"It's not for me to decide, son..." the child went silent and grasping in his mind what his mom meant. Ingrid sat down with her child and asked, "...Do you really want to have a father?"
....
The dinner date is at seven o'clock in the evening. By six thirty, Ingrid is already prepared and her red halter bodycon dress showed her flawless and s.e.xy shoulders and it fit perfectly on her. Her hair was styled to just a simple ponytail that gave her a mysterious look. Her son admired her and planted a kiss on her cheeks and her parents praise her, too.
The car was ready to bring her to the place Lance prepared for tonight. Ingrid was surprise when she arrived at Guinevere Hotel.
"Driver Joe, are you sure this is the place?" her palms started to sweat profusely.
"Yes, Ma'am. Sir Lance specifically instructed me to bring you here. And the moment you arrive, there will be some staffs to escort you to the exact place he prepared for your dinner."
"Oh... okay, I get it. Thank you." She wished that she will not see Clifford around.
"I will just be here ma'am, if there's anything you need just give me a call." She nodded and waited for him to open the door for her.
Driver Joe could not understand why he said that to his boss when he knew that it is his job to attend to his boss' needs in her travels. When the driver opened the door for her, automatically two attending staffs went over to her and escorted her to the roof top of the hotel.
...
Clifford was still in his office still reading the doc.u.ments in front of him. He looked at his Tudor watch and saw that it was already six forty-five. His eyes are tired and his stomach grumbles because of hunger. He grabbed his coat and decided to eat at the restaurant to find some new atmosphere.
At the restaurant, the staff hurriedly took his order. He was facing the entrance to observe the people who go in and out the hotel. While waiting for his order to arrive, his attention was caught. He started his scrutiny from the soles of the woman's feet, to her well-shaped legs, her curvaceous hips, and her long and slender neck up to her alluring and mysterious face.
He did not notice that his order arrived. His gaze still plastered on the woman who was walking s.e.xily towards the elevator. He was wondering what she is doing in the hotel.
'Does she have a meeting here? But her outfit shouts like she is having a date.' He observed. His eyes narrowed and called the staff.
"Call Gary and ask him if there's a reservation for Ingrid Howard and who is her date."
"Okay, just a minute, sir," Clifford's hunger was placed with agitation.
His long fingers keep on fidgeting on his thigh, and as minute ticks his impatience grew.
"Gary, hurry! The boss is becoming impatient." The staff is starting to tremble.
"Alright, alright! Almost there." Gary came into view and stopped in front of Clifford.
"Sir, a certain Lance McNaught reserved the rooftop with a candle lit dinner with Miss Howard tonight. The preparation went smoothly and everything our client designed and desired was accomplished. I believe that they will have a lovely night together. Rest a.s.sured that our hotel is incomparable and our compet.i.tors could not surpa.s.s our superb services." Gary smiled confidently.
But his smile slowly fades when he saw that his boss' expression grew darker until his last words. His forehead started to sweat and he quietly took his hanky and wiped the sweat on his forehead.
'What did I say or do that makes him angry? Gos.h.!.+ I still could not fathom this man!' Gary murmured in his mind.
"The whole rooftop?!" his voice almost thundered.
"ahh, y-yeah, bo-boss." He almost choked.
"Starting tomorrow, no one is allowed to use the rooftop!" he ordered, he stood and hurriedly tread heavily away from his table and his appet.i.te evaporated.
