Isabel - The Lightning Princess 19 Half Baked Princess

The children all gather round and talk, then Caspian shouted and started pacing while talking to himself.

"Oh no, this cannot be..." He turned to face them, "How could you guys let this happen?".

"Didn't you hear what we said earlier? Even the princess didn't know about her powers, heritage, crown and Gandera".

"And you say it like it's a good thing? Come on, why wouldn't she?".

"The moment she uses her powers, Claudius would be able to sense it, our parents couldn't take that risk. If he had sent his full army to us, how then do you think they would be able to resist them? Then the queen's sacrifice would all be for nought" Jasper explained.

"It still isn't better having a half baked princess, what then is she doing here in Gandera?" He shouted back at Jasper.

Before he knew what was happening, he got a punch to his face that sent him flying several meters away.

"Jasper" the others rushed to Caspian's side while Isabel and Catherine just held on to Jasper, pulling him back and preventing him for attacking Caspian again. The others helped Caspian up as blood starts running from his nose.

"Get a clean cloth to stop the bleeding" Jewel said to one of the guys with them.

"Yes Jewel" the boy said and dashed to the house.

"What is wrong with you?" Melia shouted at Jasper.

"What is wrong with me? Ask him that instead".

"You were the one who punched him" Melia retorted back.

"I should have done more than that if you ask me".

"Jasper stop it".

"No Catherine, the next time he or anyone else opens their mouth to utter one word of insult to her, I would do more than just punch that person in his or her face. Thank your stars they are here, I would have beaten you to a pulp" he said in anger.

"Jasper, that's enough already" Isabel said releasing her grip on his hand.

The boy who left, hurried back with a clean cloth and a bowl of water. Caspian washes his face and use the clean cloth on his wound.

Melia looks at Caspian again and the rage was clearly written on her face.

"Let it go Melia".

"But Jewel, he injured... " she was cut short by a wave of Jewel's hand.

"I won't have it. He was rude to the princess. I apologize on his behalf princess".

"It's all right Jewel".

"Thank you your highness".

"It wasn't Isabel's fault, it was too risky and our parents, the guardians thought it best to let her be. Don't get me wrong, she was trained in the arts of fighting but not with her powers. We were the only one who trained with our powers and it killed us to keep it away from her" Catherine explained to them as she let go of Jasper.

"It doesn't change anything, she is not ready. Her people have waited eighteen years, suffering at the hands of Claudius waiting for the lightning child to come and fulfill the prophecy. How can you save them now if you are only like this? You rely on rage to let out your power. You have no control over it and above that, you do not seem to know how to use your other power".

"What! she has other powers?" One of the boys asked.

"Alfred, she is the princess, meaning she has the power of both parents, the king and queen" Jewel explained to the stunned boy.

"My guess is, you haven't learn that as well. You can't use magic, it is a pity, the queen was the strongest mage there was".

"At least for someone who only learnt about her powers hours ago, I think she is doing quite well" Catherine said in anger.

Isabel clenched her fist, it was true though what they said, but it wasn't like she had control over what happened to her. She has been kept in the dark all these years, but still she felt bitter at what they said. Half baked princess, no one would love to be called that.

"Half baked princess huh... At least this half baked princess could deal you all a heavy blow even after you had mastered your powers. Compared to me, I think they suck... Half baked is a compliment" she thought to herself.

"One question though, why come now even after she has not mastered her powers?" Jewel asked them.

Isabel sighed, ready to answer but was prevented by Catherine.

"She was attacked" Catherine said sparing the details.

"What kind of attack would make her come here? It's not like Gandera is safe" Alfred asked.

"She was drugged and was about to be raped, then subconsciously she unleashed her powers, that alone alerted Claudius and he sent his men to our realm to get her".

"Wait, you mean to say that, the lightning that followed that thunder hours ago, was caused by the princess?" Caspian asked.

"Yes, so she was sent back to Gandera as there was no longer safe. It was time to fulfill her destiny. She has to go through the tests, well all of us too, we must go to the mountain of despair so we can awaken our powers as guardians of Gandera" Catherine explained again.

"Where are your parents, the other guardians?" Jasper suddenly asked after keeping quiet all this time.
