All the newspapers had reported about the Terrorist incident. They all praised Ronnie for his bravery. The article also mentioned how Ronnie was hurt during the attack and was currently hospitalised.
Virat wasn't much bothered about Ronnie. But then he was only worried for his Maya.
So, he immediately called on Ronnie's landline. He got to know from the butler that Ronnie was still at the hospital. His Maya had just come back home from the hospital and left to the company.
So Virat immediately came over to the company. To his delight, he saw his ever-beautiful Maya getting off the car and heading inside.
He called out, "Maya!" He immediately realised that she wasn't his Maya anymore but "Mrs Jayne Roy!" Thankfully he wasn't that loud. Next he called out loud, "Mrs Jayne Roy?"
Jayne suddenly felt that the voice was too familiar. Intrigued, she stopped in her tracks and turned around. Slowly, the corners of her mouth curved upward almost touching her eyes revealing her perfectly aligned teeth.
"h.e.l.lo Mr Virat Mishra!" she waved at him and began walking toward him.
Virat's heart skipped a beat. He stood rooted to his spot.
Each step Maya took closer to him, Virat's heart began racing faster and faster… He almost thought that his heart would leap out of his mouth.
Her mesmerising smile was like spring which unfolded joy in him like a flower and whisked away all his earlier fear and pain of losing her. He could feel his heart singing again sending waves of hope and happiness all through him flaring up his eyes, for the first time since he had lost her.
This was also the first ever time he'd seen his Maya so close since when he had lost her. Moreover, even Ronnie wasn't present. He could suddenly felt that it wasn't Mrs Jayne Roy or whosoever but his Maya walking towards him. He thought even if the world ended at this moment, nothing would happen to him as long as he was drowned in her eyes.
"Mr Virat Mishra?" Jayne called out on seeing Virat's emotionless face. Little did she know the myriad of emotions he underwent just on seeing her walk towards him with a smile.
Virat was so lost that he didn't respond.
Jayne frowned at Virat's expressionless face and motionless figure. She tapped on his shoulder, "Virat??"
The way she had called him Virat was exactly the same way she would when they were together. Virat immediately snapped back.
"M-M…" He stuttered but couldn't complete.
Jayne folded her arms and asked him, "Virat are you alright? Shall I take you to our Company Clinic?"
Virat seemed to have gained his senses finally. He shook his head and asked, "I heard- I heard- Ronnie…"
Jayne's face fell upon hearing her husband's name. She drew in a long breath and told him, "Thank you so much for your concern Virat. He's doing better now. We've got over the critical phase. He's under medication now…"
Somehow the way Jayne spoke reminded him that Ronnie and she were an ent.i.ty and he was an outsider.
Nevertheless he didn't want to miss the chance of admiring her mesmerising eyes in which he could get lost forever… her lips which kept curving into smiles that made the world around him stop… his most favourite, her nose ring with which he had fallen in love at first sight.
Jayne then said, "Mr Virat Mishr"
Virat interrupted her, "Call me Virat… just that." He smiled.
Jayne let out a small laughter, "Okay Virat.. Let's talk in my office. Come over if you're free!"
Virat didn't know how on earth was he this lucky today. He readily agreed, "Sure!"
Jayne went ahead while Virat followed. He felt so happy that he pumped his fist in the air unknown to Jayne and trailed behind her like nothing happened.
He got reminded of the first ever time he'd asked her out after they began dating. He had felt exactly the same.. too nervous to even ask her. But when she's agreed he'd done the same….
Maya was a simple girl. She never fancied high-end restaurant dates. Even an ice cream with Virat along the beach looking at the serene seas would make her happy. Even Virat loved it since it was very easy on his pocket as well…
Unknown to Virat, he had fallen for Maya.. what he thought was l.u.s.t slowly began turning towards love. But he had never once given it a serious thought until he lost her recently…
That's when he realised that, what began playfully as l.u.s.t slowly headed towards love…..
