"Now Charoite, let's teach these b.a.s.t.a.r.ds a lesson!" Ariana yelled. Suddenly 60 Ariana shadow clones appeared. 'At your command!' They shouted in unison. "Disable the robe people and drag them down into the realm of shadows!" Ariana ordered. A few robed people who had broken through some of Leigh's and Gregory's defenses stopped in their tracks. They quickly turned to whom Ariana a.s.sumed was their leader. "For the glory of Lord Romanoff!" A robed man shouted as he struck Leigh's abdomen with a wind drill.

Ariana felt her heart stop. She saw poker face Leigh, fly backwards. Her back arched as her low pigtails came on done. Her periwinkle blue hair fanned out as the light in her eyes started to fade. Flash backs of Leigh appeared before Ariana's eyes. Leigh blus.h.i.+ng as her facial expressions never changed. Taking bubble baths with Leigh. Trying to teach Leigh how to bake but getting covered in flour instead. Leigh holding baby Sterling and letting her guard down just enough to let a small smile appear on her face. A stiff dancing Leigh, a poorly dressed gardening Leigh, food testing Leigh and Leigh sleeping with her eyes open when she should have been working.
Tears started to spill from Ariana's eyes as she watched Leigh's body hit the ground with a ma.s.sive, muddy thud. She slid across the field, unmoving, clothes practically hanging on by a thread. "Leigh, Leigh, Leigh, LEIGH!" She screamed. The Ariana shadow clones started to bubble and contort. They were losing their shape when suddenly Ariana heard another scream. "Roland!" Tillie screamed as if her life had ended. Another scream and another then she saw Gregory cut down. "NO!" Ariana screamed as she brought her hands to either side of her head. "No!" Ariana screamed again. 'Ariana!' Aroha yelled but it was too late.
Ariana's shadow clones started shedding their bodies, as layers pulled back as horrid creatures emerged. They had long, ma.s.sive bodies. Giant clawed paws, a ridiculously thin waist that looked like it was only composed of its spine that lead to exaggerated hind legs. It had a lynx face and ears but was completely black. It had eight eyes and moth wings hung from its snout. The end of its tail split in half, on end had a sharp tip while the other looked a little swollen but it had a curved point.
Ariana dropped her hands, her body was listless. She slowly raised her head, her eyes became void, completely drained of life and logic. "Die." She said with a single breath. The monsters scattered as the hunted down every member of the church on the estate. 'Ariana this is not what you had planned!' Aroha yelled.
"Make them suffer." Ariana ordered, ignoring Aroha's presence. Ariana watched as her creatures ripped apart the members of the church. Regardless of how hard they fought, regardless of what magical attack they used, it was completely useless. The creature opened their mouth and a toxic fume escaped. Some people started to scream as they brought their hands to their throats. They scratched relentlessly, tearing through the robes then skin, veins and muscles before they dropped to the ground, blood spilling everywhere. 'Vasu, she will slip into the darkness and permanently stay there if this goes on!' Aroha shouted. 'They're still alive.' Vasu said as he started rubbing his snout against Ariana's cheek.
'What do you mean they're alive? The members of the church or Ariana's family?' Aroha asked. 'Both... Barely, well some.' Vasu said as he removed his nuzzle and turned to Aroha. 'Save them! She asked you to save her soul! If we do nothing then her destiny will be set! I do not want to see another ma.s.sacre in my lifetime! Save them all now!' Aroha ordered. 'No.' Vasu answered before he started to graze on some gra.s.s. "Dancing to and fro, watching the stars s.h.i.+ne bright. Hush my little one, you'll be fine under their light." Ariana said as a creepy smile appeared on her face. She looked out onto the field then raised her head and looked up at the sky. A dark laugh escaped her lips.
'Vasu! Why are you not saving her?! You said you were going to support her?! Vasu, you can't just watch idly as she slips into madness!' Aroha shouted. Vasu just lifted his gaze and gave Aroha a bored expression. 'Vasu! You are infuriating! Can you not be straightforward for once in your life? What do you want?! Just tell me what you want?! Tell me what to do! I can't see another blood bath.' Aroha cried. 'Swear your allegiance to Ariana.' Vasu said before returning his head back to the ground. 'No! She failed the test! I will never do such a thing!' Aroha said as her chibi body trembled. 'Too bad.' Vasu said before he started to eat. 'Vasu!' Aroha yelled. 'Too bad... I think she can't tell apart friend from foe now.' Vasu said as he lifted his gaze and watched the creatures. Aroha turned to look and saw that the animals were now stalking up to them.
