It was Sat.u.r.day, Xiang Nuan wanted to stay at the dorm to play more games. Min Lili
thought that was a waste of time and dragged Xiang Nuan to go shopping with her. It
was autumn now, most summer clothes and sandals were on sale. Xiang Nuan picked
out a flowery, bare shouldered dress and a black print short sleeved top with sequins.
The short sleeved top was a bit dazzling, with b.u.t.terfly print and lots of different colored
sequins on the wings. Xiang Nuan didn’t particularly like the flamboyant style, but the texture
of the fabric felt so good that she decided to give it a try.

The salesperson: “A lot of people have tried this one, but it looks the best on you.”

Xiang Nuan also agreed, it wasn’t as bad as she had imagined it would look. The point
was that it was from a good brand, well-made, and had a cheap price tag.

It was rare to find such a good deal.

Nevertheless, the two girls still tried to bargain the price down. The salesperson tried to
persuade Xiang Nuan that the top looked great on her and she should buy it. In the end,
Min Lili retorted, “It looks good on her because she’s good looking and has a great figure.
It doesn’t have much to do with the top.”

The salesperson couldn’t argue with that. Xiang Nuan’s face was silky and supple, she
had beautiful, spirited eyes, fair skin, and long, pencil straight legs…...The salesperson,
though unhappy about it, couldn’t really find any words to refute it.

The top had been in the store for some time now. It was difficult to sell it since it didn’t
suit most people.

The salesperson said, “Alright, alright, you’re good looking. Whatever you say.”

The girls bought the top at an unbelievably low price.

Xiang Nuan felt that she had got a big bargain and patted Min Lili’s shoulder, “Let’s go
eat, I’ll buy!”

Min Lili happily walked with her to the restaurant area on the fifth floor. They were deciding
what to eat when Min Lili saw that there was a special promotion at one of the restaurants.

It was a newly opened BBQ place and the promotion had something to do with Kings of Glory:

Any Kings of Glory players will enjoy different discounts in the store based on their rank,
up to 50% off.

Kings of Glory, based on a player’s points, has 6 ranks. The lowest is “Bronze,” and the
highest being “Master.” Other than that, the top 100 on each region are ranked as “Challenger.”

Min Lili excitedly pulled Xiang Nuan’s elbow, “Nuannuan, isn’t this the game you’re playing?
We can get a discount!”

Xiang Nuan grabbed her wrist, “Let’s go, hurry. Let’s get out of here.”

“Why?”

Why? Because, only Masters could enjoy a 50% off and she was only Bronze…...The
newbie at the bottom of the ladder, she could only get 5% off. It was asking to be humiliated
while getting nothing in return.

Such was the reality of the real world. Therefore, she had to go up to the Master level even
just to get a 50% discount on BBQ.

Strange thoughts like this filled Xiang Nuan’s mind.

While the two were debating, Min Lili’s eyes brightened up. “Look, a handsome guy.”

Xiang Nuan looked over, uhr, it was Shen Zemu……?

She soon realized that he must have come here for the 50% off BBQ.

There were another man and a woman walking over with Shen Zemu. The man was
Waiwai and the woman was tall with short hair and looked very energetic. She was sizing
up Xiang Nuan at the same time.

Xiang Nuan walked over, as gracefully as possible, to greet them.

Waiwai seemed very happy to meet her by chance. He pa.s.sionately introduced them to
Xiang Nuan, “This beauty here is Yao Jiamu of our cla.s.s. She and Shen Zemu are the
twin mus,[1] hahaha.”

Shen Zemu cast a glance at him.

Yao Jiamu cordially greeted the two girls. Though she seemed quite friendly, Xiang Nuan
could sense that she was somewhat cautious, a girl’s instinct.

“Are you here for the BBQ, too?” Waiwai asked.

Shen Zemu, while Waiwai was asking, quickly skimmed through the roll-up banner in front
of the store. Then his eyes fixed at the bottom line where it read “Bronze, 5% off.”

Xiang Nuan: = =

Silent ridicule was the most deadly.

Min Lili, who was quite naive, immediately followed Waiwai into the restaurant after he said,
“Let’s go eat together. We can have a 50% discount.”

Xiang Nuan had no choice to go along with them.

It was true that she wanted to get closer to Shen Zemu, but this was the wrong occasion.

After they sat down at the table, they were chatting while looking through the menu. Waiwai
asked Xiang Nuan and Min Lili, “Aren’t you going to the main campus for the new students
welcome event?”

Min Lili was a bit sorry for themselves, “No, we didn’t get tickets.”

Nanshan University had two campuses, the main campus was inside the city while the
colleges that Xiang Nuan and Shen Zemu attended had moved to the new campus in the
suburb. Tonight’s new student welcome event was held in the auditorium at the main campus,
with limited tickets available, not every new students could get a ticket.

Waiwai comforted them, “There’s not much to see anyway. It’ll take two hours just to ride
back and forth.”

“That’s true.”

Yao Jiamu asked Xiang Nuan, “Do you also play Kings of Glory?”

“I just started, not very good at it.” Xiang Nuan was a bit embarra.s.sed and hoped that she
wouldn’t ask her about her rank.

“What’s your rank?” Yao Jiamu picked at the topic Xiang Nuan didn’t want to talk about.

Xiang Nuan asked back, “Xuejie, which rank are you?”

“I’ll move up to Master after I win one more match. I’m waiting for Shen G.o.d to carry me.”
While she was talking, she winked at Shen Zemu.

Xiang Nuan was jealous of Yao Jiamu that she could interact with Shen Zemu this way.
She wouldn’t dare to do the same.

Other than that, Xiang Nuan also envied Yao Jiamu’s gaming skills. “Xuejie, you’re
awesome!”

“Not really, the one across is the awesome one, a Challenger.”

Only the first 100 players in each region could reach Challenger.

Xiang Nuan admirably looked at Shen Zemu. Her expression showed that her feelings
were genuine.

Shen Zemu, however, acted as if he didn’t hear their conversation. He flipped through the
menu with his head bowed down. From Xiang Nuan’s angle, she could only see his eyebrows,
eyelashes, and nose. Shen Zemu asked, “What do you want to order?”

Yao Jiamu knew him well, so she didn’t pay attention to him and continued her conversation
with Xiang Nuan, “Xiang Nuan, you can ask Shen Xuezhang to carry you. With his help, you’ll
move up more quickly.”

Xiang Nuan said, “I don’t want anyone to carry me. I’ll be Master by myself sooner or later.”

Shen Zemu’s eyebrows moved a bit, raising his eyes to glance at her. There was surprise in
his eyes when he saw Xiang Nuan’s facial expression which was as confident as a peac.o.c.k
since he had thought that she was just saying that out of spite.

But wait, where did she get her confidence from?

Yao Jiamu was somewhat stunned, then laughed and raised her thumb to Xiang Nuan,
“Young lady, good for you.”

Shen Zemu cast down his eyes to continue his search through the menu. While he was
flipping, he added, “A stubborn Bronze indeed.”

He had emphasized the word, “stubborn,” as if he was using a thick marker to underline a
keyword on a textbook.
