"Milady?" Breath called. I looked at her and saw that she is holding one of my papers.
"Yes?"
"I've been wondering about this since long time but I might as well ask it now. How did you get to be friends with Esmeraldo? I mean i'm not saying that someone outside the palace is prohibited from being a friend of a royalty but i'm just curious." she said. The paper she's holding has Esmeraldo's signature on it.
Hmm...
"Well Anahaw told me that...."
-Flashback-
Anahaw went out of the palace to visit the people and has he wander around, some give him warm smiles, free biscuits and stuffs. He was so happy and talked to a lot to the townspeople.
He saw a boy doing archery. He saw that the boy used materials that can be found around his tiny house. The boy's bow and arrow are made from recycled wood with rusts on it. It was not good as the ones from the palace but Anahaw saw that the boy has great skills. He hit the orange that was on the roof with one try.
They boy was surprised when he saw the prince looking at him and bowed down.
"Y-your majesty." the boy said and put down his bow and arrow to the ground.
Anahaw picked up the equipment.
"You've got some great skills! Do you have another of this? Heh, i'll beat you!" little Anahaw proudly said.
The boy smirked. "Well, if you say so your majesty. I'm up! Here!" he said and they started the challenge.
After many hours, Anahaw was frustrated. He could not beat the boy. He threw off the bow and arrow then sat on the floor with a sigh.
"You can't beat me your majesty! Haha!" the boy said and Anahaw rolled his eyes then got up and smiled.
Anahaw patted the boy's shoulder. "You are tough! I like you! I want you to be my friend. I'll take you to the palace sometimes and let's practice!" Anahaw excitingly said and the boy instantly nodded.
Little Anahaw was about to go when he asked the boy a question.
"What's your name, by the way?"
"I'm Esmeraldo, your majesty." he said and bowed.
-End of flashback-
"Well after that, Anahaw went to the town again and took Esmeraldo to the palace. Our father saw his skills and made him one of our superior knights." I said.
Breath nodded. "It seems like n.o.body can beat him with archery that easily."
"Yeah." I said and smiled. "Quite charming, isn't he?" I teased and saw Breath blushed a little.
"Your highness! It's definetly not like that at all." she replied and we both chuckled.
"Although he is great with archery, he can't beat Anahaw in sword fighting." I said.
"Then, you two saw each other?" Breath asked.
"Yeah, it was inside the palace. I was crying and bugging my brother to teach me how to use a sword but he doesn't want to. Esmeraldo saw it and volunteered to teach me that's why Anahaw joined then." I said and smiled. I remembered all of our memories since we were kids.
It's been three days since Anahaw and his men went out and they still haven't come back so to not be stucked with paperworks, I volunteered myself to be in charge for the practice of our maids. I can see that they can handle sword properly, the training must be very well.
It's good to see that women in the palace can defend themselves now. After that, we went back inside the palace because a roaring thunder and rain came.