'No.' Aroha said as she turned to the Nahia house. Ariana started to walk forward. 'Ariana?' Aroha called out. Ariana kept walking until she reached the first semi corpse. Ariana gingerly picked up the person's face. "Hush my baby do not take fright for tonight you are in my arms, snuggled in so tight." Ariana sang as the creatures moved closer. 'Have you made your decision?' Vasu asked. Aroha glared at Vasu. 'There are more then the ones infront of us.' Vasu said nonchalantly.
Suddenly they could hear Duko howling in pain. 'Fine! I will swear my allegiance with her! No matter what happens, I will not abandon her!' Aroha shouted as blue light swirled around her. She started to s.h.i.+ft out of her chibi form and changed in to her phoenix self. Vasu nodded his head before he stood tall. A soft neon pink light was emitting from his body. He jumped up into the air and with a heavy thud he landed back onto the ground. A rainbow coloured light pulsed outwards. Small foliage started to to sprout around the area he landed. He jumped even higher. Landing even harder, a bigger rainbow pulse went outwards.
The bodies around Ariana started to heal. 'You are utterly ridiculous!' Aroha shouted as she started to circle around Vasu. The moment he jumped up Aroha swooped underneath him. She then carried Vasu higher into the air. 'Thanks.' Vasu said before he jumped off of Aroha's back. Vasu was falling down fast. Ariana had felt a warmth sensation enter her body. She slowly started to wake from the abyss she had slipped into. When her vision started to focus, she realized she was cradling the face of a member of the church. His body was slowing healing from the an attack. His arm was completely torn off, Ariana screamed in fright. She dropped the man and looked around.
She spotted a neon pink light falling from the sky. 'VASU!' She shouted as he plummeted downwards. 'NO!' She yelled but she was too late. Vasu collided into the ground. A wave of flowers and foliage erupted upwards while a rainbow pulse shot outwards. The amount of magic was so strong that it knocked Ariana backwards. Andesine stopped running to watching the show. The pulse was so strong that it moved past the field, past the Nahia home, past the trees and kept traveling until it reached the edge of the cl.u.s.ters of small lights. Andesine a.s.sumed it was two towns close by.
Ariana opened her eyes. Flower petals and leaves started raining from up above while the area was still completely illuminated from Andesine's firey whirlpool. Ariana slowly got up and saw the ma.s.sacre, she looked over and saw the shadow creatures she created. She brought her hands up and covered her mouth in shock. "Charoite?" She said with a deep breath. "Don't worry I can help you reel them in.' Loralei said. Bright purple light started to streak through the area and a giant mermaid appeared. She started to sing so beautifully that the creatures started to walk towards her. The closer they got the smaller they became. Soon enough each one looked like a panther cub and they were piling underneath Loralei.
"Ariana?" A familiar voice called out. Ariana spun around and saw Leigh slowly walk towards her. "Leigh!" Ariana cried. Ariana couldn't hold herself back and jumped over unconscious bodies to get to Leigh. She then threw herself at the young woman and openly cried her heart out. "Leigh! I thought I lost you." Ariana cried. Leigh sighed as she patted Ariana's head. They heard some rustling, Leigh quickly armed herself with her ice bow. She aimed her arrows to the left of them. Ariana looked up and felt another wave of tears spill out as Leigh dissolved her weapon. "Roland! Tillie!" Ariana cried as she rushed over. "I'm so sorry!" She cried as she got closer. Roland stabbed his giant claymore into the earth and stretched out his arms.
Ariana jumped in. Tillie wrapped her arms around her husband and Ariana. "James is alright too. He is just rounding up the attackers." Tillie muttered as she tightened her embrace. "Okay, enough of the sentimentals. You should really send these b.a.s.t.a.r.ds to the other side and have them repent." Roland said as he patted Ariana's back. "No, I don't think so. I slipped into the darkness for a moment... it's not what I thought. I think going back disabled will teach them enough especially...." Ariana said as she pulled back from their joint embrace.
"That's great to hear." James said as he dropped a pile of bodies close by. "James!" Ariana shouted happily. "Good too see your fine young Miss." James replied. 'Ariana what do you want to do with these little ones?' Loralei shouted. Ariana looked over. "Sorry Loralei, I don't know yet. Any suggestions?" Ariana asked. 'I will think of something.' Loralei answered.
