Lu Sheng shook his head to clear his thoughts and looked at Lu Xinyi in suspicion, "So, Lu Xinyi, does that mean you are still..."

Lu Xinyi scoffed, held her three fingers in the air and closed her eyes and p.r.o.nounced loudly like giving a holy sermon, "For the Holy Supreme Power above, I swear on my life if I am still not valid to reside in a nunnery, let the lightning struck me."

Opening her one eye she peeked at the clear sky in the window then turned to Lu Sheng with a taunting smile, "Satisfied?"

Lu Sheng scowled at her antics.

Master Lu pulled her in his embrace, Lu Xinyi rested her head on his chest, "You know Baby Pumpkin, that didn't matter. It wouldn't change a thing. But we wanted to make sure if we need to bury that Yu b.a.s.t.a.r.d."

A gasp left Lu Xinyi and she tore away from his embrace, and glared at him with disbelief, "Daddy! May G.o.d bestows Youhan with health and a long life. Don't say anything like that about him!"

Her fondness of Yu Youhan crept Master Lu insides. Although Lu Xinyi thought of Yu Youhan as a friend, the world wasn't as pg-13 as his little bud was.

Yu Youhan wanted more. And he would never let his daughter in a den of a wild beast like that without having a hold of his reins.

Everything was trivial, first, he had to get his princess out of this place, He kissed her forehead and a rare smile bloomed on the hard man's face. Only Lu Xinyi could do this without even trying, "Come on, Pumpkin! These are trivial things. We can discuss them when we get home. Go change."

Lu Xinyi froze and detached herself from her father.

Master Lu looked at her and frowned, "Go, Pumpkin! Your mother has asked the maids to make all your favourite foods."

She gulped and looked a the floor. It was now or never...

Lu Xinyi bit her lip to stop quivering and whispered, "Da...Daddy, I am not coming with you."

Master Lu breath hitched at the possibilities, "Why?"

Tears welled up in Lu Xinyi eyes and she shook her head, "Daddy, I love you. In fact, without a doubt, I love you more than anything bu...but Daddy I love myself more. I can't forget things, I remembered them just now..."

She looked away not able to make eye contact and her voice broke, "...I can't forget: you sent me away in the hostel to live alone, you caged me in the Mansion, then you forced me to marry that...that horrible man. Daddy, I hated my life there but I didn't have the courage to ever say it to you. Daddy I...I am sorry." 

She licked her lip, sniffed as more tears clouded her vision, "I...I tried to kill myself. I am sorry, Daddy. I...I crashed on Youhan's property in the dark forest and then I was in a coma for four months. Youhan could have left me in the forest or in a hospital to die but he helped me then. I will always owe him for this life and then...then living with him when I had no memory I realized my life was so e...empty, so unworthy. Everybody has a career and a social life except me..."

"...I am not going back, Daddy. I want to make a life and name of my own, BY my own. I wanna test my limits and know the world. Do the share of my own mistakes. Live every day instead of br...breathing every day. I was safe Daddy, but I wasn't happy."

Master Lu heart broke at her words. His little piece of heart tried to kill herself because of him. What could kill a parent more?

And now she wanted to dive in the world of wolves. How would his innocent girl live in the cunning, deceitful world?

His little angel still called him Daddy like when she was eight and hardly reached his knee. To him she was a Baby bird, that just hatched. How can he let her fly away from the nest in the lap of cruel winds?

"Ba...Baby Pumpkin, I will help you be whatever you want any...anything! Just Baby Pumpkin, forgive Daddy for one last time and come home with Daddy. Please, my Baby, you know you are my life. How will your Daddy live without you?" Master Lu hoa.r.s.e voice broke. And Lu Xinyi heart broke too.

Lu Xinyi eyes pooled, she sniffed and bit her upper lip with puffed cheeks, "Da...Daddy, please, you forgive me. I will visit you every weekend. Yo...You wouldn't even notice I am not there, I promise!"

She could see the heartbreak on her father's face. He looked vulnerable and not the man who fought on the front line on the border. Knowing she was the cause, slain her heart, "...But Daddy, I need to do this."

Lu Sheng who was himself on the verge of tears, desperately cried, "Lu Xinyi, don't be naive! You can't stay with a man you have no relation with! He isn't a n.o.body, he is a tyc.o.o.n for G.o.d's sake! He is always in limelight! If the media was to see you around him, you know what kind of stories they will make up! let's just go home! Mom, Lu Han, Dad and everybody misses you!"

Lu Xinyi angrily glared at him through her teary twin-north stars, "You don't need to worry about it! Not that it is any of your business but I am moving out soon."

Master Lu sighed in resignation, "Let me arrange everything for you, Baby Pumpkin and then when you are tired with the independent life, you can just come home with me, Hmm?"

He held her hands and gave her a painfully sad smile, his slight wrinkles more visible today than ever. He felt aged more than he did in decades, "I will find the safest society for you, we can arrange..."

Lu Xinyi shook her head and took her right hand from his and brought it on the back of his right hand, "No, Daddy. I want to do it all on my own and Daddy don't worry when I fall I know I have to crawl back to my safe haven, to you. To my Daddy." She brought his left hand to her lips and kissed it, "Please, Daddy."

Master Lu smiled at her sadly and brought her right hand to his lips and kissed it too. His Baby Pumpkin knew how to play with her Daddy's heart stings.

She could break or mend his heart with a single word.

"As my Baby Pumpkin wishes. Ca...can you at least let me know where you will move?"

Lu Xinyi nodded her head with a watery smile, "Yes, Daddy." She dived into another hug without realizing if she was rea.s.suring her father's heart or her own. 

"I love you, Daddy." Lu Xinyi whispered through her tears.

A lone tear escaped Master Lu eyes, "Baby Pumpkin, your father loves you more than any man will ever."
