A colossal bang resounded as an explosion formed at the center of the meeting room. This was the result of the combined a.s.sault of the plasma rifles that the soldiers had fired towards City Head Milon at Military Leader Kelvin's command.

Following this explosion, a shockwave spread across the room, pus.h.i.+ng away everyone within proximity. However, as those within this meeting room were all strong Evolvers, they had easily retreated from a range of impacts.

The pristine wooden table was nowhere to be seen, as it had been vaporized by the plasma rays, leaving behind small chunks of burning wood.

Yet, most surprising, the target of this devastating a.s.sault from human ingenuity was still standing in one piece, looking to be unphased by the previous attack. Around Milon was a barrier of blackish energy as Wilma, whose hair stood upward, was now standing directly before him with cold eyes.

The soldiers that fired the plasma guns looked at the scene before them in shock, their backs filled with sweat, though they had antic.i.p.ated Milon surviving, they didn't think that someone other than him could so easily prevent the plasma rays.

Kelvin snorted as he saw this scene, he spoke in an icy tone, "Wilma... it seems that your dead set on interfering, fine then, I will take you both down myself."

As Kelvin said this, the air grew cold as a frigid aura was released from his body, even his hair turned to that of a bluish hue as he glanced at the soldiers and commanded, "Don't stand around, join the others in preventing those brats from escaping!"

"Yes sir!" The soldiers replied as they promptly left the area hurrying to were Evan and the others were blocked off.

Kelvin then glanced at Alia and wink, causing Alia to blush before she cast a poisonous look towards Leo and the others.

Kelvin smiled as he saw Alia left, he looked at Evan's direction and sneered inwardly, 'Haha! Such fools, did they think that I would even let them off? The only reason I even let them speak is to gather basic information, now that they were foolish enough to show us its source, none of them will be leaving.'

Having wrapped up his thoughts, Kelvin then s.h.i.+fted his attention back to Milon, who had now tapped Wilma's shoulder, causing her to remove her barrier formed by manipulating the forces of gravity.

"You did well, Wilma, but leave him to me, as for that b.i.t.c.h at his side, I'll leave her to you..." Milon said as he vaguely glanced at Alia, who left with the soldiers.

Wilma hesitated for a bit before she replied, "Alright, I'll do as wish."

Having made her decision, Wilma was about to make her move, but right at this time, a snort was heard followed a cold voice, "Hmph! As if I'd let you, Ice Cage..."

Instantly, the ice below Kelvin's feet expanded, soon encompa.s.sing the entire center of the room; it rose at its edges and formed high walls that continued to grow before meeting a central point, creating a dome of ice that trapped the trio within it.

'd.a.m.n! He's grown even stronger with his abilities...' Milon cursed inwardly as he realized that he might have taken Kelvin a bit too lightly.

Wilma also narrowed her eyes at this, she conjured a dense amount of power around her fist and dashed towards the edge of the ice dome, smas.h.i.+ng her fist onto its frigid walls.

Bang! The wall shook as a tiny fissure formed before fixing itself, Kelvin chuckled as he spoke, "Girl, this skill of mine is well prepared, don't just think that anyone can break it."

Wilma seeing this frowned as she thought, 'This b.a.s.t.a.r.d, I've heard rumors of his abilities but never this one, he must have been preparing this ace for a long time.'

Milon glanced at Wilma, who turned to look at him, the two seem to know each other's thoughts as they understood they might need to work together to beat him at a faster rate.

Kelvin sneered at this as his aura rose even further with a loud bang, scattering cl.u.s.ters of icy power across the surroundings as his eyes shone in a blue ray and hair fluttered wildly.

"Haha! Now show me what the combination of the rumored adulterous pair can do!" Kelvin said in a mocking tone.

Milon's eyes sunk as he glared at Kelvin in anger, his flaming energies rising even further as they burned away most of the surrounding ice.

"I'll show you that a greedy b.a.s.t.a.r.d like you have no right to comment on my personal affairs!" Milon said his prestige now being comparable to that of Kelvins.

"Flaming Cannon!" Milon yelled as his figure blurred appearing within Kelvin's range in less than a few seconds, he struck his fist forwards, causing a cl.u.s.ter of flames to blast forward, looking no different from a burning ray.

Kelvin snorted, adopting a defensive posture as he placed his hands before him and invoked his skill, "Ice Wall!"

Following his words, the ice below his feet instantly rose before him forming into a 10 inches thick, 2-meters-tall, and 4-meter wide wall of ice. Milon's fist and flaming energies crashed into it with an indomitable momentum.

