Unfortunately, due to the thick vegetation in the Forest of Spiders, getting into perfect formations is almost impossible. There's always bound to be a blind spot; whether it be in the treetops, beneath the bushes, or just simply behind a tree. If a player wasn't looking hard enough, those spots were the perfect spots to hide for both monsters and players.
Currently, Harrison and Luke were both hiding on the ground beneath two large bushes which seemed to sprawl out for a minimum of a few metres. Their s.h.i.+elds on their backs, covering them up even further as the group swiftly placed a few leaves and sticks on him.
Hayley and Maddy were both far in the distance behind a tree, both of their bows were nocked, and their bowstrings were pulled back as far as they could be pulled back. Their heads poked out of the tree cover the slightest amount, allow for one of their eyes to see all the action.

Jose was in front of the two girls, currently on top of a tree branch, keeping an eye from the sky. He watched as the guild was idiotic enough to walk past Harrison and Luke without spotting them; they were only roughly 2 – 3 metres away when walking past.
He grinned when the Mages and Archers were next to walk past Harrison and Luke; they were the main target, after all. If it wasn't for the Mages dealing damage and pus.h.i.+ng them back so easily, they could have fought Beelzebub and his guild Noob Killers, granted, with some difficulty due to their numbers.
Harrison and Luke both sprung up from the ground, their arms reached behind their backs and they swiftly brought their s.h.i.+elds in front of their bodies, close to their chest. Harrison gave off a loud roar before charging forwards, his s.h.i.+eld tore through the crowd of weak and defenceless Mages and Archers.
Beelzebub looked back at the sight and his voice boomed with anger. "What are you doing! Attack them! Tanks, get into defensive positions and protect the Archers and Mages!" Archers and Mages were the most heavily DPS based cla.s.s due to their attacks. a.s.sa.s.sins and Swordsmen were certainly not far behind them, but they also specialised in other fields; a.s.sa.s.sins in scouting, tracking, and trap dismantling and for Swordsmen, they were more commonly known for being an overall attacker and defender. Sometimes learning more to one side than the other depending on how they distribute their stat points as well as whether or not they evolve into a specific cla.s.s.
As for Tanks, their name spoke for themselves; they were the main defence of a group and one of the most important aspects when challenging a dungeon. Without the support of Tanks, it's almost impossible to defeat a high difficulty dungeon due to the amount of damage the dungeon boss does.
The Mages and Archers on either side of the attack aimed towards the backs of both Harrison and Luke and fired off their arrows and spells. Harrison and Luke both grinned at each other before leaping behind each other; their s.h.i.+elds held close to their bodies with their backs against one another. The force from the spells almost completely cancelled each other out; they were pushed a foot from one side before getting pushed a foot back.
Granted, even though they didn't feel like they were taking damage they saw their health bar gradual deplete itself due to the onslaught of attacks. Fortunately, they weren't left to die on a suicide mission, Jose wasn't that disorganised in his ambush.
The three of them, Jose, Hayley, and Maddy all fired off spells towards the backs of the Archers and Mages closest to their side. The ground beneath them shook violently, purposing throwing them off balance; some of their attacks went astray due to the sudden shock beneath them. Fireb.a.l.l.s rained on the Swordsmen and Tanks which were coming over to a.s.sist in their survival.
"What are you doing!" Beelzebub shouted at the Mages and Archers angrily; he turned to the a.s.sa.s.sins a little bit in front of their group which were originally used for scouting ahead and shouted loudly. "a.s.sa.s.sins! Get back here and eliminate the attackers!"
The a.s.sa.s.sins slightly into the distance nodded before sprinting back, their legs stomped onto the stumps of trees, pus.h.i.+ng them into the air. Their arms reached out and their hands grabbed firmly onto lower branches; their bodies swung and at the very end of the swing they released their grip and was sent flying into another tree, this time landing on top of the branch.
Their bodies slowly faded away, merging with the darkness before finally disappearing. Jose grinned coldly before taking a couple of steps and hopping down; he focused his sight on where the Archers and Mages were and cast Earthquake once more.
Suddenly, he took a step to the side and swung his staff, it whistled through the air before coming to an abrupt halt. An a.s.sa.s.sin appeared through the thin air, their face smashed against the staff. Unfortunately, due to the nature of staffs, they weren't very powerful physical damaging weapons which allowed for the a.s.sa.s.sin to live.
Their eyes widened through the thin slit in their black clothes, his knife almost feel to the ground due to the sudden pain and shock that jolted through his body. Bringing themselves back into reality they leapt back and stared at Jose fearfully. "What the h.e.l.l did you just do? There shouldn't be any method in detecting an a.s.sa.s.sin using the skill Stealth just yet."
"Oh, an a.s.sa.s.sin that's curious about matters that are so obvious yet so hard to comprehend," Jose said coldly before an arrow appeared on the side of the a.s.sa.s.sin's head. The arrow swiftly pierced through, the momentum tugged the lifeless corpse slightly to the side while Jose gave a thumbs up to Hayley.
