Though she left a note to Clifford stating that she'll do some personal errand, but knowing Clifford, he would not rest until he knew where she is, so in case her husband asked her bodyguards, she instructed them to keep her location a secret and just reiterated what she wrote on the note.
Her phone suddenly rings while she's contemplating over her excitement. Just as she thought earlier, Clifford would eventually call her.
"Where are you, wife? Why did you leave so early on a Sat.u.r.day morning?" Clifford's voice sounds gruff but still sweet to Ingrid's ears.
"Why is it that your voice still sound s.e.xy in my ears even if you're annoyed, love?" Ingrid tried to coax him so that he won't ask her more questions.
Clifford smiled upon hearing his wife's compliment but then he frowned when he realized that Ingrid is trying to turn away his question.
Prior to his call, he groped for his wife's body which has become his habit every morning. He doesn't know why but he feels pleased if he'd feel her within his reach. Save for today, he's too alarmed when he felt his wife's not around.
He immediately opened up his eyes and rose up, called her and searched her everywhere but to no avail. He went back to the room only to find out a note on the bedside table. He grumbled and without delay called her.
"Don't toy around, wife. Answer my question first, where are you going?" he rubbed his face harshly as his irritation grows when he heard his wife laughs at him and considering how anxious was he.
"Don't worry, love, I'll just do some personal errands, I'll be back this afternoon."
"Afternoon?? Where the heck are you going?? I'll be there…" he snarled but Ingrid wouldn't give in.
"Just you wait, love. Spend quality time with your son, today. Don't worry I brought with me two trusted men of Griffith, I'm safe." Ingrid rea.s.sured her husband.
"But, Ingrid–" he wanted to protest more and demanded that his wife must yield but he gave up because he knew that Ingrid won't give in if she's sure of what she's doing.
He let out a breathy sigh.
"Okay… you leave me no choice. Just promise me to be home safe because I'll be waiting for you… I love you…" Ingrid is moved at her husband's words. It gives her more reason to surprise him later.
"I promise to be home safely, lovey. I love you…"
Upon arriving at the hospital, she entered into a VVIP pa.s.sage straight to her doctor's office. She's immediately attended by the doctor while the nurses a.s.sisted her arm. After removing the cast, a physical therapist then aided her and within two hours she's able to move her arms.
Good thing, that the scars are not that visible on her arm and the doctor a.s.sured her that it'll be gone for sometime if she continually applies the scar cream he prescribed.
After her appointment, she went to Veanco square to pamper herself in the spa and go shopping as well. She thought of impressing her husband when she gets back. Clifford called over and over again to check her and even Clark would join in the call.
After a pampering session in the spa, Ingrid went shopping for some new outfits for her, Clifford and Clark. She went to a well-known brand and was greeted enthusiastically by the salesladies as though she's their only customer.
Ingrid looked around and some shoppers looked at her direction which makes her more baffled.
"Thank you, but you don't have to treat me like a VIP, I'm just looking around." She smiled politely how she hate VIP treatments she couldn't move freely if she's being followed by them.
"You're not just a VIP young madam, but a VVIP..." one of the salesladies answered. "...there's a memo we received from the CEO that we should treat you accordingly every time you shop within the Veanco Square."
"CEO? You mean Clifford Briggs?" Ingrid wanted to make sure who the lady means.
"Yes, the young master, young madam, who is your husband." The saleslady confirmed.
Ingrid furrowed her brows and then she took her phone to send a message to Clifford.
"That man, really..." she mumbled as she's typing a message to her husband.
Ingrid did not expect her husband to reply immediately so she put her phone back to her bag. She returned her attention back to the salesladies with a smile as they were waiting for her order to around just like most of the VVIPs of their store.
"Hmmm, I hate to say this but I cancelled my VVIP treatment today, miss. Just treat me like the regular clients. And look, there are lots of shoppers that need your a.s.sistance..." she pointed at the incoming shoppers.
