The Fu family has been peaceful within themselves and things seemed to be going on well with all of them except a family member who was living outside the Fu house.

Fu Juan’s marriage to her husband has been rocky for the past few years. The Fu family members had an idea about it, but they couldn’t do anything since Fu Juan doesn’t talk to them about her relations.h.i.+p.

If no problem was brought to their desk, there was no need for them to probe, given the kind of person Fu Juan was.

If you bring up her topic or try to help when she didn’t ask for it, especially when it came to a sensitive topic like her marriage, that was not going to end well.

Even Grandfather Fu doesn’t try to meddle in her relations.h.i.+p since she doesn’t listen anyway.

This evening after Fu Juan returned to work tired, a servant brought her a bottle of water to drink after which she went to her bathroom to have a long bath.

Now dressed in her night robe, she went to the dinner table to have the food prepared for her. Her palate seemed very different compared to the kind of food she used to it at the Fu House.

From the dishes laid out for her, she seemed to be on a diet, or she had turned to have something special for vegan dishes.

While eating, her husband came back home, and they acted as if they didn’t see each other. No glance or greeting was said.

Fu Juan’s husband clearly saw Fu Juan at the dining table and heard the sounds of cutlery, but he just walked past like there was n.o.body there, or any sound coming from that place.

Likewise Fu Juan, she clearly saw her husband walking in, but she pretended not to see or hear the sound of his footsteps.

Quickly freshening up and changing into his night robe, he appeared at the dining hall with a doc.u.ment in his hand.

Once he got there, he placed the doc.u.ment on the table and said to Fu Juan who was almost done having her food, “I need you to sign those papers.”

Finally, She spared him a glance, “Is that the reason you agreed to come home and probably want to spend the night here?” She asked after taking a good look at his appearance.

”I don’t think that should be any of your concern right now.” Her husband replied with his face, void of any emotion.

Fu Juan went back to eating without bothering to take a glance at the doc.u.ment he wanted her to sign.

”Take it away, I don’t want my dinner to be ruined.” She said before sending a spoon of vegetable salad into her mouth.

Before he could reply to her, a servant came by to ask if he wanted an emergency dinner to be whipped up for him.

”I ate outside, and sitting in the same room with this woman will make me lose my appet.i.te.” He said to the servant with an ugly expression on his face.

Seeing that the atmosphere was very terrible, the servant scurried away.

It’s not like this was a new thing, but it looked from the situation at hand, that things were worse, so she had to leave before she gets into their fight.

If Fu Juan’s husband was spending the night there, he usually called in advance to ask what kind of food he wanted for his dinner, but since he didn’t d that, the servant had to come to ask him about it.

All this while, Fu Juan was still enjoying her meal, which her husband couldn’t take. There was no way he wouldn’t lose his appet.i.te from seeing her face, but here she was eating as if nothing concerned her.

It wouldn’t be bad if he ruined her appet.i.te right? With that thought, he pointed at the doc.u.ment he left on the table and said, “I need you to sign those divorce papers by tonight, I have already penned down my signature.”

After saying that, he was in the move to walk away, but after successfully igniting Fu Juan’s temper, where did he think he was going?

Fu Juan was so angry that she pushed the plates off the table, and the sound of them shattering on the ceramic tiles was so loud that the servants came running over, but once they saw the estranged husband and wife at each other’s throat, they all disappeared from their view.

”What makes you think that you are qualified to ask me for a divorce? Did that woman give you the courage to pull this stunt again?!” Fu Juan asked with bloodshot eyes.

”Looking at you, all flaring up and acting like a not well-bred daughter!” He said with disgust, but he received a quick slap on his face.

He didn’t look surprised as he touched the side of his cheek that got slapped and said, “You get angry when I talk about your family and get you violent. Am I wrong that you were prestigious family couldn’t raise you properly?”

His purposely trying to get on her nerves by talking bad about her family was something she couldn’t tolerate, and so she raised her hand again to slap him, but he caught them on time and held them strongly.

”You want to hit me again? Never again! I keep saying that you were not raised properly, and you continue giving me proof that I am not bluffing. What kind of woman hits the man she is still married to?” Her husband asked.

Fu Juan managed to s.n.a.t.c.h her hands from his hold and said fiercely, “The kind of woman that is constantly insulted and disrespected in her marriage by her husband who committed adultery on so many occasions. And don’t you ever speak ill of my family again! I was well raised, but it’s actually you who asked for this kind of treatment from me!”

Her husband laughed and said to her, “Since you are aware of my continuous adultery which I had stopped hiding from you since a long time ago, why have you refused to sign the divorce papers?”