"Theo?!" Someone yelled. Ariana turned to the Nahia house. "Theo?!" Another voice shouted. "Theo?! Theo?! Theo?!" Other voices started to shout as people started to spill out. 'Miss Ariana? Can I go back and rest?' Andesine asked as she descended. "Sorry Andesine. Please rest up." Ariana said. Andesine started to dissolve along with the fire whirlpool. "Where is our Theo?!" An older female asked loudly as she rushed forward with an entire army behind her. "What have you done to him?!" The woman asked with a hysterical tone.
"I'm so sorry for causing such a disturbance. My name is Ariana Drake and your family was actually about to be a.s.sa.s.sinated by these people." Ariana said calmly as she gave the Nahia family a deep bow. "So, what are family familiar said was the truth?" An older male asked. "Unfortunately yes. However I have no idea if Theo actually showed up." Ariana said as she raised her head. "We can interrogate them and see if he was part of the attack." Gregory said as he walked up to the group.
"We don't need to interrogate, we can just ask." Ariana said while Leigh was already poking at bodies to see if anyone was conscious. "If you hadn't confirmed whether or not Theo is alive.... You killed him! You maimed him, made him a G*d d.a.m.n disable!" The older woman yelled. "Ariana this one is awake." Leigh said in a flat tone. Ariana turned around. "You b*tch! Don't you dare turn your back to me!" The older woman yelled. "Mom let's find out if Theo is here first. I honestly don't think he was part of something... like this. I mean he is apprenticing with the priestess. There must have been some huge misunderstanding." A baritone voice said.
"Then it was pure defamation against my baby boy?! Who will pay for such slander? If the priestess hears about this will she kick Theo out? Will the church demand a grand donation to cover the costs for all these ruined lives?" Mrs. Nahia yelled. "Do you even want your son a.s.sociated with people who wanted your whole family annihilated?" Gregory asked the Nahias. "Can you prove they were after our lives?" Another male asked. "Can you really say that after what you just saw?" Gregory asked them in return. "What about those beast? They were coming towards the house. So how do we know you were actually here to save us? How can you prove this isn't some elaborate plan to get us to trust you or worse to have the priestess hate our family?" The male continued.
"Ask this thing if this was our plan." Leigh said as she tossed the body forward. Gregory grabbed the robed person and pulled down his hood. The members of the Nahia family who ran out with lanterns pa.s.sed the lights forward so that everyone could see the person's face. "No it can't be!" Mrs. Nahia screamed. The older male wrapped his arm around Mrs. Nahia. "Theo, why are you here?!" The older man asked as he supported Mrs. Nahia. "Darling, darling, it's Theo. He came, he finally came to see us." Mrs. Nahia said with a strained, happy voice. "But Theo darling... you look different. What happened Theo? Let mommy take care of you." Mrs. Nahia said.
Theo looked up at his mother with absolute disgust. His pale yellow eyes, dark skin tone, and purple silver hair matched his mother's. At one glance anyone could tell they were related. The only problem was he was now missing both arms and a leg. Vasu had brought them back from near death but he refused to regenerate all of their limbs. Most were only missing only one limb or part of it but it looked like Vasu purposely let Theo to suffer. Unfortunately Mrs. Nahia's brain couldn't register the change in her son.
"How dare you do this to me! You are stopping the will of the priestess! This family has to be obliterated. They are conspiring against her holiness, against the church and need to be made into examples." Theo spat. "Theo what are you talking about? Theo help mommy understand what you're talking about? We have never stood against the priestess, so why would she want us killed?" Mrs. Nahia said as her knees started to buckle. "Her holiness has proclaimed your foul deeds." Theo hissed.
"Liar." Ariana said loudly. "How dare you doubt the priestess?! Her holiness is always full of righteousness! Her words are never wrong! She has ordered for the blood of the Nahia family and I must comply to her holiness!" Theo shouted. Ariana quickly moved in between Theo and the Nahias. She raised her hand high then slapped Theo with all the strength she could muster. Theo was instantly silenced as his face turned slightly. He spat out blood before bringing his disdainful glare to Ariana.
