The CEO's Lovely Wife Chapter 76 - 76 I Don't Want It Grand

Grandpa He looked solemn as he gazed at the people around the table calmly. All of them were also looking at him, including his granddaughter. 

He found himself really torn. However, he reached out his hand and patted October's head tenderly. He looked at his granddaughter which he never thought that would grow so fast withouy him even noticing it. 

Grandpa He sighed and bitterly smiled, "My granddaughter is already old enough to make decisions for herself. I, her grandfather, have nothing else to say and do but to just support her in it."

"Grandpa..." October felt extremely moved. She can fell that her grandfather's hand on her head was shaking terribly. He was hilding himself back. Just looking at his old face, she saw his eyes turning red. 

October was extremely ashamed at herself. She was rush and was being greedy that she was not able to tell her grandpa beforehand about this decision. She knew that her grandpa was their for her always but, at this moment, she knew that at some poiny, she forgot about him and that was the thing that has been chewing her conscience. She has nothing else to do but to squeeze his rough old hands and lower her stinging eyes. 

"My dear, I'll do whatever I can to be your strong pillar of support. So you don't have to be afraid in anything. Even if you wanted to beat this (b.a.s.t.a.r.d) man like how you squash a melon, I would strongly support you with that." Grandpa He seriously said without even flinching in the slightest that Lexus was with him and that his parents were also their. 

Obviously, this was a threat to Lexus alone. Also, this shows that the He family head extremely favors this granddaughter of his like she was his most precious and treasured gem and that he wouldn't mind using all of his resources to go against anyone without regard to their social standing. 

Mother and Father Song looked at Grandpa He as soon as they heard him say those words in front of them. Their lips twitched and thought of how protective he was for his granddaughter. However, if that would really happen, then it's their son's fault for being an idiot and maybe they wouldn't mind giving Grandpa He a helping hand in punis.h.i.+ng their son. 

Lexis did not know that his own parents would discard him just like that. Fortunately, he still did not know about it.

"I won't give you the chance to do that. I will never bully." Lexus said confidently with a smile hanging on his lips.

October acted as if she did not hear Lexus and just looked up to see her Grandpa He with a serious look on his face as he said that. She couldn't help but frown at this. "Grandpa, you should not say something like that."

"And now you are starting to show such emotion on your face." Grandpa He sighed emotionally as he looked at her frowning face. Even if it was just a frown, it was still fine to see it unlike the past her who's face was blank and her eyes were dull. Also, he couldn't turn a blind eye to see her soft gaze whenever she was looking at Lexus and that almost undiscernable smile playing on her pink lips. 

Hearing this, October pursed her lips and looked straight at his old face. Just like that, she can see that his once black hair have already streaks of white and his face were now covered with fine lines of wrinkles. He was getting older and older. Just thinking about it makes her heart hurt. 

Song Wei's ears perked at this. He looked at the emotional grandpa then to October but did not say anything. No matter how he looked at her, he couldn't seem to remember her as one of the He family's granddaughters in City A. He also did not know that he has one in City D. However, it was undeniable that the two were related because, oddly enough, she looked just like her grandpa.

"With that, I would like to have a grand wedding for my granddaughter. I want it to be the grandest." Grandpa He turned to the Song couple with a firm look on his face. His voice was even deeper and it resonated in the room.

"Of course! The Song's weddings were never been small. I can a.s.sure you that." Mother Song said mildly. She was extemely excited about it. To have a daughter-in-law this well-cultured and pretty, she has nothing else to say against her. 

Grandpa He nodded in satisfaction. That's for the best. He would never let his granddaughter be married off just like this. She deserves to have the best. 

October looked at Lexus with trepidation in her green eyes. However, he only looked at her and gave her a rea.s.suring smile. After hesitating, she finally decided to let them know of her decision. "About the wedding..."

Instantly, all eyes turned to her but she kept herself calm and cool as she continued to say, "I don't want to have a grand wedding."

"Why?!" Lexus was the first one to exclaim. He felt his heart drop. Does this mean that she wanted to back out now? 

October welcomed their shocked gazes and pursed her lips. Her grandpa was the person who was most shocked then displeased at this. However, she really doesn't want to have such a grand wedding. For her, it will just be too troublesome. She wanted to keep her life free from trouble. If it will be grand, surely, a lot of powerful people will be there and she would be exposed to unnecessary squabbles with people of higher authority and with the top socialites. 

"My dear, is there something wrong with having a grand wedding? This is a wedding of two big families in City A." Mother Song calmly asked. No one had ever wanted to have their wedding not big. So this was really such a surprise to her. Keeping her posture straight and proper, she sat regally and looked at October straight in the eyes. "Or is it that you don't want to be wedded to my son and wantes to back out?"
