Like I said in the last post, I’ve discovered the existence of aggregators. Thus, I want to play around with them a bit. If the aggregators are people, then what I’m going to do will be useless. But if they’re bots…let’s see *smiles evilly*
So, as usual, I’ll be including a link to the “chapter” after this ramble of mine, but that will lead to a terribly translated page with occasional edits . To read the actual chappy, just keep scrolling down. It’s on this page itself.
Excerpt from last part:
Before leaving, Leonid took the initiative to reach out for a handshake. In that moment of skin contact, Ren Zhouyuan's heart unconsciously started beating faster. It was worthy noting that afterwards, Leonid casually drew back his right hand and put it behind him like nothing happened. He shook his heart and smiled wryly in his heart.
Part 2 Recovering his lost job and finding out that he no longer had to hide from the person he hid from for so many years, although he still felt a bit bitter in his heart, Ren Zhouyuan was happy. He didn't want to delay even for a second and went to the kindergarten early to pick up An-An. He wanted to take him out to a restaurant to celebrate. An-An saw his Dad come in advance to pick him up. He was so happy he was almost jumping as he walked. The troubles from the past few days were immediately left behind, reconciling with Ren Zhouyuan instantly. Ren Zhouyuan thought for a moment and called Fan Wenfeng. Sure enough, when he told him the good news, he was even happier than he was. He made him feel once more that this decision of his was very much correct. They cheerfully celebrated. When they were back at home, Ren Zhouyuan urged An-An to take a bath. But since An-An and him had been mad at each other for several days, he was sticky the whole night*. Ren Zhouyuan finally had no choice but to accompany him to wash.
*和爸爸生气了好几天的安安一整晚都粘得不行
The two people were sitting in the bathtub. An-An was nested in Ren Zhouyuan's chest, silently playing with the water. After a while, he suddenly looked up and asked: "Dad, why did we go out for dinner today?" "We're celebrating Dad finding a job, didn't Dad say so?" Ren Zhouyuan pursed his lips at An's nose, thinking that his son's red nose looked particularly cute. "But didn't Dad already find a job before?" An-An's logic was very clear. Ren Zhouyuan was suddenly asked this question. He was solely preoccupied with celebrating, not thinking about this issue, and An didn't ask him the whole night. But unexpectedly, when they were alone, he brought it up. He thought for a moment, then lied shamelessly. "But before, Uncle Wenfeng didn't have time. He only had time tonight. Uncle Wenfeng found this job for Dad, so Dad could only wait until now to go out to eat together with him" "Dad," An-An suddenly shouted, afterwards he lowered his head, not knowing what sentence the he muttered*.*然后低着头不知道嘀咕了一句什么
"En?" Ren Zhouyuan leaned in a little closer. "What did An-An say? Dad couldn't hear it." An-An abruptly hugged Ren Zhouyuan's neck, acting like a sad spoiled child: "Uncle Wenfeng…..is Uncle Wenfeng going to be my new father?"*T/N: (*〇□〇)……!
"Ah?" Ren Zhouyuan froze instantly. An-An's sentence had a lot of information. He never thought of this problem before, causing his head to momentarily spin. The first thing he thought of was: Why is Uncle Wenfeng the Father? He never told An-An that he gave birth to him himself. Whether it was "wife" or "husband," from the moment An-An was born, he never instilled these ideas into him. Or rather, he deliberately made these ideas vague. Though he had some disagreements with the archaeological team, An-An was still small at the time. He felt that he shouldn't have exposed himself too. So when An-An asked whether or not Fan Wenfeng would be his "Father," he felt that An-An's brain had a small hole in it. However, this wasn't the most important thing. After all, he really counted as half a "Mother." But now the question was, why Fan Wenfeng? "Why does An-An think so? Uncle Wenfeng is just Dad's good friend." An-An twisted his body, still holding on tightly to his neck. He buried his face into Ren Zhouyuan's neck so that he couldn't see his expression. "Dad, you cheat! Uncle Wenfeng obviously likes you! I know!" Ren Zhouyuan felt a little helpless. The like that the child said, just what level of like was it in the end. Afterwards, he quickly found out the extent of it. "This whole night, he kept serving food to you! He also scooped up some soup for you to drink! He was smiling at you like you were a couple*. In addition, he took hold of all the meat pressed for you to eat!*"*他一直对着你笑 – It should be correct to only say "He was smiling at you," but the character (对) is a cla.s.sifier for a couple, so I restructured the sentence a bit to reflect this.

"An-An," he said while prying open the arms holding his neck and tilting his face with his mouth turned to the side. He said to him sincerely: "Dad and Uncle Wenfeng are good friends. Before, when our life was at its bitter moments, Uncle Wenfeng helped Dad out quite a lot. My relations.h.i.+p with him is just like, like……" He couldn't find an example for the moment, and had to ask An-An: "Since An-An is in kindergarten, which child has the best relations.h.i.+p with you?" "An-An didn't make friends with them." He replied arrogantly. Ren Zhouyuan's forehead broke out into a sweat from his answer. He felt that his education was really quite problematic. He first set aside An-An's issue of not wanting to make friends, and prioritized resolving the misunderstanding about Fan Wenfeng. "Uncle Fan Wenfeng is like Dad's big brother. He helped Dad take some food and scoop soup because Dad was too busy taking care of you. He was afraid that when An-An finished eating, Dad would have no food to eat." "Then," An-An seemed to have little faith in his words, "Then why did he keep smiling at you? Doesn't An-An look good? Why didn't he look at An-An and keet looking only at you instead?" All these 'whys' followed by more 'whys,' Ren Zhouyuan didn't know whether to laugh or to cry. "Uncle Wenfeng was just happy for Dad. Uncle Wenfeng helped Dad look for work. He doesn't like An-An, the little bad egg who isn't happy even though Dad found a job, still so difficult." Sure enough, after saying this, An-An pouted and didn't speak. He secretly glanced at Ren Zhouyuan. After a while, he reached out and hugged him, snuggling in his embrace while whispering: "An-An is happy for Dad." At this moment, Ren Zhouyuan finally relaxed. This little rascal, he really didn't know what he kept going on in his head.TL Note: An-An knows that his Dad likes men, and he’s even asking if Wenfeng will be his new “father.” lol, what a cute kid
Anyways, I just wanna point something out how Ren Zhouyuan talks to An. If I were to put in the pinyin for the t.i.tles of “dad,” “uncle,” and everything, it’ll end up sounding quite childish, like how one would actually speak to a kid. Like this:
“Wenfeng-shūshu (uncle) is like Bàba‘s (Dad’s) Gēge (Big Brother)…”
I’m not sure if the English TL reflects that though…But I’m still going to keep ‘uncle’ and ‘dad’ in English for the sake of fewer notes.
Also…on the subject of notes, I’ll probably be putting them at the end of each chapter now for readability.
Thanks for reading, and make sure to correct typos and errors. This was originally posted on Corensi’s Corner, so don’t be a leech on an aggregator!