BOOM! A new explosion erupted, shaking the grounds of the Hall of Governance due to their resulting collision.

Moments after the flames faded, showing Milon fist which had pressed deeply into the wall of ice, leaving behind a wide melted fissure than spanned more than 90 percent if it.

Milon wasn't surprised by this, their powers were even the begin with, with Kelvin having a slight breakthrough in the mastery of his ice techniques. 

'Hmph! He really did breakthrough with that Ancestral Gene of his… it seems I can't hold back anymore,' Milon thought, but he didn't say anything, he merely looked at Kelvin with a sneer, as he saw that the latter was only staring at him from behind the cracks in the ice wall.

Instantly, above Kelvin 's head, Wilma had appeared. She used her gravity power to push away the ice around her and stabbed a long blade towards him as she ushered, "Gravity Field!"

Buzz! A strange sound reverberated as Kelvin felt his entire body become heavy, his feet even left cracks into the ground.

He clicked his teeth and looked up towards Wilma, who now descended at twice her speed due to the increase in gravity. The blade in her arm s.h.i.+mmering in a baleful light as it punctured towards his forehead.

"Not today!" Kelvin said as he placed his armed together and invoked another skill, "Ice Armor!"

Following a series of cracking noise, a densely packed armor of ice formed around Kelvin's entire body, it gleamed in a manner like that of a diamond.

Ting! Despite Wilma's Gravity Field, her blade only managed to pierce a small section of Kelvin's armor before pausing, sending a few sparks about the air.

Wilma grit her teeth and cursed inwardly, 'Darn, how can it be so tough?'

As if Kelvin knew her thoughts, he snickered and sent a punch towards her while speaking, "You foolish girl, I was called the Diamond Tank for a reason!"

Swoos.h.!.+ Kelvin's punch swept through the wind as it hurled towards Wilma, who looked at it with a pale look, she was even too late to move. However, before it could contact her, Kelvin's eyes shrunk as he saw a flaming ray coming towards him once more.

Whoos.h.!.+ With a sway of his body, he narrowly avoided a flaming spear that fired pa.s.sed him before cras.h.i.+ng into the walls of the Ice Cage. With a bang, it left a ma.s.sive crater in the wall before dissolving, the wall then once more healed itself at a rapid rate.

Kelvin glared at Milon in astonishment as he backed up a bit, giving himself distance from the duo that had regrouped. He spoke in a dark tone, "Hmph! So, it seems you've also awakened another Ancestral Gene Skill..."

Milon, whose eyes blazed with fire, glared at Kelvin as he spoke, "You think you're the only one who can improve after nearly a decade? Tsk, you think too highly of yourself..."

When Milon spoke, his body exploded with more firepower, as a blazing spear formed at his size once more.

Wilma's gravity power also erupted in full, as the two prepared to crush him in one blow. Kelvin gritted his teeth at this as he cursed his mind, 'd.a.m.n! I knew it wouldn't have been so easy, what's taking those fools so long to take action?'

As Kelvin thought here, hue couldn't help but feel helpless, but he didn't have the time to ponder as their battles once more continued.

Unlike the chaotic clash within the cage of ice, the outside though filled with tension, was rather peaceful. Other than sweating soldiers that hesitantly ensured that none from Evan's and Leo's party could leave, no one saw any world-ending final battles.

Joe yawned in a bored manner as he wiped the corner of his eyes and spoke, "How boring... when is this third-rate scheme going to end? I am getting tired of sitting around and doing nothing..."

Evan chuckled and replied, "You spoke too soon, Joe, it's is only beginning."

Joe was somewhat intrigued; he looked at Evan and spoke, "Eh? Are you saying that theirs a plot within the plot?"

Evan smirked, not even replying, his eyes hinting towards the closed door. Joe finally felt a tinge of danger, as everyone in Evan's party had dark, serious looks when they stared at the door.

Rick gripped his spear, Layla gripped her staff, and everyone adopted a more battle-ready posture, ignoring the soldiers that still pointed at them with plasma guns.

"Hey! W-What are blabbering about?" One soldier said in a slightly hesitant manner as his gun shook in his arms.

'Finally ready, I see... then I suppose I should get a bit serious,' Evan thought as his eyes flashed in a harmful ray, sending a terrifying reddish aura into the minds of all the weak Level 3 and 4 soldiers.

The soldiers instantly grasped their head and cried it horror before they collapsed onto the ground, losing consciousness. The one who spoke before, had foam in his mouth as he spun and smashed onto the ground.

The scene now took on an uncanny mood, as everyone looked at Evan in a manner akin to the devil from the most bottomless pits from h.e.l.l.
