Xiang Nuan was sound asleep. Suddenly she could hear noises in her ear.

She slowly woke up and her brain finally made sense of the noise: “Lin Chuyan, my hubby, Lin Chuyan, my hubby! Hahahahaha…...Lin Chuyan, my hubby, Lin Chuyan, my hubby! Hahahahaha……”

Xiang Nuan instantly became enraged.

She bolted upright and stared at Lin Chuyan, sitting next to her.

“Lin Chuyan, my hubby, Lin Chuyan, my hubby! Hahahahaha…...Lin Chuyan, my hubby, Lin Chuyan, my hubby! Hahahahaha……” echoed in her ear.

Xiang Nuan pulled off the earbud and threw it aside.

Lin Chuyan took his time to recover the earbud and looked at her with a smile.

Xiang Nuan took a deep breath and kept telling herself to calm down, calm down: This is the study room, she can't hit him…...Hitting someone is against the law……

After a few deep breaths, she stared at him and lowered her voice: “How many times do you plan to play this old trick?”

Lin Chuyan moved his body closer and put one of his arms on the back of her chair. He tilted his head, squinted, and said to her in an even lower voice: “I'm going to play it-- --my whole life.”

Xiang Nuan noticed that he was saying it through clenched teeth.

She remembered and took a good look at his face. She noticed that his face had already been washed clean. The tips of his hair were still a little wet. He had obviously just washed his face not too long ago.

No wonder he was this mad.

Xiang Nuan felt a bit guilty. She looked up at the ceiling, then silently moved closer to Shen Zemu's side.

Shen Zemu had given up studying and watched them in amus.e.m.e.nt.

As Xiang Nuan was moving closer to Shen Zemu, Lin Chuyan hooked his finger towards her and mouthed silently: Come over.

Xiang Nuan wouldn't move.

Lin Chuyan lifted the white earbuds in his hand with a smile: Come over.

Xiang Nuan moved back, rolling her eyes.

“What do you want?” She whispered.

“Let me paint your face in return.” Lin Chuyan took out a highlighter from her pencil bag, got up, and ordered her: “Come out.”

Xiang Nuan dejectedly, like a defeated little hawk, followed him out of the cla.s.sroom.

Lin Chuyan brought Xiang Nuan to the elevator lobby and had her stand against the wall. She stood there like a schoolgirl getting a timeout. She leaned against the wall, earnest and behaved. She tried her best to show her willingness to accept her punishment and hoped her eagerness would lessen Lin Chuyan's anger.

“Look up.” Lin Chuyan said, his voice echoed in the s.p.a.cious and empty elevator lobby.

Xiang Nuan looked up. Lin Chuyan was against the light in the elevator lobby and she couldn't clearly see the expression on his face.

However, her every move was in the full view of Lin Chuyan.

Now under the white light, her white skin seemed even more pale and fragile. Her bright and dark pupils stared right back at his.

The way she was looking at him was quite straightforward and frank, without any other thoughts. However, in Lin Chuyan's eyes, he seemed able to read a lot out of her eyes.

Lin Chuyan's heartbeat quickened a bit.

Xiang Nuan closed her eyes and gritted her teeth as if she was prepared to die: “I'm ready.”

Lin Chuyan use one hand to hold her face, with the palm supporting her chin, and pressed his thumb next to her lips: “Don't move.”

His palm was quite warm. When it touched Xiang Nuan's skin, the sensation was scalding.

Realizing that the position they were in could easily be mistaken for a kiss, she began rus.h.i.+ng him, her voice trembling slightly.  “Hurry up.”

With her eyes closed, she wasn't able to see that Lin Chuyan's hand with the highlighter was actually hanging down by his side the whole time.

All he was doing was just holding her face, looking at her, mesmerized.

After looking for a while, he slowly lowered his head as if enchanted.

Lin Chuyan felt as if his heart was going to jump out of his chest. Each beat of the heart was like the beat of a drum, lively and maddening.

Right at this moment, they heard a chilling voice: “What are you two doing?”
