Hidden Hallows 128 The Start Of Chaos

A few hours later, I find myself sitting at my kitchen table. Wrapped in a blanket with a large cup of coffee. Kian places a plate full of food in front of me but I really have no appet.i.te. When we all hear the TV in the living room turn on, we walk over to see the news playing. I guess the house wants us to see something.

Binx jumps up on the couch as Kian and I stay standing. Binx turns the volume up as the news reports "Several reports have been made about zombie-like creatures appearing downtown while others report random attacks from citizens."

"Police are doing everything they can at the moment but because of the sheer volume of reports, they encourage families to stay inside. Lock your doors and stay put until authorities can get the situation under control again. Until then, if you or someone you know is in trouble, please call the emergency hotline at..."

Binx hits the 'mute' on the TV as we all continue staring at the TV in disbelief. "He didn't waste any time..." I say watching the city get turned upside down. Kian rubs the back of his neck as he says "Of course not... he never does."

I pull the blanket off and toss it on the couch as I say "We need to go help the humans that are getting caught in all this." Kian looks over to me in worry and asks "Are you okay?" I shrug and say "I was shaken up earlier by how much I wanted Tristan to die... I liked what Enzo was doing to him and I hated it. I hated that Enzo could see just how dark my heart can be and in a way... I got to see what I could become. It terrified me but I shouldn't let it... everyone has darkness in them. Everyone has a choice and this.... this is me now making a choice."

I grab my blades as I say "I'm not perfect... I'm a real b.i.t.c.h sometimes but... I don't want to see innocent people or supernaturals being hurt. Not if I can do something to stop it." Kian gives me a knowing smile as his entire outfit changes before me.

He cracks his neck and says "Then let's go create some chaos of our own." I smile at him and nod as I say "Binx, you know the drill. Keep our home safe." Binx gives me a bored look and waves a paw at me before saying "Yeah yeah, I know. Go do your thing."

Driving into town was almost a mission in itself but when we finally make it, I park the car and get out to see an old bank going up in flames as people run from it screaming. Some people looked like they were even carrying money!

Confusion eats away at me as I see actual people attacking others. Not demons... people. Kian steps up beside me and says "Possessions... They're being possessed and influenced by all the evil, fear, and chaos. That also means our little cloaked demon will be feeding more..."

I look around the chaos and say "s.h.i.+t... he'll get even stronger." Kian nods his head and asks "Should we split up?" I nod as I pull my blades out and say "I feel like we'll cover more ground that way."

Kian nods and says "Call me if something happens." I give him a knowing smirk as I say "That goes for you too!" We both take off in different directions as the bank before us becomes engulfed in flames.

When I come around the corner, I nearly run straight into Harris! I quickly sidestep to avoid cras.h.i.+ng into him as I say "Harris! Where are your men?" When Harris turns back to me, his eyes are all wrong. They're solid black!

"Oh come on, Harris! Fight it!" I say taking a small step back. He snarls at me and says "This is all your fault! It always is!! It because of you d.a.m.n supernaturals!!" I quickly toss my blade over to my other hand and punch him straight in the face with a little magic!

He falls back as a black mist comes flying out of him, hissing in anger. I lift my hand and say "Orcus!" It quickly jerks out of the way before quickly slithering away. I look down to find Harris rubbing his head.

He looks up at me and struggles to speak. I stretch out my hand towards him and help him up as I say "Find your men, protect those who are innocent." He gives me a determined look as he nods his head and says "Thank you."

He takes off running as a zombie looking thing starts crawling towards me. Huh... this one is crawling and a little faster. As it crawls up to me like a large c.o.c.kroach, I toss my blade back over to my hand and spin it before shoving it down into its head!

I pin the thing to the ground with my blade in the head and say "Orcus!" The thing goes up in blue flames and starts screeching as I rip my blade back out and step back. As it turns into a pile of mushy... zombie, I look up to see some even crawling up the side of a building!

Holy... Suddenly, I see why. Someone is currently standing at an open window, videotaping everything with their phone, completely unaware of this thing quickly making it's way up to him! s.h.i.+t! I take off running as fast as I can, jumping over a few trashcans until I have a better angle.

I pull my blade back and throw it with a little magic! It flies through the air and hits the zombie-like creature in the back of the head, right as it grabs the guy in the window! The guy drops his phone and screams b.l.o.o.d.y murder as the zombie-like thing tries to pull him to its mouth but because of my blade, its head was currently pinned against the window panel.

The guy tries to pull away but the strength of the zombie thing was making it impossible. I yell out "Orcus!" And watch as it goes up in flames. Because the flames belong to me, I have no problem keeping them from burning the guy as well.

When the zombie thing finally dies, the guy falls back and disappears from my line of sight. I lift my hand and summon my blade back to me as another zombie crawls to me. I lift my hand and set that one on fire as the doors to the building flies open.

I turn around to see the guy from the window. His face is pale white but he's drenched in sweat as his breathing borderlines hyperventilation. When I look down, I see the zombie thing's arm still hanging onto the front of his s.h.i.+rt for dear life but the guy doesn't seem to notice as he quickly says "T.. tttth.. thank you!!" and takes off running.

Should I have told him? Nah... it should be fine... right?
