Alyssa examined her palm which was now red and swollen. Blisters were forming on her palms. She examined the locker's handle to find that it is coated with molten silver. Silver is fatal to werewolves. Even when coming near any silver material can cause rashes to appear on the skin, forget about touching it.
Alyssa knew that it was a masterpiece of Violet. She never leaves any chance to hurt her. Holding her hand, Alyssa went to the washroom nearby to wash her hand. As soon as her wound came in contact with water Alyssa felt a burning sensation on her palm. She screamed in pain.
She put the fingers of the other hand in the water and felt the same burning sensation. She realized that it was not the water that was flowing from the tap, it was acid.
Blisters appeared on both of her palms.
She covered her palms with her handkerchief so that it couldn't get further infected and goes to the infirmary of her school. She silently opened the door and peeped inside to see no one present. She walked inside and found no attendant present. She was not sure that the attendants were not present at their own will or were instructed by Violet.
She knew if she uses medicines without the permission of the attendants or doctors, it can be used against her. She decided to leave the room without applying any medicine. Just as she turned around, she saw one of the nasty attendant Mrs. Silver coming through the door.
Mrs. Silver spotted her as soon as she entered the room and squinted her eyes. Her eyes landed on Alyssa's covered hands. She pointed her fingers towards her and shouted, "You trash, now you have stooped so low to even steal from the school's infirmary. You sl**, I will give you a proper lesson today."
Saying these she harshly grabbed her arms and dragged her to the Princ.i.p.al's office. The princ.i.p.al was a gentleman for others except for Alyssa. He considered Alyssa as a problematic, poor student that should be rusticated from the school. He blamed Alyssa for the decline of their school's reputation.
Alyssa's videos of being bullied were in social media. Press, reporters also show these videos in their local channels, which declined the reputation of their school. Now, no parents wanted their children to get admitted to the school fearing that they will get bullied.
But the princ.i.p.al, instead of stopping the bullies to harm Alyssa, he sided with them and blamed Alyssa for the decline of their school's reputation.
The door of the Princ.i.p.al's office opened harshly by Mrs. Silver. She pushed Alyssa inside fearing that she will run away and escape the punishment, then she entered the office, closing the door in the process.
The princ.i.p.al, Mr. Linton raised his eyes to see a fuming attendant and Alyssa standing in front of him. As soon as he saw Alyssa, he got upset. "Here comes the bad omen." Mr. Linton murmured under his breath, but it was loud enough for the two to hear it clearly. Mrs. Silver looked towards Alyssa in a gloating manner.
Mr. Linton looked towards the attendant and questioned, "What is the matter? Don't you know how to knock before entering?"
Mrs. Silver made a wronged face and said, "I wanted to but this sc.u.m would have run away. I was so focused on her that I forgot to knock the door. I am sorry sir; this will not happen again."
After saying this she looked towards Alyssa. If looks could kill Alyssa would be dead instantly. She even dumped her fault over Alyssa's head.
Mr. Linton was upset. He again questioned, "Why are you here?"
Mrs. Silver hurriedly said, I caught this girl stealing in the school's infirmary."
Mr. Linton looked towards Alyssa. Before he could say anything, Alyssa spoke, "She is lying. I didn't steal anything."
"I saw you in the infirmary stealing. Don't lie" Mrs. Silver argued.
Alyssa knew she couldn't win against the attendant simply by arguing with her.
It's the worst feeling when you are innocent but is accused of something wrong.
Alyssa said, "You said you saw me stealing then tell me what I stole?"
The attendant remains tongue-tied on this question. She composed herself and shouted, "Then tell me what you were doing there?"
Alyssa removed her handkerchief from her palms and said, "I went there to get some medicines for my wound."
"Ha! I knew you were up to something. You know the rules, n.o.body is allowed to apply medicines on their own."
Alyssa frowned. It was clear as day that she hadn't applied any medicine on her wounds. But the attendant was still accusing her.
She looked towards the princ.i.p.al to know his opinion on the matter. The princ.i.p.al looked loathingly towards Alyssa and said, "You have caused trouble from time to time. Now you even broke the school's rule. So, you will be suspended for one year."
Alyssa looked towards him in disbelief. One-year suspension means she has to repeat her final year once again. She wouldn't be able to graduate this year. They are destroying her future.
Alyssa composed herself and thought hard to bend the matter in her favor. She had to resolve this matter then and there and fast. If she delayed this matter, they will find other ways to accuse her and later suspend or even worse rusticate her. She will not allow anyone else to decide her future, not anymore.
Alyssa turned towards the attendant and threatened the attendant, "Have you seen me applying any medicine on my wounds? If not, I will sue you for slandering me."
The attendant turned pale but later regained her confidence. She knew the Princ.i.p.al was on her side. She also knew about the financial status and her position in the society.
So she confidently said, "I have seen you beside the medicine drawer. And I knew in my heart whether you were applying it or not."
Alyssa knew she couldn't argue with her any further so she said, "You can call any doctor for the checkup. They can tell whether I have applied any medicine on it or not. If he says I didn't apply it, I will sue you for slander."
It was a long shot for Alyssa. She didn't know whether the doctor will speak truth or side with them slandering her. She needed time to think about her next step. She needed proof for her innocence so she asked for a doctor for the time being to stall the time.
Well, it is said that, 'Rumors always hardened to facts. Accusations are convictions in the public mind. You are guilty until proven innocent.'
This incident for Alyssa was not about proving herself guilty or innocent. She had to turn a new page so that no one in the future could think of bullying her.
