I Deserve A Second Chance Chapter 34 - Handsome Gold Fish

After lunch, Li Xiqing sent Shao Yan, Li Na and Lee Ying back to the office.

Li Xiqing stopped the car in front of the office building, "You go in first. I'm waiting for Karl and Martin". Shao Yan just nodded and then took off her seatbelt and got off the car.

Just when they had gotten off the car, Karl and Martin walked over to their side. They got in to Li Xiqing's car, and then surprisingly, they left again.

Fan jie saw the other girls' confused look, and said casually, "Oh, little Karl told me that they're meeting another client now".

And then she grabbed Shao Yan's shoulder and dragged her back into the office, "Let's go, pretty girl. Your prince already asked me to take care of you today".

Shao Yan rolled her eyes and let go off Fan jie's hand from her shoulder, "Stop fooling around~".

All four of them walked back to their floor. None of the girls asked Shao Yan any question.

They don't need to. Li Xiqing's extremely attentive and gentle behavior during lunch was already so obvious!

The girls were giddy with excitement. Their own sister caught a precious whale! Big fat gold tree! They couldn't even be more happier than this!

The several weeks after that flew by just like that. Shao Yan had been so busy running here and there.

The anniversary was only few weeks away! And she started to feel the panic. Her workload were already overwhelming her.

To top it off, she had new headaches loomed over her.

Shao Yan was already notorious from all those rumors around her past. She was upset the first time she heard the stories. But over time, she treated them as a joke, and Shao Yan just ignored them.

There were so many rumors anyway, no one could have ever known the truth. No one here knew about her and Liwei.

And now, she had a new rumor attacking her.

This time, was more complicated, because the party in this rumor were both known to everyone.

She was eating her lunch at her desk now. Shao Yan kept poking her fork at her noodle.

This was because of that guy!

Li Xiqing.

Annoying Li Xiqing.

Stupid Li Xiqing.

Hateful Li Xiqing.

Shao Yan just poked and poked her food. It was all because of that lunch!

After that lunch with the three G.o.ds, Shao Yan was known to be "the girl with whom Daniel is having serious commitment with".

Everywhere she went, people would definitely stared and then talked about her. Shao Yan was seriously very tired of this.

Shao Yan went out less if not necessary, and just hid at her desk, even when eating lunch.

Li Xiqing, on the other hand, felt good with all of this. He had heard of all her previous rumors in the past. He hated every single rumors about Shao Yan.

But Li Xiqing exceptionally liked this one. He wanted Shao Yan to start adapting to his pursuit. And adapted herself of them being together.

He knew there was still long way to go, but he was happy with this progress.

Li Xiqing was going high profile now. Every time he got the chance to be with her, he would always look for her.

For lunch. Or for dinner. Or even for tea break since she didn't drink coffee.

And now, it was time for him to implement the next strategy: to make her rely on him more.

It had been almost two weeks since they last met. Both of them were occupied. Shao Yan said she needed to focus on finalizing the anniversary preparation. And Li Xiqing along with Karl and Martin had to go to city B for meeting with C corporation.

Over these few days being apart, Li Xiqing never skipped a day without calling her.

He would message and call her everyday even though it's only a minute long just to ask what she was doing. But he would always made sure that he always talk to her.

After being away for few weeks, Li Xiqing finally flew back this morning.

Since it was still early, Li Xiqing decided to get some breakfast and then pick her up. He was planning to send her to the office, and then he would go home and rest.

Li Xiqing was standing in front of her apartment, and rang the doorbell. He knew that her phone was always turned off when she was sleeping, so he couldn't call her to let her know that he was outside the door.

He waited for a while, and then rang the doorbell again. Li Xiqing finally heard the sound of dragged steps. He pursed his lips while trying to imagine her annoyed face.

He heard the steps stopped in front of the door, so he guessed, she must be peeking at the door peephole trying to look at him.

Smart girl.

The door was opened. To his surprise, a tall, short hair woman was the one standing in front of him.

Li Xiqing frowned. This was not his girl. Who was she?

She had beige silk night gown with black laces accent on her chest. She was pretty and currently was scrutinizing him.

"Handsome, are you lost?"

He tried to remember, he guessed this must be the supermodel roommate that Shao Yan said very pretty and very tall.

"No", Li Xiqing put on a cold face and answered her, "I'm here for Shao Yan".

As if right on cue, Shao Yan's still sleepy voice was heard from inside, "Ling Ling, who is it? If it's marketing, just chased him away".

Li Xiqing heard her approaching footstep. His expression went softer.

Her small face peeked from behind the tall girl, she saw him and then her eyes went big and round.

"What are you doing here?"

Li Xiqing finally saw his girl.

Trip to city B was too long, he missed her. But now she dared to ask him what he was doing here?!

Shao Yan stepped aside to let Li Xiqing came in.

Qi Ling was surprised. What happened here? How much gossip did she miss? How did Yan Yan catch this handsome gold fish?
