The CEO's Lovely Wife Chapter 90 - 90 Ring: His Promise To Her

Lexus stared at October's pink face long and hard. He then landed a quick peck on her nose and felt satisfied at the sight of her widening eyes. She was really beautiful and cute at the same time. 

October, on the other hand, rested her hands on his hard chest as she tilted her head to look up. At this close proximity, she can feel his hot minty breath hitting her face. As her eyes wandered around his perfectly sculptured face, her eyes landed on his red lips. 

"Ah!" Without much thinking, she reached out her hand and rubbed her fingers on his lips and said, "My lipstick's on you." 

Lexus was quite taken aback at her actions but then chuckled when he heard her say that in the most unfeeling tone. Sometimes, he really doubt if October would be interested in him. Looking at it, she always returned back into her normal stoic self almost instantaneously. It was like there was a switch on her.

"My wife must have been tired. Let's eat dinner. I'm hungry." Lexus smilingly said as he took hold of her hand and pulled her to sit on a chair before sitting down beside her. Just like usual, he started to serve her. 

"You eat first. Tell me what do you think about it." October said as she lightly pushed the food to Lexus. She was nervous alright. Yes, she did cook for him that one time but she was still not sure if he would like it. Taking into account that they just started living together and knowing each other, she still hasn't grasped his palate fully. 

Lexus raised his brow about it but still did as what she told. As soon as he tasted her honeyed vegetables, it was really delicious that he took another bite. It was not that he had never eaten this dish, it was just that there was an extra feel to it. Just the thought that she cooked food with her thinking of him, it was really such a great feeling.

"This is really good. Eating home-cooked dishes made by my wife really is the best." Lexus said to her with a glint in his eyes but then his face turned solemn.

Noticing the change in him, October asked, "What? Is there something wrong with my dish?"

"Just that..." Lexus paused, and with a mischievous glint in his eyes, before continuing to say, "...I'm conflicted if I should eat this dish first or eat you."

October's blood rushed up to her face and dyed it in red and a frown formed on her face. "That's not funny at all." 

Saying that, she turned to the table and ate mouthfu after mouthful of food till her cheeks puffed. She could not care less about how she looked like a pig ot hamster right now but she was just so angry about him. He just could not have a conversation with her without dropping a dirty joke! Tch! And it was even a joke told with a straight face! It was so frustrating ah!

She's also pretty with her angry face and puffed cheeks . Lexus thought with s.h.i.+ning eyes. But he also thought that he should stop his teasing now or his small plan will be ruined. Yeah, he should tread carefully.

"Okay, I'll stop now." Lexus softly said with a doting gaze directed at October. 

The two continued to have small idle chatter throughout their dinner. Just that, their topic were mostly all about business-related topics for which October opened herself. Considering that she took the initiative to talk, it was already a big step for her to be sociable, even just for a little. 

Lexus also noticed this and was more than happy to oblige with all the topics that his wife wanted to talk about. The more she talk, the more he found her really interesting and wonderful. She really knows what she was doing and have a clear mind to make decisions. 

Lexus found himself drawn to her more and more. Even just a blink from her, he wouldn't want to miss it for he relish every single gesture she made and even more so realized that she was really beautiful. 

After dinner, October wanted to clean the table but Lexus did not want her to exert more work than she already did. She was an a.s.sistant director in a big company so it was only natural that she also has a considerable amount work to do. 

Lexus securely held October's small hands with his and gently pulled her toward a certain direction. It was also at this time that October realized that she still haven't had the time to walk around the mansion for she only knew where their room, the lobby, study room and the kitchen. This time, she noticed that the mansion was really magnificent aside from it bring really huge. Thinking of this, she quite missed her small apartment. 

"Where are we going?" October asked as she kept her eyes forward and took note of the turns they took. She has to at least memorize this bit for now.

"You'll see." Lexus said, sounding mischievous and mysterious at the same time. He then tightened his hold of her and felt like his heart quickened it's pace. He was very nervous and yet also excited. 

October gave him a sideway glance but did not ask further. As far as she knows, he would not tell her about it. No matter where it was, she will still follow him willingly.

"We're here." Lexus smiled gently at the stunning woman beside him and with a click of the door, he swung it open and revealed a back garden with flowers in full bloom. 

October was quite shaken at the sight of it. Without much thinking, she walked out of the mansion and got mesmerized by the night view of the garden. Under the white light from the full moon coupled with the night fresh wind, the floral scents from all of the flowers planted in the garden mixed together in the air and surrounded her. 

The moon was not that bright but the view had a quite surreal feeling into it. October can already picture how beatiful the garden was during the day, but the night's view was also magical.

"My love, I am not a good person and I lack on a lot of aspects. We just met not too long ago but the times where I don't see you seemed like decades long. The day, no, the night when you first came cras.h.i.+ng into my life, I was already mesmerized by you, you know? I am clumsy and our future is still long where problems will surely arise but one thing is for sure, the time when you came into my life was the time where something clicked in me and the incomplete life I had became complete." Lexus gently said as he walked toward October with a gentle and loving gaze. The woman before him may not show emotions or expression in front of others but she never failed to show it to him. To him, this was the only thing he was most proud of. 

October looked over as soon as she heard him talk and was really flabbergasted at the things he was saying. She doesn't know why but the moon's light seemed to give a halo on the handsome man standing before her.

A gentle chuckle then escaped from Lexus' dry throat as he gently took her hand. Slowly, the lights in the garden slowly brightened and formed into a giant red rose.

What is this? What's happening? 

Suddenly, under the confused gaze of October, Lexus bent his knee and showed a three-stoned engagement ring silently glimmering under the moon's light.

"Even though I might be late in doing this but I wanted to do this right and imbued this moment in our hearts. Yeah, it is kind of cheesy, I know. I will love and devote myself to you and only you. So Miss Lanna October Park, will you formally marry me? Please?" For the first time in his life, Lexus felt nervous and scared at October's answer.