"What would have happened if you find out the truth after everything? What if you find out that the church was lying about the priestess? How would you ever live with yourself if you killed your beloved family for a lie? You should be counting your blessings that your sister told me what was happening. If not, your fate would have been very different." Ariana said darkly. "So Halina was the traitor... She caused the mission the priestess gave us to fail?! Just so she could save the lives of the d.a.m.ned!" Theo said as his eyes widened with rage.
"ENOUGH!" Ariana shouted. She could feel her body temperature starting to rise. "You are blindly following the words of the church without confirming anything! Did she tell you this mission personally? Did she stand before you and bless you for a successful mission?! Enough of this bull sh*t!" Ariana kept shouting. "Everyone step back now!" Gregory shouted as Ariana's entire body started to glow an off white colour. "How dare you question her holiness!" Theo spat just as everyone instinctively obeyed Gregory and took a few steps back.
"You know nothing! The church is a cesspool of liars and cheats that only want to live with power and wealth. They only believe in the betterment of themselves and nothing else! I refuse to let my mother's name to be used any longer for their gain!" Ariana screamed as her appearance changed. 'Ariana what are you doing?!' Aroha yelled as the other Lumas huddled together. "What this can't be..." Theo said as he watched transparent pink, petal like wings extend from Ariana's back. Her clothing change into a beautiful white, backless gown. A gentle wind surrounded her, lifting her hair so it moved like a black see while a gentle rainbow colour light outlined her body.
"This must be a trick! This has to be a trick! Their is only one jewel eyed priestess! You are courting death if you think you can impersonate the priestess!" Theo shouted as everyone else gasped. Roland and Tillie quickly dropped to their knees and bowed their heads. James cover Leigh with his butler's jacket while Leigh stood frozen to her spot. Gregory seemed to be completely unfazed and just quietly watched the show. "Your right." Ariana said in an ethereal voice. Vasu walked up to Ariana, like a moth to a flame and stood beside her. "I am no priestess but I can tell you my mother died after giving birth to me." Ariana replied. She raised her hand and a warm white light spread out. The members of the church slowly started waking.
When they caught sight of Ariana they gasped and whispered their confusion. "You're her daughter? That can't be.... She is pure, untouched by man, there could be no way..." Theo whispered. "Do I look nothing like my mother?" Ariana asked. Soon other members of the church pulled their goods down and started kneeling to Ariana. Theo gulped as he watched the scene. "If she's dead... if you have not told a single lie then who wanted my family?... Who wanted my family gone? What would I have done after finding out the truth?!" Theo muttered. Ariana looked at Theo pitifully then turned to his family. "Mr. and Mrs. Nahia. I have put your family in great danger because of my own selfishness. Please allow me to make this up to you." Ariana said as she properly looked at the family.
The entire family had a strong resemblance to Mrs. Nahia. Dark skin, purple silvery hair, great body structure, practically Amazonian while the father was slightly lighter. He had a small frame but was well toned. Bright indigo coloured eyes and navy blue hair. They all looked so youthful even though they just went through a traumatic experience, one that would have aged someone drastically. "We would never dare to ask you for anything." Mr. Nahia said as the rest of the family murmured their agreement and disbelief. "Are you sure? Is there nothing you want to compensate your grievances?" Ariana asked as she slightly turned her body to reveal Theo.
"Please save my baby boy!" Mrs. Nahia cried. "Milka! Theo brought this upon himself how can you be so shameless?" Mr. Nahia scolded. "Theo is still young Kal! He has no wife, no children, who will take care of my baby when we are gone?! Who will want to marry such a disable? Who will allow him to work? I don't want to see him suffer anymore then this." Mrs. Nahia cried. "Mom, we can't." The baritone male said as he placed his giant hand on his mother's shoulder. "Malachi, he's your younger brother." Mrs. Nahia sniffed. "Theo Nahia. You are blessed with such a loving family. Please be more loyal to them when the time comes." Ariana said as she turned to Theo.
"No wait!" Malachi shouted but Ariana ignored him. She raised her arms and inhaled gently as she closed her eyes. She then opened her eyes as she exhaled while Vasu stomped the ground with his hoof. A rainbow coloured light stretched out from the both of them. Soon their light intermingled and slowly wrapped around Theo. Everyone gasped as they watched the lights turn into string. The string slowly attached themselves to Theo's stumps. They started graphing and building new limbs. Everyone's eyes were glued until a flash of light burst before them. Theo was now standing before everyone with his reconstructed body. "Unbelievable..." Theo whispered as he clutched his hands. "Truly unbelievable."
