The CEO's Lovely Wife Chapter 116 - 116 Ma Rong's Regret

Ma Rong closed his red full lips tightly as he pause to look at his phone and check who he was calling, thinking if he dialled the wrong number. Somehow, his heart was full of utter surprise when he realized that the one he was talking to was really her best friend, October.

He could not believe this at all. Was this the same aloof and indifferent woman that he had known since young? Was this the same cold and calm October he knew and spent most of his time with? What is this? How come she had changed so much? This...was she...

"Be-berry...no, I mean...Is this the same October I knew since? Wait, did you got reincarnated or something? Or did you remember your past life? Just like those novels I usually read?! Ah! Am I still talking to my bestfriend? Noooooo~! Bring back my friend! Bring back my cold and indifferent Berry! Please, take my body instead! Just...no, I don't want to exchange my body with some evil wandering ghost but just leave us alone! Oh~! My Berry is still too young." Ma Rong started bawling his eyes out in a very exaggerated way. He kept talking making his thoughts to run wild and make unrealistic conclusions. He kept sobbing while wiping his eyes. He was so pitiful to look at with his shoulders shaking while he sob.

However, there was not a single tear that he had shed. Instead, Ma Rong's eyes were bright in mischievousness and his mouth was twitching as he controlled himself from bursting in laughter.

"Berry~! Come back! My poor Berry! You evil monster, let go of my friend's body! My Berry's beautiful body has already been tainted b-" Ma Rong was about to continue teasing October when he suddenly felt his hand going cold almost like it was freezing. A cool and dangerous air then blew right on his face down to his body to his very core. It was so cold that he could not stop himself from s.h.i.+vering. However, it did not stop from there for in the chilling air was a very dreadful and menacing aura that he could not ignore. 

Ma Rong closed his mouth shut and swallowed a lump in his throat loudly. The brightness in his eyes now vanished into dust as it was then replaced with anxiety. Even his smile was nowhere to be seen.

"Berry? October?" Ma Rong softly cold as he tested the waters. However, he was replied by a deafening silence on the other end. The growing silence was making him more apprehensive. He was just testing Octobers patience.

Ma Rong remembered that October was always calm and collected. She carries herself with grace, dignity, and elegance. She was also indifferent to almost anything and everything and they would always be left in wonder if she was a robot that only looked like human. To Ma Rong, there was something that strikes him most and that was October being the only person he knew who was devoid of emotions. Even if she was pushed away by that b.a.s.t.a.r.d of a man who only knows how to use his "little junior" with the school's number 1 beauty and even spat hurtful words to her, October did not bat her eye and shed a single tear when he turned his back on her and coldly left. She was then betrayed by that s.l.u.t who they once called "best friend" and got pregnant by October's father, making that s.l.u.t to secure her position as the new "Madam" of the Park Real Estate Empire and climb over October's head. She even incited that cold-hearted Peizhi who October once called her "father" to disown his own daughter for that s.l.u.t. 

What was more was that, Ma Rong was not there for her when she need him the most. This was making him feel so guilty and his heart felt like his heart was being peirced with a thousand needles. He did not imagine that after he run away from home, his cold but kind friend would face those kinds of experiences all on her own. He just could not fathom her pain and grief. Despite her not showing any emotions, he knew that no human being in this world would not feel anything. Just that, October maybe does not know how to express her emotions well than the others. Because of that, people around her took advantage of this. They forgot that October was just an innocent girl and abused her cold and indifferent personality.

Because of this, Ma Rong grew to hate himself in leaving October behind, all alone to fend for herself. He does not know how she got back to her feet but he knew that someone helped October a lot in her dire state, both financially and emotionally.

As Ma Rong was deep in thought, October was keeping herself from exploding in anger. She suddenly had this urge of shouting to Ma Rong and tell him to stop saying such incredulous things, even suggesting on giving her husband to him. The more she listened, the darker her face was. She was already in the point of bursting into madness and curse at this d.a.m.ned man. It was so vexing that her breathing was shaking. She knew that her nerve popped on her head. 

October closed her eyes as soon as she drop to her seat and took a long and deep breath to calm her pulsating nerves. When it comes to talking "trash" and pulling all the strings of your patience, then she knew that Ma Rong best at doing these things and there was no one best at doing that than him.

With that said, Ma Rong finally noticed her long silence, making him to finally, thanfully shut his big mouth. October sighed again. She knew that Ma Rong was just looking after her and was just trying to make the mood a bit lighter. However, as always, he was bad at it...terribly bad. 

"You are still the same as ever, Rong'er." October softly said as she rested her chin on her hand while blankly looking at nothing. 

Ma Rong laughed awkwardly but did not say anything as he run his fingers through his soft and long hair. He leaned on his chair comfortably, but his eyes were still filled with worry and guilt.

"And what about me having been robbed off of my body? And you even said that I died? Really now?" October rolled her eyes at this as she jokingly added, "You really like to weave stories, huh? Why don't you write a story of your own? Hm? I'm sure it will be a big hit!"

Ma Rong blinked his eyes in disbelief. He felt like he had just heard her wrong. Is...is October making a joke out of him right now? He was dumbdfounded. Has time already come for his best friend and had finally changed her? And she now even knew how to crack jokes? Even if the joke was on him, he did not care as relief washed over him and a geniune and beautiful smile formed on his full red lips, making all of the female pa.s.sengers waiting for them to board the plane awestruck at his otherwordly looks.

"I'm glad, so glad that you're finally changing and showing various emotions. So relieved that you've finally found happiness for yourself." Ma Rong said as loud as a whisper. He said this so softly that October was not able to hear him clearly.
