Hunting For A Husband In A Vampire Apocalypse 134 Not Someone Who Understands Words

Fu Mian tosses and turns on the bed. She can't sleep. She is worried about her mother and father. 

Her father did not make any promise to her. Is he going to kill her mother because her mother went mad? She believes in her father. He won't harm her mother. 

She sits up, taking deep breaths. Her forehead creases with worry and fear. She still wants to make sure. Who will help her? Pretty Eyes isn't coming here anymore. Her uncles won't tell her anything. Uncle Klyn would have helped her, but he's not in the castle.

Xiao Chun Dan pushes the door and comes into the room. "Fu Mian, are you awake?"

"Uncle Dan." Fu Mian's face becomes bright. She climbs off the bed and runs to him. "Did Daddy hurt Mommy?"

"No." Xiao Chun Dan scrutinises her with a tint of guilt in his eyes. "Fu Mian, do you want to see your Mother?"

Fu Mian widens her round eyes. "Can I see her?"

"I can take you to her." Xiao Chun Dan takes a deep breath. "But you must always listen to me. Whatever happens, you must not do anything against my words. I need your blind trust. I promise that I will keep you safe. Nothing will hurt you. I will keep a watch over you even if you feel that you are alone. But keep this a secret between us."

Fu Mian can't understand his words. Why is he saying stuff like this? But Xiao Chun Dan has gained her trust. She holds his hand. "I will keep this a secret between us."

"Let's go." Xiao Chun Dan feels a pang in his heart when he sees her smiling at him. But this must be done. He made a deal with Li Dai Yu. 

"She's waiting for you."

"No." Fu Sheng huffs at her. "I will bring Huang Qiuyan without your help."

"Then, watch Huang Qiuyan die." Li Dai Yu crosses her arms and glares at him. "You still think that you love Huang Qiuyan. How long will you lie? I can see through you. You are a king first. Then, you are a father. Then, you are a mate to Huang Qiuyan. Love is not your priority. Even without her, you can be happy."

"That's not true." Fu Sheng's eyes flash red. Only he knows how painful it is to see her like this. He can destroy this person in a second. "I don't want to see you. I am asking you. Go back to where you came from."

"I told you to choose between Huang Qiuyan and Fu Mian." Li Dai Yu chuckles. "But you keep whining like a little boy. Vampire King, I a.s.sume that you chose Fu Mian over Huang Qiuyan again. Now, I feel so sad for her. Even her true mate thinks nothing of her. I have relayed your choice to her. She will fall deeper into sleep. You are making things easier for me."

Fu Sheng grits his teeth. He grabs her shoulders and commands her in a low voice, "Return her to me now."

"Beg me." Li Dai Yu leans closer and whispers to his ear, "If you plead to me on your knees, I might let her out for a minute to say her final goodbyes."

To say goodbye? Something inside him snaps. He won't let Huang Qiuyan disappear. He needs to see her now. Both enraged and desperate, his consciousness slams against the barrier around her mind. 

Li Dai Yu holds her head and screams in pain in her head. Blood trickles down on her lips from her nose. She falls on her knees, feeling a crack in the barrier. This man is too powerful. He can kill both Huang Qiuyan and her in less than a second.

He realizes what he has done. He should not have lost his temper. If he forces into her mind, Huang Qiuyan can also get hurt. The mind might collapse and Huang Qiuyan might never wake up again. 

However, he senses the crack in the barrier around her mind. He closes his eyes and sends his consciousness into her mind plane through the tear in the barrier, hoping to see Huang Qiuyan.

He glimpses at a dense forest. Huang Qiuyan is here somewhere. He can feel her. Where? He looks around. But he can't tell. He realizes that there's someone else here. In the distance, he catches a glimpse of a familiar face.

"Daddy?"

When he hears Fu Mian's small voice, his consciousness flows out instinctively. He sees her standing beside Xiao Chun Dan. He lets out a breath of relief. Fu Mian is not inside the room.

"I was going to act nice to you." Li Dai Yu presses her hands over her nose to stop the bleeding. The magic is already fixing the tear in the barrier. "But you are not someone who understands words."

Mommy and Daddy are fighting? Fu Mian is watching them without a clue about the situation. Xiao Chun Dan holds her hand tightly. "Fu Mian, don't forget my words."

At the same time, Fu Sheng realises that something isn't right. Why would Xiao Chun Dan bring Fu Mian here? He runs in her direction. "Fu Mian, let go of his hand."

Fu Mian gasps when she sees Xiao Chun Dan flickering in and out of existence. She looks at her hand that is holding his hand. She is also disappearing along with him. She tries to let go of his hand 

It's too late. Fu Sheng only grabs air. 

Behind him, Li Dai Yu chortles. She rubs the tears in the corners of her eyes. "I wouldn't have done this if you had let go of me like a nice boy."

His heart is beating rapidly. A drop of sweat rolls down on his forehead. He takes long and deep breaths, trying to calm himself down. Li Dai Yu is Huang Qiuyan. He can't hurt her. Fu Sheng turns around and faces her. "Where is she?" 

She gives him a toothy grin. Finally, he is showing fear. Poor Huang Qiuyan is never anyone's priority. She pokes the side of her head. "In there."
