Chapter 423 - "My daughter did not come home for the New Year." (2)
The couple exchanged a look with each other when they heard that Shu Yan wanted to sell her share of the stocks.
“Why do you want to pull out so suddenly?” Lao Zhang knew that Shu Yan is wealthy now. She could probably make what they make in a year in a few days but who complained that they have too much money? She didn’t even need to do anything but to sit there and collect the dividends every year. What was so bad about that?
“The company is growing bigger and bigger and I really don’t have the time and effort for anything else.” Shu Yan lifted her hand and stopped Lao Zhang from talking. She smiled and said to them, “I didn’t say to give to you for free. You will have to buy my shares from me.”
When they sat down and did the calculations, Shu Yan’s 20% shares came out to be 500,000 yuan. Shu Yan signed the contract with Lao Zhang and went home with her money.
She had just arrived home when she saw Aunty sitting in the living room. Wasn’t she on vacation? Why was she here?
“Boss, my daughter said she found a job that pays double when school was out so she wouldn’t be going home. She told me that she would be back on the first day of new year but I had yet to seen her. I called her at the shop that she used to work at but they said she hadn’t been going to work. I was so worried that I took the redeye back.” Aunty quickly told Shu Yan when she saw her.
“Have you looked for her at school?” Shu Yan didn’t expect that Aunty was here to look for her daughter.
“I did. She wasn’t there. I went to her work place as well but n.o.body had seen her……. Could something had happened to her?” asked Aunty, a little frantic.
“Don’t worry just yet. Perhaps she was still at work.” Shu Yan tried her best to comfort Aunty. She then gave Feng Zeyu a call to have him help look for the girl. After hanging up on the call, Shu Yan recalled what Feng Zeyu had said and asked, “Aunty, try to think about where she could be. That will help us narrow it down. City Nan is very big and looking for her is like looking for a needle in a haystack.”
“Let me think. Let me think about it.” Aunty was really worried now and her mind was a jumble. She knocked on her own head with her fist. “Why is it that I can’t think of any of them?”
“Calm down first. The more anxious you are, the more difficult it is for you to recall. Take a deep breath and calm down. Don’t worry, I will also have Hu Ruixue help look in addition to Feng Zeyu. Oh right, have you made a police report yet?” By now Aunty had made Shu Yan nervous as well.
But the more nervous Aunty was, the more difficult it was for her to recall anything.
“I did make a police report but they told me a certain number of hours had to have pa.s.sed first.” Aunty started sobbing with her hands over her face.
Feng Zeyu, after receiving Shu Yan’s call, quickly had someone go asked around where Aunty’s daughter worked. He went over to Shu Yan’s place himself and asked Aunty her daughter’s name, age, height, and other characteristics about her in a very professional way.
“Oh right. I don’t even know your daughter’s name. Do you have a photo of her? It might be easier if you have one.” Shu Yan knocked on her own head. She was being silly too, asking others to help look for Aunty’s daughter without any of the information.
“My daughter’s name is Li Shuyu. She’s 1.64 meters and somewhat skinny. She’s fair skinned. Photo, right. We took a photo a year ago and I carry it with me wherever I go.” Aunty frantically dug through her purse and handed the photo over to Shu Yan with her hand shaking. “We took this photo just last year. This one on the side is my daughter. Boss, please help me. I can’t live without her.”
She would not have made it all these years if it wasn’t for her daughter.
“Yu had already sent people looking. I will give Ruixue a call right now and have her help out as well.” All Shu Yan could say was that she would do her best to look for Aunty’s daughter. The girl had a mind of her own. n.o.body could really stop her if she wanted to walk away. Shu Yan didn’t want to make any promises.
