“Brother Ting, you’re quite vigorous, and you too, ma’am, hahaha…”

He laughed awkwardly. The atmosphere was simply too weird that he had to cough up a joke to mellow things out.

Huo Yunting could not stand it anymore. He abruptly stood up and dragged the man away by the collar.

“Oh-oh-oh, boss, I am walking myself! Brother Ting, I have my own legs! Ahh—”

After a devastating scream, Huo Li was mercilessly kicked out of the house.

He rubbed his aching b.u.m and cursed at the tightly shut door to the house.

M*therf*ker! Dumping me in the streets when you’re done using me, and you didn’t even pay for my services! You heartless man!

Inside the house, Lu Zhaoyang saw Huo Yunting returning with the striking bandage on his forehead.

He usually acted in a carefree manner, but now his face was uncharacteristically emotionless.

She walked toward him and blocked his way. “I’m sorry, it wasn’t intentional!”

Her meager strength should not have overcome him so easily. The truth was, he was simply surprised by her in the shower to have gotten hurt!

Huo Yunting walked around her and ignored her attempt to reconcile.

His mouth curled up imperceptibly into a cold smile, and that pained her.

This was her fault!

As Huo Yunting slowly made his way upstairs, Lu Zhaoyang stood in a daze for awhile before following him up the stairs. However, instead of the bedroom, she went to the guest room.

Huo Yunting must not wish to see her for now. Since tomorrow was a weekend, he would be able to rest at home.

Lu Zhaoyang did not sleep well throughout the night. The next morning, she woke up and enjoyed her time laying in bed when she suddenly remembered about Huo Yunting’s wound on his head. That completely woke her up, so she quickly got dressed and went out.

When she peeked into the bedroom, Huo Yunting was nowhere to be found.

She went downstairs to look for him. There in the backyard, under a huge umbrella, the man was resting on a rocking chair.

There was a gla.s.s of fresh lemonade on the table beside him. He was watching a movie on his iPad.

She quietly approached him and studied his wound. “You’re up early.”

From the progress of the movie, it seemed that he had been awake for some time now.

“You’re the one up late, so don’t start blaming me!”

Huo Yunting swiped across the tablet screen, and the volume significantly turned up.

She had offered an apology, but he refused to accept it and even jeered at her. She must be an idiot to be worried about him!

He did not seem to be affected by the wound. Really, there was no need to be concerned!

Even so, Lu Zhaoyang always found it easier to keep these gentler emotions to herself.

“Are you coming in for breakfast, or should I bring it out to you?” She did not try to speak louder than usual, but he should hear her just fine.

Huo Yunting took a side glance at the table beside him. “Bring it out.”

She went inside and brought out his breakfast. All the while, she tried to convince herself that she was responsible for his injury, and therefore she owed him.

It made it easier for her to serve him like this.

“Hold it here for me.”

Huo Yunting’s iPad was showing an intense battle scene. There were explosions and whatnot that threatened to burst out of the screen.

She held the iPad in front of him, so that the screen was in his line of sight while he enjoyed his food.

Having breakfast over a movie—this man sure knew how to indulge!
