Physician's Odyssey Chapter 506 - Emotion debt, the hardest to pay off

"The relations.h.i.+p between you and Cai Yan seems pretty good, and I believe that both of you will receive happiness." Jiang Qinghan spoke from the bottom of her heart and continued, "But you have to be faithful. That Shui Junzhuo I heard from Gu Yang must be a result of your fickle heart, right? If you're together with her, then what will happen to Cai Yan?"

This was the first time that Jiang Qinghan spoke about such a private matter with him, to which he shook his head and smiled. "There are many things in life that are beyond our control. Take this matter as an example. Despite knowing that falling for another person will increase the debt on me, I still couldn't control myself."

Locking her brows together, Jiang Qinghan persuaded, "Since you know that you're in the wrong, then you have to deal with this matter seriously and not let them down."

"I will do my best!" Su Tao shrugged with a weak smile.

Shaking her head, Jiang Qinghan bitterly smiled. Su Tao was exceptionally outstanding, and women were naturally attracted to outstanding men. Didn't her daughter, Yan Sha, consider him as her puppy love?

But after knowing Su Tao for such a long time, she believed that he wasn't a playboy, but at the same time, he helplessly fell into a debt of emotions.

"You're still young, and you're qualified to indulge. But always remember that an emotional debt is the hardest to pay off. At the same time, when you hurt someone else, you are also hurting yourself in the process." Jiang Qinghan said with an experienced tone.

Glancing at Su Tao, Jiang Qinghan sourly replied, "I'm criticising you, so why are you educating me instead?"

Awkwardly scratching his head, Su Tao smiled. "Relax, it's a logical suggestion."

"I'm already used to your impudence." Jiang Qinghan glanced at Su Tao, which seemed charming in his eyes, leaving him dazed for a long time.

But when Su Tao recovered, he sighed, since Jiang Qinghan only considered him as a junior from the beginning.

However, it was understandable since he's only five to six years older than Yan Sha.

It has been a long time since Su Tao met Cai Yan. When he picked her up from the airport, he noticed that she changed quite a bit. Her makeup was lighter now, and she even gave off a graceful aura in her actions. Because of her work, she has transformed into a fas.h.i.+onable white-collared lady. She wore sungla.s.ses on her scarlet hair. Her lips were thin, and her skin was fair. She wore a low-collared s.h.i.+rt with a platinum necklace hanging from her neck on the inside and a casual blazer on the outside. Her pants were tightly wrapped around her legs, making Su Tao stare at her for a long time.

Jabbing Su Tao's forehead, Cai Yan smiled. "What a fool!"

After Su Tao acted as if he was wiping the saliva from the corner of his lips, he praised, "What a feast for my eyes!"

Giving him a sour look, Cai Yan shorted, "Don't try and brush me off with those cheesy lines. I won't fall for that!"

As Su Tao swiftly came to Cai Yan's back, his hands ma.s.saged her shoulders and he smiled. "At the very least, I can help you loosen up your muscles and bones, right?"

Seeing that there were many people in the surroundings looking at them, Cai Yan's face blushed as she snapped, "Can you have some decency? We're in public!"

Sending a casual glance at his surroundings, Su Tao smiled. "Well, they don't know me! Furthermore, we didn't take it too far off the scale, did we?"

"Your face is getting thicker!" Cai Yan helplessly sighed.

With a smug look on his face, Su Tao responded, "Is this the first time you've known me?"

They found their familiarity with each other in their jokes. When Cai Yan saw someone amongst the crowd taking out a mobile phone, she immediately urged, "Someone has seen you, let's leave quickly! You can be considered a celebrity now, so don't get yourself in the headlines tomorrow again!"

Su Tao also felt that there's a possibility of that happening and immediately took the sungla.s.ses from Cai Yan's head and wore them.

"Let's find somewhere more private to chat."

Sourly glaring at him, Cai Yan asked, "So, where am I going to stay?"

"Obviously, my rented apartment to save money!" Su Tao smiled.

The two of them lived together for a long time, so Cai Yan naturally wouldn't mind. However, she still grumbled on her lips, "What a stingy boss!"

As the two of them bickered on the road, the usually chatty cab driver in Beijing couldn't find an opportunity to join in. When they arrived and got out of the vehicle, Su Tao failed to notice Yuan Cui, who was returning from the supermarket with some snacks. When she saw Su Tao and Cai Yan behaving intimately, she immediately took out her phone and took a video. However, she was disappointed since she was too late, and she did not manage to record any of their intimate actions.

