The air was chilly as the temperature of the room seemed to have fallen by a few degrees, every official, as well as attendants, looked at the scene around them with serious eyes.

By now, Milon had a dark look on his face when he stared at both Kelvin and Alia before he spoke," Kelvin, Alia, what's the meaning of this?"

Kelvin sneered as he replied, "City Head Milon, it seems you're rather confused about today's matters, but don't worry, I shall enlighten you."

As Kelvin said this, he snapped his finger, following this the door to the room burst open as a few persons with high powered weapons ran into the room with cold looks in their eyes. These persons then proceeded to surround not only Milon but even Evan's and Leo's party, sealing off all escape routes. 

Evan and the others looked at the scene around them in calmness, as Leo, Razel, Julie with the others, looked at the scene around them with a severe gaze.

Mark was pleased with this; his eyes lit up as he laughed inwardly, 'Haha! Excellent, father was right, I didn't even need to do anything, today will be the day all will fall into place!'

A few other officials had dark faces as they looked at the scene before them with discontent, the negotiations were even successful, but it seemed that Kevin wasn't satisfied. Still, none of them said anything as they knew just how much military power the Andersons owned.

Vernisa shook her head at this scene while looking at Razel while thinking, 'I guess this is where that boy said that I'd need to make my stand... heh, he truly must have grown cheeky on his time in that camp.'

Wilma, who saw the sudden change had a dark look on her face, her hair rose above her head as the entire room began to shake as if gravity was being manipulated.

A few officials couldn't help but shrink back, but only Evan and Leo's party along with a few others didn't seem to be phased.

As if he noticed this scene, Vawn and Manager Paulson looked at each other before s.h.i.+fting their eyes to the party of cloaked individuals. The other party then looked at them, not saying anything.

"Kelvin, how dare you act like such before the city head?" Wilma shouted as her eyes glowed in black light, causing the gravity to rise by another scale.

Evan was a bit surprised as he thought, 'Such an intriguing ability...'

While Joe and the others were a bit shocked but it, Kelvin looked at Wilma with a slightly serious expression before he snorted and spoke, "Wilma, I've always known that your strength was only one step inferior to our own. However, don't think that you can save this traitorous b.a.s.t.a.r.d with just your power today!"

When Wilma heard his form of address, her eyes grew colder as she prepared to attack, but right at this time, Milon, who was observing the situation, spoke, "Wilma, fall back."

"Sir Milon!" Wilma wanted to reject the idea, but Milon looked at her and spoke even louder, "Fall back!"

Wilma, hearing this lowered her head, her terrifying gravity powers fading away as her hair returned to normal. She clenched her fists tightly and walked over to his side.

Milon looked at her with a soft light before he looked at Kelvin and spoke again, "You say I'm a traitor? Haha, well, Kelvin, do please elaborate on how I've schemed against our people?"

Kelvin smirked as he looked at him and replied, "Of course, Milon Morison, as the lead of the City of Hope, you are tasked with the protection of all human lives and secrets, ensuring that all stays within its boundaries. Under your watch, no rules should be infringed upon, doing so will lead to systematic punishment of all involved, regardless of status."

As Kelvin spoke, Milon narrowed his eyes as he had yet to hear anything that could be considered a breach of his duties. Soon though, Kelvin looked at Milon with a strange look as he licked his lips prepared to speak a speech he'd written for years. 

The others looked at him as he continued to speak, "However, despite this, you have failed in your duties in recent years. You failed to prevent the Anti Human Faction from creating a mess in our domain, failing to properly provide sufficient command to the defense of two Checkpoints causing ma.s.sive losses to many in the last major a.s.sault. You have failed in deploying a proper squad to scout the outside world and gather necessary details in the current year. More recently, you have failed to properly punish your son, allowing him to directly interfere with the private engagement between our two clans. You've even failed to prevent outsiders from entering our domain, with your son personally bringing them to our lifeblood, the very city of hope unaware of their objectives, and even crucially sharing sensitive information about our kind. In the end, it turned out that they had come with good intentions, what would you have done in a scenario that they were here with bad will? What do you have to say for yourself?"

When everyone heard this, they all know that his earlier words were no more than a form of pretext to b.u.t.ter up the core issues at hand.

They all looked at Milon in silence, awaiting his words, Leo gritted his teeth at this as he looked at Julie. She stared at him deeply before nodding as they rose to their feet, holding hands as they stood side by side, ignoring the soldiers with weapons pointed at them.

Leo then spoke loudly, "I Leo Morison, would like to make a stand!"

Kelvin, Milon, Vernisa, and the others s.h.i.+fted their eyes towards him, as Mark made an annoyed look when he saw Leo holding Julie's hand. He pondered with a savage expression, 'That b.a.s.t.a.r.d! What's he got to say now?'

