On the way down to the throne room, I reminded them that humans aren't particularly welcomed here. It'll do them a power of no good to find out the hard way.
There are too many stairs here and I'm running out of things to say.
Finally, upon reaching the place in which Shalltear is to be revived, I notice that I'm the last one to arrive.
Dabilosi: My sincerest apologies, I seem to be the last one to arrive... I was to arrive earlier, yet I was waylaid by inconveniences beyond expectation.
As I say this I glance briefly to the left of me where Zess.h.i.+ and Clementine are standing. s.h.i.+zu is on my right.
Momonga: It is well. The wait was insignificant. But enough talk, let us begin.
Dabilosi: Protect him guardians, if she does attack me I will be more than happy to test her. Although, it should not come to that.
Demiurge: In that case, as you wish Lord Dabilosi.
Momonga nodded, raised his head, and directed the staff towards the centre of the mountains upon mountains of gold, 500 million coins to be exact, which melted and bega flowing into a single puddle in the centre of the room. This puddle slowly began taking a familiar shape, and eventually developed into a stark naked Shalltear.
Momonga: Albedo!
Albedo: Please be at ease Lord Ainz, the mind control appears to have been lifted.
Dabilosi: And for that we must be thankful.
But since I was the imbecile responsible for this mess, I'm the one to talk with Shalltear when she wakes up. Walking over and standing next to her, still naked, I once again confirm that she is the best looking NPC in Nazarick. Absolutely flawless. Thus I am not ashamed that my little brother would be threatening to burst out if not for high durability clothing. No-one can see it so it's even more fine. On goes the satin robe, and open flicker her eyes.
(A.N: You know, I could have said something else there.)
Shalltear: Lord Dabilosi...
Really awkward, but I lean down and slide my hand through her hair before resting it carefully just beneath her ear, with the palm on her cheek and cupped slightly at the top of her neck.
Dabilosi: I am... Truly, sorry. None of this would have happened were it not for my incompetence.
Shalltear: I... I don't, understand, but Lord Dabilosi, you couldn't have made a mistake, you're a supreme being.
Saying that she reaches out as if to grab hold of me. She still seems a bit fragile so I oblige and prop her up. Immediately this is proven to be the wrong decision as she takes advantage of the situation and sends her arms slowly roaming over my back. At that point it's barely fine, but then she follows up with-
Shalltear: Ah, take my first time from me!
Time and place people! Time and place!
Albedo: I believe Shalltear is tired Lord Dabilosi, should we leave her be for now?
Even if she did cross the line there's no need to be rude.
Dabilosi: That is dependant on how she feels about her situation. There may be side effects to the resurrection process, and as such we should avoid causing her mental instability. Help her change into decent clothes, after that I will discuss the current state of affairs with her. Ah, that is of course as long as nothing of immediate concern has happened to your body Shalltear.
She had to let go of me to check herself, and I used this chance to stand up.
Shalltear: No, I don't believe- Lord Dabilosi!
Eh? I wasn't expecting her to actually come up with anything. Now I'm a bit worried.
Shalltear: My chest is gone!
....
Momonga: .....
Cocytus: .....
Albedo: .....
Demiurge: Tsk.....
Albedo: Don't you know what you did? Then you still say something like that?
It's not loud, but her voice is laced with disgust. It's one thing to think something, but another altogether speaking it.
Dabilosi: Albedo. If she could remember her actions, she would not be like this. Do not be too harsh on her, at least until she understands the severity of her crimes. I will be waiting in the staff canteen.
Albedo: Lord Ainz, please punish Shalltear severely.
(A.N: Ok this has been bugging me for a while now, should I just use sama instead of Lord?)
Did she really just do that?
Demiurge: With all due respect Lord Dabilosi, she does require punishment for her actions.
Aura: Yeh, give her a good scolding!
Mare: Not too much though...
Momonga: Ha, hahaha!
Oh dear lord, he's lost it.
Momonga: Dabilosi, don't you think Demiurge should be in charge of explaining everything to Shalltear? Don't mind my little outburst, I merely thought in pa.s.sing that this is similar to... Ah, you know. It was refres.h.i.+ng.
Ah, arguments in the guild. Generally over loot or raid strategies, always forgotten quickly enough.
