They then made sure to thank me for the help.
The captured men, including Norio, would be put on trial the next day.
The videos would be used as the ultimate evidence against their heinous crimes.
To be honest, the police isn't an ent.i.ty that was very much explored in the series. Although officer Jenny was present in the anime, that's not even close to being canon.
The police in this world seemed much more realistic and organized... Which didn't really surprise me.
At this point, the sky was already dark. I thus made my way towards the Pokemon Center and rented a room for the night.
"Ahh, finally some privacy. Come on out, little guy."
I said this while retrieving a Pokeball from my spatial storage, throwing it onto the bed.
With a flash of red light, a group of cracked-eggs appeared on the bed. They looked at me with fear as they trembled.
I raised my hand a little, and as it approached them... They trembled, even more, letting out soft cries for help.
"What horrible things must they have they done to you..."
With a soft expression, I patted Exeggcute, and it soon stopped trembling. I felt a warm connection flow through my body when I touched it.
Exeggcute threw itself on me and cried non-stop. I let it do so until it fell asleep on my lap.
Charmeleon watched silently, before cuddling with me and Exeggcute, offering some warmth.
Exeggcute's sleeping-face soon became a little less strained.
Once Charmeleon was asleep too, I asked for the system to showcase the data on Exeggcute.
The usual semi-transparent box appeared on top of it.

That's a ma.s.sive special attack stat... Furthermore, it has a modest nature.
I seem to have hit the jackpot once more.
What's up with all of my main Pokemon having 31 IVs all round?
I refuse to believe that the System doesn't have anything to do with it. There must be some kind of hidden feature that I don't know of.
I mean, It's usually super rare and takes years of breeding.
Oh well, whatever. I'll take care of this little Exeggcute until it feels better.
Hopefully, my special talent at befriending Pokemon comes in handy this time.
I'll teach it confidence, love, determination and many other things!
But first I need to sleep.
------------------------------------
The next day, I woke up to a snoring Exeggcute and Charmeleon. Before moving, I woke them up slowly.
Once Exeggcute was awake, it showed fear at first. But then, it recalled last night's events and stuck to me all morning.
I had to put it in its Pokeball for it to finally calm down.
Honestly... At least it's good that it likes me.
In the center's restaurant, I ordered breakfast for myself and my two companions.
At first, Exeggcute was hesitant, but with the help of some prompting, it started to eat. Once it tasted the normal food, it screamed in joy and gobbled down the plate in seconds.
"That probably was its very first decent meal... Team Rocket, I'm not letting any of this go."
I then thought of the amount of Pokemon that had to go through what Exeggcute had to...
Unforgivable.
After we had our fill, we got ready and headed out into the city once more.
Before heading to Mt.Moon, There's one last place that I'd like to visit.
The Pewter City-Museum.
I want to see if it really is worth all of the talk.
Walking for a while, I slowly made my way towards it. When I got there, I was surprised by the scale of the place.
It looked at least three or four times bigger than in the games.
Entering, I paid the fee and started looking around with Charmeleon. Exeggcute is not used to people yet, so I kept it in its Pokeball.
Well, that's just an excuse. If I don't do that it pesters me all the time and I can't get anything done.
As I observed all of the exhibitions, I was pretty interested. It's always nice to learn more about historical facts when it comes to the Pokemon world.
"Shawn-San!"
Not caring for the loudness of his voice, Red started shouting at me from the other side of the hall. He still had his Bulbasaur in his arms.
The only difference this time was that there was a small electric mouse on his shoulder.
I don't know this guy. Stop looking at me like that... Please.
"Shawn-San! I heard that you defeated some of Team-Rocket's grunts yesterday! Oh, and this is Pika."
When they heard Red's statement, the people around changed their expressions and started cheering.
Feeling embarra.s.sed, I laughed awkwardly and quickly dragged Red away.
"You're famous Shawn-San, good for you!"
"How did you know about the whole Rocket incident?"
"Ah, that. I was at the police department yesterday at the time when they brought them in. I was there to report a scam... A guy with gla.s.ses sold me some items that he proclaimed would make Bulbasaur stronger. I was happy to find out that you also caught him."
d.a.m.n that Norio. I really did well to send that guy to jail.
Back to Red though, someone needs to teach this guy public decency.
With this dude next to me I always become the center of attention for some reason. I really need to stay low-key right now.
I forced a smile and started some small talk, hopefully, he'll leave me alone in a while.
"Hi, Red. How's your journey coming along?"
"Awesome! I got the Boulder-Badge from Brock, and I learned a lot from him in our battle!"
With a happy expression, he retrieved his Badge-Holder and showed me his trophy.
"Nice, Brock sure was tough. Charmeleon had a hard time."
"Charmeleon? Oh d.a.m.n!"
Red then turned his gaze towards Charmeleon and inspected it. He looked very impressed.
He swiftly retrieved his Pokedex and scanned the former.
"The Flame-Pokemon huh... I can't wait for Bulbasaur to evolve."
Hearing his words, I asked the System to scan his Bulbasaur. It was at level fourteen.
"Your Bulbasaur looks strong and healthy. The bulb on it's back is starting to open, meaning it's very close to evolving. Don't worry."
"Really? Did you hear that, Saur? You're going to evolve soon!"
"Bulba!"
As we continued our conversation, a member of the museum's staff walked up to us. She was holding two flyers with questions on them.
"h.e.l.lo! By entering the museum today, you are automatically eligible to partic.i.p.ate in the annual quiz! This quiz is performed at a different time every year, making the compet.i.tion fair!"
"Do you wish to partic.i.p.ate? The main prize is a rare fossil!"
A fossil? Yeah, I could use that. I nodded and took a flyer. Red did so too.
I then looked at the questions. They were about Prehistoric Pokemon.
Although there were some extremely tough ones, with the help of the System, I completed them in no time.
Rare fossil, here I come.