Leo stared at everyone before speaking again, "While I can't make a statement on the issues discussed prior, I believe that my father isn't to blame for my actions and that I should be more than able to take on the necessary punishment for my choices. However, this is only in regards to the matter of sharing information, as for the issue with Julie Wester, I won't make comments on that as I believe everyone here should already have an understanding of who truly is trying to sever a perfect relations.h.i.+p."

As Leo said this, he even held Julie's hand tightly as the two of them faced the world with pride, they didn't care about what anyone else thought and believed that their affections were beyond the likes of even many others in the room.

The crowd looked at Leo in surprise; a few couldn't help but show newfound looks, as they had previously believed him to be some kind of failure.

Alia Wester frowned as she spoke, "Julie, get over here right now! You have shamed our family long enough. We haven't even gone over the fact that you left your a.s.signed post to frolic with this b.a.s.t.a.r.d in Checkpoint 05, how could you dare to have an affair with this Morison when you are engaged to Mark?"

Julie didn't stay quiet this time, she glared at her aunty and spoke, "I don't need the likes of you to tell me who I can and can't love, Alia! When my father and mother were still around, you didn't have such guts, what made you think you can sell me out to gain your advantages?"

Alia's face turned red with anger as she heard this, she shouted while slamming the desk, "You ungrateful little wench, I dare say that if it weren't for my upbringing, you'd have been in a s.h.i.+t hole after you lost those two outlaws. You should know whom you're speaking with!"

Julie didn't even pay her any mind as she looked away, but Leo didn't like her tone, he spoke in a cold voice, "Alia, you might be in current high standing, but as a man, I won't stand by and watch as you try to bad mouth my woman. What thing are you to tell her to know her place?"

Alia hearing this clenched her palms tightly, looking at Leo with icy eyes. Mark, who listened to everything, snorted as he rose to his feet similarly and spoke, "What right do you have to speak to an elder like such in this gathering? Not only have you bewitched my fiancée, but you've also even gone and shown the makings of an uncouth individual!"

The others scoffed at his words; as they wondered what gave him the right to speak, he seemed to have forgotten his status.

Kelvin glared at Mark who shuddered before taking a seat, he then looked at Leo similarly, but unlike Mark, Leo didn't back down.

'This punk has got s.p.u.n.k at the very least...' Kelvin thought before fixing his eyes onto Milon, who had an ugly expression when Leo spoke.

Kelvin sneered, "What's wrong city head? Have you nothing to say, even your son had admitted his guilt?"

Milon sighed before he looked at Leo ignoring anything else in the room, the scene seems to be only the two of them in the world as he spoke, "Son, are you sure about your stance?"

Leo hearing his father's words, looked at him deeply before he spoke, "I will push forward regardless of the obstacles father."

Milon looked at Leo deeply, s.h.i.+fting his eyes to Julie that stood by his side, at this moment he felt a tinge of pride as he thought, 'He's just like she was back then... truly, his mother's child.'

After clearing his thoughts, Milon's eyes grew sharp as the scene returned to normal. He focused his attention on Kelvin and spoke, "I've heard your claims, and while some a fraudulent, I frankly don't want to waste any more time. So, Kelvin, how do you expect me to answer to these so-called crimes?"

Kelvin smirked as he heard those words, he glared at Milon and snapped his fingers, causing the men with the weapons to point them at him as he spoke, "It's simple, all you have to do is renounce your position as head, and I shall graciously accept the role in your stead. We can do this the easy way, or we can go about it more harshly."

When the others in the room heard this, they looked at Milon with pitiful gazes, each knowing full well that whichever choice was taken by the city head, it wouldn't lead to a good end.

Leo seeing his father state, glanced at Razel, Oron, and Irene, who nodded as it seemed they were readying themselves for something.

Evan looked at this scene with pensive eyes, noticing that a few individuals such as Vawn and those unusual cloaked individuals had vanished from the room.

'I suppose it would be best to cement our foundation by showing some of our strength... waking them from their petty little affairs,' Evan thought as he watched indifferently, he glanced at Rick and the others who were already prepared as they had already taken out their weapons, causing even the soldiers to look at them with uneasiness.

At this time, Milon who had already thought about his choice, glared at Kelvin with a smirk as he spoke in a tone that sounded in the minds of everyone, "Ha, Kelvin you truly are a greedy fool, since you want the position of City Head, then take it! However, to claim it, you must be willing to part with that life of yours!"

Following Milon's shout, a dazzling power erupted from his body, pus.h.i.+ng away many others in the room, creating a chaotic scene.

Kelvin smirked as if this was what he truly wanted since the beginning, he pointed his finger at him and spoke in a cold tone, "Okay, men take him down!"

The scene soon transforming in entirety as if it was akin to a battle zone, as now, only the sinister glowing lights from the different weapons aimed at Milon began to s.h.i.+ne brightly, foreshadowing the climax of the meeting.
