Kana did not even need to think as she wrapped her arms around Kori and jumped to the side. The beam of light swept past the spot she was just in, taking out another section of the mountain. "Ahhh!" Pain surged through Kana's leg. She was not quick enough. The speed of the attack was too fast, and now….

"Oh? Dodge that? Not fully, it seems." The strange man licked his lips as he looked at the Kana's left leg. Half of it was gone, and blood spilled to the ground. He took a deep breath, and a strange grin appeared on his face. "It has been a long time since I smelled such delicious blood. I changed my mind. Instead of killing you, I will just shove some tubes in your veins and slowly drain your blood. Don't worry I will keep you alive by injecting you with the nutrients your body needs. It would be a shame for you to die when your body can keep pumping out such delightfully scented blood."

Kana gritted her teeth and dealt with the pain. More than anything, she wished she knew how to use her life element. She could then grow back a leg or two. "I don't think you will ever get a chance. I am death, and death is me…."

Kana released her death element to the maximum that she could and pointed her finger at the strange man. "Withering…" 

"What is this? Hmmm? Interesting. Interesting! To think I caught the fledgling G.o.ddess of death. This is even better. No wonder your blood smelt so delightful. Sadly your little parlor tricks won't work on me." The foliage that was turning to dust as Kana's withering made it over to the strange man suddenly stopped only a meter away from him as he landed on the ground. With a wave of his hand the power of Kana's withering disappeared. Causing Kana's eyes to widen in shock."You see…. I have captured a few G.o.ddesses of death before. Each time they screamed such wonderfully screams as I made them my women. Each one only lasted a few years, though, but it was enough to suck enough of their power out of them to bring me to the state I am today."

The strange man slowly walked forward toward Kana, with each word, he took another step until he was not standing over Kana, who was trying to get away. Helplessness and fear filled Kana's eyes. The man in front of her was beyond the power of anything she had ever faced before besides that old man. He was even able to stop the most powerful attack in her humanoid form, she only had one last trump card. But she felt that even in the presence of this man, she would not be able to do anything. She could feel the pressure coming off him, and it felt thousands of times stronger than what even her soul could produce. 

But Kana was not willing to give up. Even if this man was powerful, she could only attempt to use her soul, and if that didn't work…. Kana bit her lip and looked up at Kori. her bottom lip quivered as she reached up and cupped the little girl's cheeks. "Run…. Mama will give you time to escape."

"Oh? You still got more? Even when you can barely move? Even while losing so much blood? Interesting! It has been a long time since I found something this interesting. You really do make a good toy now, show me what will you do to allow the little ice thing to escape?" The strange man found the whole situation entertaining. His ego was as high as the heavens themselves. 

"Mama?" Kori was confused, she did not wish to leave Kana. She looked up at the strange man, her eyes filled with tears that rained down as small cubes of ice. "Don't hurt Mama!" Kori's blue hair began to flutter as ice spread throughout the area, freezing everything it touched but the strange man did not seem to be frightened by it in the slightest. 

Instead, the smile he had on his face turned cold, blood l.u.s.t radiated off his body as he pointed his staff at Kori."Little ice thing, you dare attack me."

"No, Kori, run!" Kana yelled, but before she could muster the strength to try to push Kori away, the strange man blasted Kori with a ball of energy, sending her flying into the forest, leaving a trail of ice in her wake.

"That toy is no longer needed now that I got something better. Now then, show me what you can do. Please keep me entertained. If I am not entertained, I get angry, and when I get angry, I might just…." The strange man's staff suddenly turned into a large ax. He held it high in the air and slammed it down towards Kana.

"Ahhh!" Kana felt pain coming from her back. The strange man had chopped off one of her wings! 

Kana bit her bottom lip until it bled. She no longer hesitated and summoned out her soul. The bells of the world did not even get to sound before her soul was shoved back into her body. "What was this pathetic move!? Did you think some weak soul could do something to this Lord of Darkness!? Enough, I am done playing." The ax once more came down, causing more blood to splash.

Kana had pain shoot up her side. She did not need to look to know that her other leg had been chapped off. She wanted to scream, she wanted to yell for help. But she couldn't, the pain was just too much. The loss of blood was also starting to drain her as well. She knew if she could not get some healing soon that she would eventually die. 

"Now then, with no legs, you can no longer try to run. So behave, and I will stop the bleeding. I can't have my new little G.o.ddess of death dying on me now, can I?." The strange man said with a chuckle as he waved his staff, causing a white glow to appear on Kana's body. The wounds from the parts that were cut off closed up and stopped bleeding. It appeared he had no intentions of fully healing her. Kana could only glare at the strange man. She took a deep breath and let out a stream of flames.

"Oh? Ahaha! To think you could even do that. Very interesting, maybe I will let you live a bit longer and slowly savor you." The strange man seemed even more excited than before.

But as he went to reach down to pick Kana up, his sight turned dark as pain filled his face. "Who the h.e.l.l do you think you are to do such things to my wife!?"
