Hidden Hallows 129 Blame

When I turn back around, I see a familiar face. Xander comes to a stop with two of his pack mates and asks "Are you okay, Eris?" I nod and say "I'm fine." I go to walk off but Xander quickly asks "What's happening?"

I lift my arms and say "Can't you see? The Dark Prince from h.e.l.l is here and setting up shop." Xander looks around in worry as he asks "How the h.e.l.l did that happen? And who the h.e.l.l is he?" I feel the air behind me s.h.i.+ft, seconds before I hear Enzo say "I thought I heard someone talking about me. Eris, my dear, who are your furry friends?"

I quickly step to the side so that my back is no longer to Enzo as I say "Make it stop Enzo! These are innocent people!" Enzo chuckles and says "Innocent? Look around Eris, none of them are innocent! They have all lied, cheated, stolen, or even killed. The list goes on and on. My demons only bring those traits up to the surface. It only feeds what's already there."

I grit my teeth but before I can say anything else, Xander steps forward and says "I think it's time you left." Enzo turns to look at Xander and narrows his eyes on him as he says "Ah yes, I thought you looked familiar. You're the furball that can't make up his mind. A coward."

Xander growls and says "Say that to my face!" I step in front of Xander so that I can face Enzo head-on as I say "This is between us. There's darkness in everyone Enzo and you know that but you also know that not everyone acts on it or lets it grow. Make all of this stop... please."

Enzo's dark eyes take me in for a few silent moments before he says "I'm afraid, I can't do that. I've waited for this moment for a thousand lifetimes. Humans are weak! They're a disease that needs to be swept away! Can't you see that!? Can't you see what this world could be without the weak?"

He scoffs and says "Human's parade around like they're all that! Like they're saints and yet they're weak and evil creatures that give in at the first sign of temptation! At least I don't pretend to be something I'm not!"

I close my eyes and take a deep breath before saying "It's not our place to decide what they should and shouldn't do. You can't kill someone just because they have the potential to do evil or the potential to give in to temptations. This was their world before we came here and they have every right to be here."

He looks at me with a blank stare before saying "So you want to save them... do you think you can?" His question throws me a little as I hesitate. When he sees the hesitation, he begins to smile as he says "Even if you wish to save them, Eris Hallows, you can't. Even if you tried, they with curse you, spit at you, and even blame you. It was your blood that released me, remember?"

The others behind me quickly look to me in confusion before Enzo laughs and says "Yes! All of this is because of her! Thanks to Eris Hallows, a new world will be made!" As Enzo steps back, he disappears, leaving me standing in the street with several supernaturals and humans.

Harris stands in confusion, breathing heavily and covered in blood as Xander asks "Eris, is what he said true?" I grit my teeth in anger when I see the mess the evil b.a.s.t.a.r.d left me to deal with. "Eris?" Harris asks with uncertainty making me angrier.

I turn to them, watching as others move closer to hear. I huff out in irritation as I ask "What is it you want to hear?" Xander frowns and becomes stern as he says "The truth!" I laugh at that and say "Oh that's rich coming from you!"

Another s.h.i.+fter walking up says "Stop avoiding the question. Is what the demon said true?" I grit my teeth and look to all the people surrounding me with a bittersweet feeling growing deep inside. I lick my lip and nod my head as I say "Yes, it's true. No matter how I say it, at the end of the day, the demon was released because of me. Is that what all of you wanted to hear!?"

A s.h.i.+fter growls and steps forward but Xander puts his arm out and stops him as he says "Is what you're saying true?" I look him in the eyes and say "Yes" I see a deep emotion flicker in his amber colored eyes as someone in the crowd yells "Kill her! It's her fault my father killed my mother!"

Several others start saying similar things as someone yells "She's a demon wh.o.r.e!" Someone throws something but it falls short. When it rolls to a stop in front of me, I see it's a large rock. When I look back up to the crowd in front of me, several different emotions run through me as I see the different levels of hate, anger, and disgust in their eyes.

Something else is thrown but it was thrown just right. As it flies straight at my face, a large hand suddenly appears and catches it. When I turn and look, I see Kian glaring at the crowd. He tightens his hand, crus.h.i.+ng the rock like it's nothing before saying "I suggest you all leave while you still can."

They start backing up while a few say "See! A demon wh.o.r.e!!" Xander glares at me and Kian before saying "This is the last time I will let you go for old times sake. The next time will be a fight to the death." He steps back and walks away with his pack members but as he leaves, I see something else.

Witches... they stand, shoulder to shoulder, watching me with hate-filled eyes. I stand my ground and stare at them with anger but when the head witch steps forward, she pulls her hood back and says "Eris Hallows. From this day forward, you are an outcast and no longer welcomed in our city. LEAVE!"

Powerful magic races towards me but I lift my hand and quickly block it as I mumble "I've always been an outcast..."
