Haaah!! I heard that rumours spread faster than wildfire and here is the living proof of it! They are treating me as if I am some plague! What do they mean being in danger due to my pheromones? Aren't I the one who would be in more danger? I don't get this logic at all! The hatred towards Omega is so biased, that it is almost laughable.

"Tony? Tony?" Tanya called, knocking softly on the door

I was sitting in a small cubicle in the kitchen of Garnish. It was a small separate s.p.a.ce for Chefs-in-charge and only place where no one except the chefs in higher position, can enter without permission. So, I can relax here. I was tired of the buzzing around me all day. I was going through the sales summary and didn't want such gossips to distract me. The knock on the door broke my concentration.

"Come in Tanya"

She came in carrying a plate of steak and some herb rice. I could see some desert too. She place them carefully beside my laptop and doc.u.ments.

"You haven't had lunch. Have this, I made it and I quietly got some desert from the bakery chef. You need strength to keep working, you know"

I might have had lots of misfortune in my life but I was grateful that the relations I made in life were all great. Chef Sam, Fred, Tanya...all cared about me so earnestly. Guess, in the most darkest of nights, can you see the star s.h.i.+ning the brightest.

"Thank you. Did you have your food?" I asked

"Worry about yourself not me. It's been three days already, and this stupid rumour just wouldn't die down" she said gnas.h.i.+ng her teeth in irritation

I laughed at her annoyed face. I had seen worse, so it was not as disheartening to me. Truthfully, I thought my subordinates might request the higher ups to dismiss me. But nothing as such was done. Guess, they are also not sure about the genuineness of the rumour. I just pray that they keep Twen out of this.

"That's fine. People will always have something to say about you. I can't let that affect me right?"

"I am surprised, how well you are tackling it. If it was me, I don't think I would have the courage to show up. You are really strong"

"Well, as a male Omega, I faced such rumours wherever I have gone and they have been nastier than what this people are saying. Sometimes, I have even been bullied and hara.s.sed. They just a.s.sumed that since am an Omega, I would want to sleep with anyone I lay my eyes on. So, comparatively, this is nothing!"

"That's true. What's with people and their narrow perception of Omegas. Already our life is a h.e.l.l hole and these people enjoy making it worse"

I smiled, "Forget it...now go back to work. We don't have time to be chatting" I said in a mock dominance

"Yea yea" she said, walking to the door

"Chef, the meat from the butchers..." a young commis came barging in, already muttering something and coming face to face with Tanya

"Who allowed you to barge into the Chef's office?" Tanya bursted at the Commis, with an angry stare

His eyes bulged at her words and he quickly apologised, "Sorry! Sorry Chef! Forgive me!"

"Make sure it doesn't happens next time. So, what were you saying?" I asked waving of the words

But before the boy could speak, I heard something that totally made me bowl over.

"Oh man! is it really true? The Chairman's son and our chef.... Quite the fish he caught!" I heard a male voice speak, in bare shock

"No s.h.i.+t! Look at his son, he is totally a xerox copy of CEO! No wonder he had such a high position here" another male voice said in wonder

"How shameless! Using his son to get favors! Unbelievable! What has the world come to?" a female voice said with a snort

Tanya's eyes widen to the size of a gla.s.s coaster hearing them. She must have already understood who I was bonded to. But I don't care about that right now. How on earth did they know about Twen and where did they saw him. I pushed Tanya and the Commis aside and ran out of the office to see a small group of chefs gathered together looking at something.

"Move" I bellowed.

All the gathered chef looked at me, all their faces turned white except one chef; a tall, lanky, fair skinned man with small brown eyes and unnaturally thick lips; who was smirking at me and was holding a cellphone. All the chefs were gathered around him but the moment I appeared they all immediately dispersed except that one chef. I proceeded towards him with quick small steps. He gave a very greasy smile at me, stas.h.i.+ng the cellphone in his trouser pocket.

"Good afternoon Chef! How are-"

"Cut the c.r.a.p and show me what you all were looking at right now" I said, trembling in both rage and fear.

"Chef! It was nothing. I was just-"

"Don't try to lie. I heard you guys. Show me, right now"

"I am sorry, chef, please don't blame me. I don't want to lose my job" he said, in a heartily unconvincing voice, pulling out his cellphone.

I was not liking him at all. He has the looks of someone carrying a huge bomb under his sleeve. His voice and demeanour was as greasy as his smile. He unlocked his screen and turned it towards me. My eyes almost came out of my socket. It was a picture of me with Twen on my arm. This was taken during the sports day.
