Reflection In The Mirror 19 Announcement Of Next Round

Judas and Rowan made their way towards their tent. 

   Today was Judas's 2nd and final fight in the primarily round.  Until now, they were weeding out the weak. 

     After this round, the real compet.i.tion begins. From now on, only the strongest and smartest will survive to ascend into the next stage. 

   Judas had joined quite last. By then most of the trash had been dealt with. Leaving only  a few like Tiger(but he was eliminated too so). 

  While he did finish his last round fine, it wasn't guaranteed that he would win this one as well. So Judas was obviously nervous. Besides he doesn't remember how that one fight went anyway. 

   Taking a deep breath, he sat down beside Rowan to watch the fight while the old man debriefed him on his opponent. 

    "You're up in 3rd and your next opponent is Eve from Root Famiglia."

  "Hmm.. A woman?" 

"Yes. While she is from a minor famiglia. Eve is still rather famous for her ability" 

     Now, that should be something worth hearing.  He turned to look at Rowan, ignoring the cheers from the crowd as Wulf from Matryoshka killed his opponent. 

   "Her ability is called Arachnid. Simply put she turns into giant spider and shoots web" 

  "...." 

"...." 

   "Ahem!..." 

 ' He looks seriously unimpressed….' Judas thought. Whatever she did, he hoped Eve Woman wouldn't come out of this fight alive. Cause it looks like Rowan will murder her if she did...

   Shrugging he turned back to the fight since Rowan did not say anything else. Judas watched Arena as Wulf left it and the 2nd compet.i.tor and her opponent walked in. He is after her. 

  Oh.. Wasn't that the girl and the man from the day before yesterday? 

  Without taking his eyes off of them. Judas asked Rowan. 

  "Rowan, who is that girl?" 

    The man hummed giving Judas a knowing look. Then turned to look at the girl. 

    "The girl is Beast from Evangelion Famiglia, one of the top 5. They are rivals to our own Fleur Famiglia but also were allied to the former Hide famiglia like us. It would be better if you stayed away from her. Though, of course forbidden romance is exciting too!"

    Judas looked at him strangely. 

'He totally misunderstood…'

    He sweatdropped and turned his attention back to the fight that was just starting. 

    If it could be called a fight that is. 

   Currently the man looked ready to s.h.i.+t himself and the girl had a blank expression. Seriously, he probably still sees whatever the girl made him see a few days ago. 

"Controlled and long lasting hallucination huh? Interesting…"

   Hoo? The guy s.h.i.+t himself again, how disgusting. 

  Then the stupid pig proceeded to run away and jump right off of the platform. 

  "...." 

 Judas ma.s.saged his forehead feeling disgusted. People were whispering among themselves as Beast made her way back to her famiglia.  Announcing their win, the commentator called for Judas and Eve. His blue eyes sharpened a bit, making his way down to the arena. 

 He needs to finish this, and fast. .

   The moment he stepped into the platform, Eve attacked, forcing him to roll out of the way. The white haired and red eyed woman laughed, looking down on him. 

   "Oh my~ you aren't as useless as I thought then!" 

    Wide open! 

Using the opportunity, Judas jumped. Slas.h.i.+ng his dagger against Eve's hand. Only one slash and she will be dead. No matter how small. 

   Unsurprisingly the woman dodged out of the way, socking him in the face. Oof, she was strong. 

    Smirking at his b.l.o.o.d.y nose, she opened her mouth. 

  "What?~ Is that al-" 

    Blood splashed onto his face  forcing him to close his eyes. While Eve went limp, with her throat slit open. 

   The crowd cheered for him loudly. 

"WHOOOOO!!!!" 

   "YOU GO BOY!!!!" 

"REEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!" 

 Ignoring them, Judas wiped the blood off of his eyes. He did not look at the dead body of the spider woman still bleeding on the platform and made his way straight back to the bridge. 

    To be honest, he only won this easily cause he was fast and the woman got over confident. 

   Sighing, he walked back towards ROWAN, who was waiting for him. 

    When they get back Judas wants to bathe. He felt dirty… 

    Swallowing back the bile rising up his throat, he smiled at Rowan and they went back to their seats.

    He will not throw up. 

Not now… 

  Not when they are surrounded by people. 

   Never show weakness for enemies can be anywhere. 

 Taking the towel offered to him, Judas started to wipe his face while Rowan explained how he was the last to fight because there was news about the event changing. 

   There was some kind of iron like taste in his mouth. 

  'Ahh a blood…' he belatedly realized, waiting for the event to be announced.  Just as antic.i.p.ated, fireworks filled the sky and a holographic screen appeared on top of the platform. 

   Loud voice boomed as a man appeared on the platform flas.h.i.+ly 

     "HEYYYYY!!! EVERYBODY!!! WELCOME TO THE COMPEt.i.tION FOR THE TOP!" 

   "HEEEEEEYYYYYY!!!!!!!!" 

 Judas winced at the loud voice and turned to look at Rowan… He had earbuds on…. 

    "This is c.o.c.katoo! Your dear host! It's great to see you again! Especially for this special occasion!".

   The holographic screen s.h.i.+fted to show a layout of an island. He could hear Rowan beside him humm in regronisation. He should probably ask him later. 

  " As some of you may recognize!This is Death island!Where the famous game with 1 percent of survival chance was held once upon a time!" 

   "Yes, yes. You have guessed right! Our compet.i.tors are to survive on this island for a week!! Isn't that exciting!? We will show each day on our very own Mafia Channel!!! So stay tuned and make sure you have paid your subscription!" Clearing his voice, c.o.c.katoo got to the rules. 

" Now for the rules! 

1.You are allowed to bring anything, expect communication devices! 

2.You can do anything there, but trying to escape will bring you instant death. So no doing that!

3. You are allowed to make allies but there must be pacts and conditions. Look forward to seeing you backstabbing each other by the way. 

4. Survive for a week and you ascend into the semi-finals! 

   That's all! Wish you all luck! There are various traps, treasures and strange animals on that island. Chance of survival is 1% for normies. But you're all gifted anyway. 

   Goodluck to all 100 compet.i.tors!! You have one week to prepare! See you at the island!" 

   Judas closed his eyes and inhaled. When he opened them back, there were specks of amethyst in his otherwise blue eyes. 

  One week.. 

 One week to prepare.. 

  They have to make the most of it.