Dabilosi: Mm, yes. Do you have anything else you are currently working on Demiurge?
Demiurge: ...No, only that.
Still have no idea what 'that' is, but sure.
Dabilosi: You could handle it then?
Demiurge: I could my lord.
Dabilosi: Let it be done. For the record, the one who caused this, along with three who were involved, are dead.
Aura: If it isn't a problem Lord Dabilosi, why do you have two humans with you?
Dabilosi: Momonga killed this one (points with thumb at clementine), and she wanted power, she was useful in getting the other one, a key player in the Slane Theocracy. If that is all, I'm going to retire to my chambers. If not, fire away with any questions you might have.
Mare: Uhm, there is one thing I'd like to ask... Why didn't you stay in Re-Estize? I hope I'm not being rude...
Dabilosi: Not at all! I merely thought Ainz' approach would, if Demiurge is indeed acting as I believe, be more effective, and withdrew for more useful deployment elsewhere. Now that I have the theocracy's ace under my thumb I can move on towards the Dragonic kingdom. However, there are a few more things I need to do first. Does that answer your question?
I can figure a few things out, but being vague is my best bet, in case I'm completely wrong.
Mare: I, think so.
Dabilosi: Anyone else?
Momonga: Your thoughts on an undead army?
Dabilosi: There are numerous groups of Lizardmen, Serpent-folk and even a few hydras in the swamplands if you want to try getting higher tier undead. I'll be taking 'Peaceable' Forneus of the Lemegeton on my next trip along with s.h.i.+zu. Clementine will be staying here and serving under Aura. Aura, I think you'll be able to handle Clementine's... Personality... Best and it will get you slightly more used to interactions with humans, even if she isn't remotely close to being an average specimen.
Take three I guess.
Dabilosi: Is that all?
Demiurge: Ah, if I may Lord Dabilosi, is it at all possible to lend me command of Dantalion for a time?
Dabilosi: Duke Dantalion... I wonder... Very well. s.h.i.+zu, I will return to the theocracy once I have sorted out my business here. If you wish, you may take some time to converse for a time before returning yourself but Zess.h.i.+-- [Gate]. They'll get suspicious. !!Tell no-one any compromising details about me!! Let's be on our way then Demiurge. We only have until Shalltear is properly dressed.
With that, I finally exit the throne room. Everyone is speechless. They thought Demiurge being in charge of explaining would mean that he was in charge of her from then on, but no! I said Albedo would help her change and I will stand by it. It's not petty, it's called 'taking nothing for granted'.
I've always loved the design on the throne room door. A G.o.ddess and a demon facing each other to welcome people to the most significant room of all. It meant a lot to all of us, and in the end 26 of us had changed it in some way, polis.h.i.+ng any rough edges or emboldening certain features until it was perfect.
The 72 Demons of the Lemegeton. Each and every one unique. Actually we knew even when we started that after a while it would get boring, endlessly perfecting models, inputting the lore such, but the satisfaction of sitting back at the end and seeing the finished product was unbelievable. Obviously we took breaks from doing it, and often we thought of quitting, but Nubo and I pulled through in the end. We even added a cheeky line at the end of each bio to poke fun everyone who didn't help out, but now that seems to be coming back to bite. It went something like this:
'Once the words hath been spoke, to he whom hast bespoke the incantation shalt the daemon submit. Yet verily, they shall be nought but stone lest one who wrought beseech them suchly - "Daemon(s), thine master hast come, wouldst thou not answer?!" '
To transfer command there was - 'I bequeath upon ye command on the daemon *x*, *x*'
Dabilosi: To me - Forneus, Dantalion!
Dantalion isn't too strange as far as design goes, just a human with five faces, two male, 2 female and one which could be either... that last one was a gender equality joke at the time, but it really isn't funny anymore. On the other hand, Forneus is a monstrosity with squid tentacles coming out a whale's body trailing into a snake, and 4 crab legs jutting out the front and back. It also has one ma.s.sive squid eye on the front and lionfish spines on top. Thankfully in it's lore, like the rest it has a human form so we made it a tall male with flowing, emerald green hair, deep blue eyes, light brown skin tone and a deep, baritone voice, since we thought it went well with the sea vibe and contrasted heavily with his original appearance.
Dabilosi: Daemons, thine master hast come, wouldst thou not answer?!
