He could still remember the images in his mind when he witnessed how hunters killed werewolves mercilessly. Those human beings considered them as beasts and monsters who deserved to die.
Travis understood where Alpha Jason's hatred towards humans and hunters was coming from. If not for his father's teaching, even he might bore a grudge against humanity and would try to avenge their kind by killing humans.
But now, he knew very well that killing one another was not the solution. White Claw Pack believed in this ideal and as the future leader, he must protect this ideal.
"I must see Dylan now and talk to him," Travis mumbled as he pulled his mind back from that deep thought.
Before he could leave his room, he heard a knock outside his door. When he opened it, he saw the person whom he was just thinking a while ago standing there while looking at him expressionless.
A light flashed through his eyes the moment he saw Dylan. He could not help himself from hugging him. Dylan just stood there silently.
"I am glad to see you, Dylan. I have searched for you. t.i.tania and I always believe that you are alive." he said with a hint of happiness and longing in his voice.
"Let's go inside first," Dylan said as he gently pushed Travis away from him.
Travis frowned when he sensed the cold treatment that Dylan was giving him right now. In the end, the two of them entered his room.
"Why did you come here? You already knew from the start that you will not gain something from talking with Jason and the Blood Moon Pack. This pack is different from your pack." Dylan's said with his stern cold voice.
"You knew me, Dylan, we will not back down without doing anything. We have to try, we have nothing to lose anyway. Besides, meeting you is the most important reason why I came here."
Travis was observing Dylan but he could not read what on his mind right now. He was staring at him with no emotion at all.
"It looks like you are not happy to see me here. I missed you, my friend. We have not seen each other for a long time. Why are you treating me like this?" Travis smiled at him bitterly. He was hurt to see Dylan acting like this.
"Because I am not the same Dylan you knew before. I'd changed now, can't you see that? I did not want to see you here." he said to him straightforwardly.
"Well, I don't believe you. I know you still care about me. I am your best friend after all. You don't want to admit but you also missed me. See... you are the one who came here first." Travis smiled at him as he tried to tease Dylan.
But Dylan remained silent while looking at him with his poker face.
'Haizt, he was really acting cold right now. Hmmph... I will not buy your acting skills, Dylan. I know your weakness. You still denying that you still care about us. Then let me test you.'
"t.i.tania," Travis said which made Dylan's expression changed the moment he heard that name. But in just a split of seconds, it returned to normal.
Travis smiled inwardly as he noticed Dylan's expression. It seemed like he was interested to hear a news about t.i.tania.
'I knew it. You can't hide your true feelings once t.i.tania is involved.'
Dylan knew what Travis was trying to do here. So he tried his best not to show any emotions even if he tried to bring up t.i.tania.
"Don't you want to ask me about t.i.tania? Ask me anything about her Dylan, then I am willing to answer all your questions." Travis continued to test Dylan.
"Why should I do that? I am not interested in her. I have nothing to do with anyone in your pack anymore," he said to him coldly.
Travis let out a soft chuckle. He sensed that Dylan was lying to him. He could not look at him straight in the eyes after saying that. He patted Dylan's shoulder but he shrugged his hand off his shoulder.
"Do you know how much she missed you? She is eager to know any information about you but sad to say you don't even care about her anymore. Can you tell her that yourself? Because I don't want to hurt the feelings of my baby sister."
Dylan clenched his fists. He was aware that deep inside he still cares about t.i.tania. He wanted to see t.i.tania. He missed her also. However, he could not tell her that.
"She left the pack. Did you know that she was suffering and struggling every day? She tried her best to become stronger. Do you know the reason why she is not giving up despite all the hards.h.i.+ps? It is you, Dylan."
"I did not ask her to do that!!!" Dylan could not help himself but mumble. He did not know but he was mad right now.
Travis was rejoicing inside. Now he could see that t.i.tania could still affect Dylan's emotions.
'Sorry Baby Sister if I am using you right now. This man in front of me is so stubborn. I have no choice but to use this strategy.'
"But you knew her Dylan. She will do anything that she wanted. Among the three of us, she is the most stubborn one. Even though you are also acting so stubborn now but still you could not win against my sister's stubbornness." Travis burst into a laugh from that thought.
"Come back with us Dylan. You don't belong here. There are people who need you there. t.i.tania and I are one of them." Travis started to convince Dylan.
Dylan gave him a smug smile as he answered him with a stern cold voice.
"It's useless Travis. I am not coming back as long as there are still hunters living in this world. They want to exterminate our kind then I should do the same to them."
"If you really treat me as your friend, respect my decision. This is what I want and this is what I need to do."
Dylan did not wait for Travis to respond. He turned around and left. His decision was final. He decided a long time ago that he would not go back as long as there were still hunters living in this world.
He would fight back until his last breath. This was the only way he could think of to protect their kind, to protect those important to him.
