Chapter 821

“You being here is outside my expectation as you didn’t pick up my call. Nonetheless, I want to bring you here from the beginning. It seems fate has arranged for you to be a hero on this occasion.” Nick Fury said with a smile on his face.

“What? Did you say you being here was a complete coincidence?” Peter asked surprisedly. 

“I used to know everything, but after everything that happened 8 months ago and the snap, I lost many of my information resources, and now, it feels like my eyes are half closed. My information is inadequate, my staff is scarce, and even a d.a.m.n high school kid dares to ignore my calls!” Nick Fury said angrily. 

But Peter didn’t know why he didn’t feel pressured at all by Nick Fury’s anger. Instead, he felt like laughing hard. Still, he knew that he had to hold it back. 

Nick Fury didn’t seem to notice Peter’s tangled-up expression and just went on rambling about everything on his mind before taking out a holographic projection device in his pocket. “A week ago, a village in Mexico was razed to the ground by a hurricane. According to an eyewitness in the area, the hurricane has a face on it!” Nick Fury said as a holographic image of the hurricane with a face showed up.

Meanwhile, Ned was snoring peacefully on the sofa. 

“A similar incident occurred in Morocco three days later, also destroying a village. But this time, it was an Earthquake with a face on the ground.” Nick Fury said, but before he could continue, he was interrupted by a knock on the door.

“Peter! I think you may need some psychological counseling when we return. What you experienced earlier was traumatizing!” Mr. Harrington’s voice was heard from behind the door.

“On it, Mr. Harrington!” Peter replied. Mr. Harrington then left, and Peter could breathe in relief once again. 

“So, what I am about to say was, …” Nick Fury continued, but he was once again interrupted by a knock on the door.

“Babe, are you in there?” Betty’s voice was heard from outside.

“Ned is already asleep here, Betty!” Peter immediately shouted back. After a few short conversations later, Betty finally left.

“I swear if anyone else comes knocking on that door, I will make them regret it!” Nick Fury said annoyedly.

Nick Fury just sighed helplessly and took a small box from his pocket before giving it to Peter. “Tony Stark left you this. He told me that the thing inside would be able to give you access to his latest invention. But he also leaves a message. You have to be responsible in order to use this item well, it would cause a disaster if you don’t!” Nick Fury said as he sat back down again.

Peter opened to box and saw a pair of gla.s.ses inside.

Peter put on his Spider Suit and came with Nick Fury to the temporary s.h.i.+ELD base, but it wasn’t as luxurious as Peter might think as s.h.i.+ELD this time used an abandoned sewer as their base. 

Peter couldn’t believe how low s.h.i.+ELD had fallen! But fortunately, Peter didn’t really care about stuff like that. 

“Come on in. There is no need to hide your ident.i.ty here. Everyone already knows who you are.” Nick Fury said casually. Peter walked in as Nick Fury introduced his people. 

“And this one is Beck!” Nick Fury said casually.

“The Mysterio?” Peter asked curiously.

“I am what now?!” Beck said as he took off the gla.s.s bowl that covered his head.

“Oh, it’s just the name the news gave you!” Peter explained immediately.

“Well, you can just call me Quentin! I am Quentin Beck!” Mysterio said casually. Peter then shook his hand as they greeted each other.

“You have done a great job today! I saw you hanging on the bell tower! It would be nice to use someone like you in my world.” Mysterio said as he complimented Peter.

“Thank you but wait a minute! Did you just say your world?” Peter asked curiously.

“Oh, Mr. Beck here isn’t from Earth!” Nick Fury interjected.

“The multiverse exists, Mr. Parker. Your world is Universe 616, and I come from the Earth of Universe 833!” Mysterio explained earnestly.

“You are from another universe? I thought it was only a theoretical concept! I mean, this knowledge would change our complete understanding of singularity! What we are talking about now is expanding our knowledge of the universe itself! How it’s all connected with Quantum Fluctuation too!” Peter said enthusiastically. 

Peter was so excited that he kept talking while the other didn’t seem to fully understand what he rambled about. Peter kept going until he saw the look on Nick Fury and Agent Hill’s faces. 

“Sorry, it’s just really shocking to me!” Peter said embarra.s.sedly. 

“Don’t apologize for being smarter than anyone else in the room!” Mysterio said gently.

“Geez!” Nick Fury said as he shook his head. He turned around, and the agent that had been waiting for his order activated the holographic projection immediately, revealing a black hole.

“Those attacking creatures emerged from the stable orbit inside the black hole, and those creatures are composed of pure elements! Earth, Wind, Water, and lastly, Fire!” Mysterio explained. “Their incarnations spread throughout the various mythological beliefs of the Human Race, and no one actually realizes that they are indeed true beings!” Mysterio said knowingly.

“Just like Thor, right? He is also a mythological figure, and now I am learning about his race in physics cla.s.s!” Peter said suddenly. Everything that Mysterio said is credible as they also knew that Thor and his world were from mythical stories, but they ended up being the truth!

“Many years ago, they became a reality on my Earth, and we a.s.sembled all forces to fight them, but each battle only made them stronger! In the end, only one team remained, and I was one of them.” Mysterio showed a sad expression as he seems to be reminded of his past.

“Now, the elementals have come to our world, and the location they attacked is the same location that Mysterio here told us! Our satellite has confirmed his information.” Agent Hill said solemnly.

“Mr. Beck here already eliminated three of the elementals, and now, only the last one remains, which is the elemental of fire!” Nick Fury added.

“The elemental of fire is the strongest among the elementals, it’s also responsible for destroying my Earth and taking away my family!” Mysterio bowed his head in sorrow. Although Peter felt sorry for Mysterio, Peter still couldn’t figure out something about the elementals. 

Why would they attack the Earth one by one? 

Peter disagreed with the fate and destiny statement as Mr. Stark and Mr. Dio already proved that they could change their destiny! 

Compared to Thanos, these elementals didn’t seem to be as powerful as Mysterio described them. Or was there no Thanos in Mr. Beck’s world? 

Peter’s instinct told him that something was amiss, but he couldn’t just deny Mr. Beck’s kindness.
