Chapter 280 - Shu Yan saw her ran out and retched around the corner. (1)
Hu Ruixue had signed Shu Yan up to the VIP cla.s.s with one-on-one instructor. Their training area was separated from that of the other students. Many shared a same one on the outside. On the inside, however, was an independent area with a roof. They were s.h.i.+elded from natural elements.
The instructor was a particularly friendly one. He’d never criticize Shu Yan when she made a mistake. Instead, he would explain to her patiently. Back when she was working on her driver’s license when she was in college, she split the car with 3 ~ 4 others and would only be able to drive a few times after an entire day. Most of the time was spent waiting. Now that she had the car all to herself, she would get what used to be half a day’s training in just an hour.
Shu Yan hadn’t expected that Subject 2 would be so much more difficult in this ear as opposed to the future time. She thought that learning how to drive back in the 90s would be easier, but just the parking test alone had her stumped. Then there were the unilateral bridge and undulated road test. Perhaps because the road conditions were much worse now so she would need to learn all those skills. At least that was what Shu Yan tried to tell herself.
“Don’t panic. It’s easy to stall the car if you panic. Don’t worry. I will be there to prompt you during your examination,” said the instructor patiently.
Shu Yan gave him a look and turned back around to practice quietly. It seemed that it was one’s instructor instead of an examiner who’d accompany one on the driving test, leaving a lot of wiggle room. Per the instructor, Subject 2 was the most difficult part of the entire process. The actual road test was much easier. As long as she drove through a traffic light and he said it was fine and that was it.
In fact, Subject 2 wasn’t all that bad either. There was no laser back then and, if one ran into a not-so-strict instructor, even when one touched the line a little one could still pa.s.s.
Shu Yan felt that her waist and back were sore after a morning of practice. She had planned on practicing that afternoon as well but ended up telling the instructor that they would carry on the next day.
“How did it go?” asked Hu Ruixue when she saw Shu Yan collapsed on the couch.
“Don’t even ask. I am exhausted. Luckily I am such a smart one. I will be ready for my examination in just a couple of days.” She could take Subject 2 and Subject 3 on the same day. Subject 4 didn’t exist just yet and then all she needed to do was to past the road test and earn her driver’s license.
“Alright then. I’ll have a gift ready for you for when you earned your driver’s license.
Shu Yan gave her a dubious look. “You are not thinking about getting me a car, are you? That’s too much and I will not accept that.”
Food was fine. She wouldn’t know what to give back if it was something overly expensive. Not to mention that she could afford one herself.
“I’m not just giving it to you for free. Do you have any idea how many franchise shops we have currently?” asked Hu Ruixue as she looked at Shu Yan solemnly.
“How many?” asked Shu Yan as she sat up.
“500. Xianxue had over 500 franchise and our garment factory has over 1,000 workers. Well? Don’t you think that calls for celebration?”
Shu Yan was stunned by the number. How long had it been? How did it happen so quickly? She panicked a little suddenly. At this rate, it is easy for everything to crumble if anything went wrong.
“Are we in a lot of debt?” asked Shu Yan worrisomely.
“Don’t worry. Just the franchise fee and payment for the merchandizes are enough to tie us over.” A shop came out to be 60,000 yuan. 500 shops meant 30 million yuan. Not to mention that their fall underwear series were already selling overseas. That too brought in a lot of capital for their company. They had good revenue and there was nothing to worry about.
“That does call for celebration but you don’t need to buy men anything.” Shu Yan felt that they could just hold a celebration during Labor’s Day. She didn’t really need anything herself.
Hu Ruixue disagreed. “You contributed the most to our company’s success. You were the one who came up with the proposal as well as the franchising one. You were even in charge of the promotion activities of the franchises. If it wasn’t for your proposals, our company would not have grown as fast as it did. We are buying the car for you under the company’s name and a.s.signing it to you. How does it make sense for a boss of a company this size to not have a car a.s.signed to her?”
Well, yeah, but it was obvious that it would become her personal ride. Shu Yan was still letting it sink in. She now had car and chauffeur just like that?