When Yuan Cui noticed that Su Tao and Cai Yuan walked into the building, she immediately became suspicious. Can it be that Su Tao is going to bring another woman to meet Gu Rushan?

She had no idea of what's going on. When she saw Su Tao and Cai Yan heading for the same floor as her outside the elevator, she became even more baffled. Could it be that she had misunderstood him?

Could it be that Su Tao wasn't having an affair with that woman, as she had imagined? Could it be that they're siblings or relatives and they were here to meet Uncle and Aunty?

When Yuan Cui pressed on the doorbell, Zhang Fen opened the door and saw Yuan Cui with a weird expression and asked, "What's wrong?"

"Where's Su Tao?" Yuan Cui asked, with her brows frowning after looking around.

Baffled by Yuan Cui's nonsensical words, Zhang Fen bitterly smiled. "He isn't here. Why are you looking for him?"

"That makes no sense!" Yuan Cui exclaimed in shock. "I clearly saw him heading to this floor with a gorgeous woman!"

"You must've seen incorrectly. Su Tao hasn't been here!" Zhang Fen replied.

Taking out her phone, Yuan Cui tapped onto the video and said, "Look at this video yourself!"

Although the video was taken from afar and wasn't clear, Su Tao's long robe was too iconic.

"This does seem a little unusual. Let's ask Rushan when she's back!" Zhang Fen frowned.

Meanwhile, Yuan Cui's thoughts started to wander. How can someone disappear all of a sudden? But no matter how she pondered, she wouldn't figure out that Su Tao was actually next door flirting with a gorgeous woman.

Then again, Su Tao wasn't guilty of anything, since his relations.h.i.+p with Gu Rushan was just an act. He only took pity on her and played an act with her. But his relations.h.i.+p with Cai Yan was different, not to mention that they even received blessings from the elders.

Looking at the new sheets, Cai Yan smiled. "You're pretty meticulous to even change the sheets too!"

"Kim Jung-yeon lived here a while ago, and I changed them for you, fearing that you might dislike used sheets." Su Tao explained without hiding anything.

Helplessly shaking her head, Cai Yan took the pink underwear from the closet and smiled. "What's this?"

As Su Tao coughed, he shamelessly boasted, "This proves that we have a pure relations.h.i.+p! Even after she moved out, I've never touched the room!"

Shaking her head, Cai Yan bitterly smiled. "For me to fall for a womaniser like you, I must've sinned in my previous life."

Thickening his face, Su Tao smiled. "I'm rea.s.sured to see that you've resigned to fate!"

Pus.h.i.+ng Su Tao out from the room, Cai Yan locked the door and started to change. When she saw the underwear in the dustbin, she suddenly had a playful idea and placed one of her underwear in the closet.

It's an innate action, just like how dogs mark their territories. Right now, Cai Yan was doing the same thing.

Sitting on the couch, Su Tao sent Ni Jingqiu a message and informed her that the beauty who would be responsible for Three Flavour Hall's branch in Beijing has arrived.

But before he could send the message, his phone vibrated and received a message from Gu Rushan, who was filming.

"Why are you so careless? My cousin's wife saw you and a woman earlier, and she even took a video!"

Looking at this message, Su Tao weakly sighed. But he did not reply to Gu Rushan and sent the message to Ni Jingqiu first.

A moment later, he received a reply from Ni Jingqiu, "I'll arrange the dinner, and I'll send you the address later."

When Gu Rushan realised that Su Tao hadn't replied to her after a long time, she quickly called over. Her tone wasn't as unhappy as Su Tao and imagined, but it sounded a little wronged as she asked, "Why didn't you reply to me?"

"I was dealing with other matters, and I couldn't reply to you in time. Sorry about that!" Su Tao frankly replied.

Letting out a sigh, Gu Rushan begged, "I know that my tone in the message wasn't nice, but please understand my current position!"

Letting out a sigh, Su Tao helplessly said, "Big sister, I have my own life, and I can't possibly stay away from home just because we're acting, right?"

Gu Rushan was questioned to the point that she was speechless and sighed, "I know that I've taken it a little too far!"

A brief pondering later, Su Tao replied, "Since you can't speak, then let me take your position and reveal the truth to your family!"

After that, he immediately hung up the call and went to knock on the apartment next door.
