All the guests were treated to exquisite arrays of appetizer while waiting, a group of cla.s.sical musician were sitting on the side, playing soft calming music with their instruments.

Shao Yan was standing on the side, nibbling on some food. Li Xiqing had selected smoked salmon bruschetta, grilled shrimp, and zucchini salad for her. After he handed her the plate, he left again to grab some drinks for them.

Li Xiqing always stood by her side tonight, and his figure was intimidating people to stay away. Seeing that Shao Yan was alone, some people would then approached her to have small talks every now and then.

"Good job, Shao Yan, the party looks great so far."

Shao Yan turned around and saw it was Cissy who was walking towards her.

"I'm surprised you could actually pull it off. " she paused, "Even though you're so busy dating around." she put her hands in front of her lips and chuckled softly.