The reason behind his confidence in his act just then was due to the new skill he got previous when an a.s.sa.s.sin made an attempt on his life. The skill was named Sixth Sense, it was a skill that could be ranked in the highest tiers of skills. Unfortunately, due to that, it couldn't be levelled up through normal means.
[Sixth Sense Lv 0]
[Description: Sense the killing intent of those that are after your life. Enables to user pa.s.sive detection of any hostiles, whether that be players of mods.]
[Effect: Gives user momentary Unfoolable Vision]
[Cooldown: 5 Seconds]
Jose wasn't certain on how to explain the feeling of when the skill activates; it feels as though his sight is cleared of all illusions, whether that be the thick smog or Stealth skill. It doesn't give Jose perfect vision, but rather, it gives a rough outline of the player or mob attacking him with killing intent.
The only downfall to the skill was that when he went to look at whether or not he could upgrade it further, it didn't show any information. There weren't any requirements, nor the cost of skill points, it was just completely blank without a word insight.
Fortunately, after a quick discussion with Maddy, he managed to find a few things out. The skill he acquired was also named a unique skill; only possible to get through getting the skill through practical means rather than a skill rune or scroll or missions.
As for the method of advancing them further; their t.i.tle informed them of all the information they needed. Unique skills required unique methods of advance them further; however, these unique methods were completely unknown and to this date, only one unique skill has ever advanced before. The player to advance it was the current number one player in the first server; guild leader of the Dragon Emperors guild, his name is Dragon King and the cla.s.s he wields is the Dragon Guardian.
He was one of the few players that managed to get their hands on a high tiered cla.s.s right out the gate. Just about all top ten players were players that managed to get their hands on the Unique Cla.s.s Change Scrolls at the start of the game.
The only one in the top ten players on the first server was a Grand Wizard, the current highest mage cla.s.s one can get to. The players specialise in Ice Spells, people also named him the Ice King due to his unique playstyle. Constantly casting spells to change to the environment to his advantage.
After five seconds Jose saw the faint outline of another a.s.sa.s.sin, the blade in their hand was held in a reverse grip, they swung and twisted their entire body with the intent of slas.h.i.+ng Jose's neck.
Jose grinned and took a step back, narrowly dodging the attack which barely grazed his neck. Jose swiftly kicked his leg upwards, it made an impact with the a.s.sa.s.sin's guts, forcing their Stealth to disappear as their body arched and flew up a metre before thumping on the ground.
An arrow appeared from the side and stuck into the a.s.sa.s.sin's head, swiftly ending their life without a moment of hesitation.
Jose looked back to the field and cast another Earthquake, this time to throw the Archers and Mages on the other side of Harrison and Luke off balance. Similar to before, their attacks went astray, and they ended up friendly firing.
"s.h.i.+t! What the h.e.l.l are you doing!" Beelzebub shouted angrily while hiding behind his Tank. The two didn't move from their spot, rather, their eyes were constantly darting around at the treetops and undergrowth. Beelzebub didn't believe for a second that his life wasn't the main target.
Unfortunately, that's where he was the most incorrect with his decision. Adam jumped down from the treetops, landing right behind a Swordsmen running forward together towards the Archers and Mages for a.s.sistance. Adam's body twisted with his dagger held in a reverse grip.
He swiftly slashed through the back of the swordsmen's neck before leaping into the air and latching onto a nearby tree. The end of a sword fell where he just was, if he was a moment slower, he would have had his body hacked in half.
"What are you doing! Kill the a.s.sa.s.sin!" Beelzebub shouted angrily at the Swordsmen nearby. He felt the most threatened by the a.s.sa.s.sin, especially when he witnessed Adam's skills firsthand. It took a lot of skill and experience to end the lives of so many players without the use of Stealth. Granted, he was already certain that Adam decided not to go with Stealth but rather Backstab.
The Swordsmen beneath Adam tilted their heads upwards and swung their swords. Slashes of light tore through the air; the Swordsmen were all using one of the three different skills that can be chosen. There was Cross Slash, Piercing thrust, and Horizontal Sweep, all of which were AOE attacks.
Adam skilful leapt off the tree and twisted his body through the air, narrowly dodging the attacks. Once he landed on the ground, he dashed an open s.p.a.ce; it was swiftly blocked off by a group of swordsmen. Adam grinned and lowered the upper half of his body even further.
His body weaved and twisted, narrowly dodging the volley of swords which swung down at him. His agility allowed him to narrowly weave through the crowd of Swordsmen; however, Adam wasn't expecting his method of escaping to be so inconvenient for the Swordsmen.
They continued to swing at Adam without hesitation, they didn't think to take into consideration the length of their blades and the distance from them and another ally. They ended up hacking at each other with their blades, digging deep into an ally's shoulder and even head.
"s.h.i.+t! s.h.i.+t! s.h.i.+t" Beelzebub shouted angrily as he stopped on the ground like a child with a tantrum. The players had already completely adapted to playing in a guild where they couldn't bring harm onto allies that they swung their swords without any thought. If friendly fire wasn't a thing, they would have swiftly put an end of Jose and his party. Unfortunately, the game developers weren't that lenient with their player base.
