Dianna was a strong, tough, and mature person. She could hide her emotions very well. Alyssa knew her friend very well. She knew Dianna was faking it for her friends. She didn't want her friends to feel upset about her.
Alyssa was worried about her. She wanted Dianna to speak out her troubles. She didn't want her to deal with these emotional stuffs by herself.
Alyssa had experienced way more emotional trauma than any of her friends can. She even had to lose a person that loves her, for forever. She knew that the more you open up with your friends related to emotional pains the better you will get.
"You know I will always be there for you," Alyssa said. Dianna understood her meaning and replied, "I will get better with time. I promise."
"I know. You are very brave Dee" Alyssa spoke.
Dianna got from up from the ground along with everyone else. When she turned around, she saw Jacob leaning against the school building staring at them. Dianna's heart missed a beat. She knew about Jacob's anger issues.
Jacob was an alpha werewolf so of course, he had a temper. But he got an additional section of temper that were not common in werewolves. All these years Dianna had covered this issue before her friends very well. But she had seen his temper and violent nature first hand.
She loved him very much and she really believed that someday her love will change him for a better person.
There were many times that she got hurt by Jacob.
For instance, on their first date, Dianna was late for thirty minutes. At that time, it was raining heavily and she was stuck in a traffic jam. She entered the restaurant all wet. Her hair sticking to her face and her dress was slightly damp. There was also mud stains on her shoes. As soon as she reached towards her table. She saw Jacob sitting there frowning. She apologetically smiled and proceeded to sit on the chair. Jacob kicked the chair from below the table startling her.
She remained in half-bent position, looking towards Jacob dumbfounded. Jacob got irritated by her. He didn't want to ruin his reputation in that fancy restaurant. He didn't want anyone to see him with disheveled Dianna. So, he quickly got up and left the restaurant before Dianna could understand something. After composing herself she ran towards the exit but he was long gone.
Later, the next day he apologized to Dianna for his behavior stating that he got an urgent call from her father and was in a bad mood. It was his first time and he looked guilty, so Dianna forgave him thinking that, that was the end of his bad behavior.
But that was the start of her terror.
When angry, he would smash anything, be it wooden cups, porcelain dishes, lamps, anything towards Dianna. He would occasionally hit her whenever they got into an argument. Jacob's father used to physically abuse him. He was dominant and had a very poor relations.h.i.+p with his wife and children. He would get drunk and beats anyone with anything. Later to avoid getting beaten up, Jacob's mother started drinking too and would push Jacob forward when his father wanted to beat someone up. Jacob was tortured since he was a child making him a bit criminal minded and controlling just like his father. When Dianna and Jacob got into a relations.h.i.+p, gradually Dianna got to know about his family and how mentally unstable Jacob can be.
So when Jacob gets a beating or any kind of torture, he used to come to pick Dianna up from her house and would take her to the woods, and there he used to beat her. He was becoming a monster day by day.
But she never told anyone about this. She was a stupid girl tangled in stupid love. She always used to think that for their relations.h.i.+p she had to become stronger. She can get used to all his violence if that can make their relations.h.i.+p stronger. She can sacrifice anything for him. She believed that one day her love will change him. Someday he will be remorseful of his behaviors and he will become a good man. She always stupidly gives excuses to his behaviors. Like,
"he gets beaten in his house and he is frustrated, as his girlfriend, it is my job to share his burden and its alright for him to hit me."
She was so naïve. A leopard never changes his spots.
Dianna after seeing Jacob leaning against the wall wanted to flee far away. All these years she was very familiar with his expressions. It was clearly showing in his face that he was angry but suppressing it.
She looked in his eyes, they were fixated towards them but not on her. She turned her head to see exactly what he was staring at. She realized he was staring at Alyssa.
Dianna turned pale. She can guess what was running in his mind. Seeing Dianna rooted to a spot and looking so pale, Alyssa grabbed her hand and glanced towards Jacob in disdain.
"You will be alright. I promise" Alyssa comforted Dianna. She thought she looked that way because of facing Jacob just after knowing that he had betrayed her.
But she was shocked when she heard Dianna saying, "But... I am worried about you."
"Why will you be worried about me?" Alyssa questioned.
"You don't know Jacob very well. He can hurt somebody without batting an eyelid. He can be a monster if he wants to. He will surely hurt you for telling me this." Dianna spoke.
This was the first time for her to tell about Jacob's dark side to her friends. It was also the first time of Alyssa knowing about Jacob's true personality. He had portrayed to be a gentleman very well. Now, Alyssa can see through his mask. His mask had fallen in front of her friends. Alyssa was worried for herself as well as for Dianna. There were a thousand questions running in her mind but it was not proper time to ask them. She also wanted to scold Dianna for accepting his violence at will and also want to ask so many questions about their relations.h.i.+p. But now was not the time, not now when the wounds are green and painful.
Alyssa sighed and grabbed Dianna's hand and walked inside the school building to continue their cla.s.ses.
