Hidden Hallows 95 Concern

It only takes me a few seconds before relaxing into his kiss. Everything about it feels... right. I reach up and wrap my fingers around his wrists as he deepens the kiss but he ends it entirely too soon. He breaks the kiss and leans his forehead against mine, catching his breath as I try not to demand more.

His eyes remain shut as he whispers "I couldn't find you... no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't feel you. I thought... I really thought I lost you... again." His voice slightly breaks at the end causing my heart to do the same.

I lean up on my tippy toes and lightly kiss him as I say "No matter where I go, I'll always come back to you. I promise." His dark red eyes open and lock onto mine as he says "If you don't come back to me, I will go to you."

His words sound like a vow, and I know with all my heart it's one he'll keep. How did the two of us end up as soul mates? How? I find myself not caring anymore. I found him and I plan on keeping him.

I go to kiss him again but when I hear someone clear their throat, I can't help but be annoyed. When the two of us turn to look, we both find Ambrose standing at the mouth of the ally with a dark pair of sungla.s.ses on. "I'm sorry to interrupt this cute little... moment but I have a... slight problem and I'm in need of your a.s.sistance."

I give him a dry look as Kian steps back and glares at Ambrose. Ambrose gives Kian a smirk as I ask "What the h.e.l.l is it, Ambrose? Can you not see that I had a long night?" He lowers his head and pulls his sungla.s.ses down a little to look at me and says "Oh, last night was just the beginning of your problems."

A sleek, black car pulls up behind Ambrose as he pushes his sungla.s.ses back up and says "You two should probably come with me." He turns around and gets into the car without another word. Kian and I look at each other with confusion before I say "Let me see what he wants."

Kian doesn't look happy about it but he nods and says "I'll follow from behind. I may kill the Vampire if I get stuck in the same car with him." I smirk at that and watch as he disappears from in front of me.

I walk over to the car and get in, shutting the door behind me as the car quickly takes off. I look over to Ambrose in question and see that he's finally taking off his gla.s.ses. He looks over to me and says "Riots and mobs are taking over the City as we speak and your house is crawling with demons. They're waiting for you to return, Eris. Please tell me you have a second home or a safe house."

I frown at him in confusion and say "Wait... the Riots and mobs are new but what's this about having a safe house?" He looks at me in disappointment as he says "Your house is covered in demons! They are literally crawling all over it, looking for a way to get in. If you show up now, they will kill you! There's too many for even me and the demon following us."

Lovely... I bite my lip and wonder what the h.e.l.l Enzo is trying to do. Why is he hurting so many innocent people!? But then I think back to the things Kian told me about him and suddenly I have a headache coming on.

I look back over to Ambrose and say "Bring me to the house. Things are only going to escalate if I ignore them any more than I already have." Ambrose scoffs at me and says "Are you insane! They. Will. KILL YOU!!"

His eyes flash with anger and his fangs elongate as his anger flares and I can't help but feel a little touched. He wouldn't be getting so upset if he didn't care... I give him a small smile as I say "I've always been insane, Ambrose. It's about time I show that."

Ambrose throws his hands up in defeat and curses in a language I don't know before saying "Take the suicidal woman home." The car takes the interstate ramp and ten minutes later, we pull up to the house to see that it's completely clear.

Not a demon in sight. They must have scouts and saw me coming... either that or they plan to come back tonight and pay me a surprise visit. I step out of the car and turn around so I can look at Ambrose and say "Thanks for looking out for me. It's good to know someone like you cares about a little halfbreed like me."

He scoffs at me and looks forward saying "Let's go." As soon as the car starts to move, I pull my head back and shut the door. When I turn back to the house, I see Kian standing in the driveway staring at the house.

As I walk up to him, and while looking at the house, I ask "Did they leave a note or a present for me?" Kian shakes his head and says "No, they left a note for me." Surprised, I turn to look at him in surprise and ask "A note for you? What are they saying?"

He bares his teeth and for the first time, I see how sharp his canines can get as he says "They want me to drag you back to h.e.l.l. I've been offered the highest position next to the prince for you." I blink at him before looking back at the house and saying "Huh... not a bad deal, right?"

He clenches his jaw muscles in anger and continues to stare at the house. I look back at the house but I still don't see anything. I look back to Kian and say "There's more... isn't there?" Kian finally looks away before saying "Don't worry about it. Let's go in."
