After transferring both of them on a bed, they went to tidy up a bit.
"d.a.m.n it" Jamie said while losing his cool.
"What is it Jamie?".
"I haven't been apart from them for this long".
"... " Gregory just stared at him.
"What? Say it Greg".
"Nothing, it's just".
"Just what?".
"Hey get off my neck Jay. I'm speaking, stop acting like an animal in heat".
"What did you just say?".
"I said, stop acting like an animal in heat".
As soon as he finished his statement, Jamie punched him in the face.
"What the h.e.l.l" Gregory quickly punched him back.
"That hurt".
"Oh, glad you think so".
Jamie launched forward but disappeared all of a sudden and appeared at Gregory's back and hit him on his back, then teleported again to a safe distance from him.
"Powers now huh, I'm gonna get you for this".
"You can't fight what you can't see Greg".
"Is that so? We would see about that then".
The next second Jamie teleported again.
"I'll show you Jay" he whispered to himself.
"An opening, perfect. This is going to be too easy" Jamie thought to himself as he prepared to teleport again.
Carefully Gregory waited for Jamie to appear again and just as Jamie was to punch him from his side as he reappeared, Gregory's body was on fire.
Jamie wasn't prepared for this and burnt his hand as the fire danced on his arm.
"Cut it off Greg".
"I should cut off your arm Jamie?".
"No d.a.m.n it. Stop the fire".
With a snap of his fingers, the flames disappeared from his body and Jamie's arm.
"You... " he said through gritted teeth.
"You started it, now calm down".
"You said I was behaving like an animal in heat".
"You were restless d.a.m.n it. What would Ariadna say if she saw you like this? Huh.. Have you thought of it? They've only been gone for some hours and you make it seem like they've been gone for eternity".
Jamie didn't say anything as he moved to the kitchen to pour water on his hand.
"You've been away from them longer than this before, even at Gandera. Why is this any different?".
"It's not the same Gregory" he yelled at him.
"Don't you get? Yes I was away from them back then at Gandera after Cathy was born, but all was well. I knew they were safe. When we came here, it was different".
"How so?".
"The threat wasn't there Greg. Yes we knew we were hiding from him and he could find us, but that was in the condition that Isabel don't use her powers" he yelled again.
"You're yelling Jamie. Think of Maiden and Elizabeth".
"I know OK. But now, I sent them back into enemy territory and I am not with them. Back to Claudius we took them away from. They are not ready".
"You're talking about Isabel too".
"I feel we failed Gregory. We failed the king and queen".
"How did we?".
"We didn't train Isabel. She's not ready Greg. The king and queen couldn't defeat him, how then can she?".
"What about the prophecy Queen Isabella saw? The princess fought along side the guardians, our kids Jamie... our kids".
"Don't you get it, with her powers Greg. I feel like we are sending her to her early grave".
"We are not".
"She knows nothing about magic, her powers, nothing. She is skilled in hand to hand combat. The queen wouldn't have wanted this".
"Queen Isabella wanted us to keep Isabel safe and at all cost. What use would it be not giving the girl a good life but run everyday like fugitives. Is that how you want her to learn?".
"At least she would know how to survive".
"This is not just about survival, the fate of her kingdom rest on her shoulders. Only she the lightning child can defeat Claudius".
"With her POWERS... " he yelled at the top of his voice.
"And she has them" a voice said from behind them and they both turn.
"Elizabeth, what are you doing out of bed? You need to rest" Gregory said as he walked towards her.
"She would go to the mountain and pa.s.s the test. Then she would unlock her powers and be a true guardian of Gandera and save her kingdom like the prophecy foretold" she said ignoring Gregory.
"Have a little more faith in her. She would train, they all would. She has the guardians there with her. She can do it, I know Isabel more than anyone. She will fulfill the prophecy Jamie. Have faith just as Queen Isabella did".
Everyone kept quiet and the other two stared at Jamie with a calm expression, waiting for his reply.
